We are not privy to everything going on behind the scenes, so anyone complaining about or criticizing this decision need to back up and see how this unfolds. I am willing to trust in President Trump’s and Sec. Rubio’s judgement on this.
I hope they do one thing during this two-week period, and that is not to treat it as an absolute ceasefire. Ceasefires are often just a delaying tactic that one side uses to regroup and try to resupply. If any third-party attempts to fly, drive, or ship in any replacement weapons and military supplies to Iran, the U.S. and Israel need to intercept them and either turn them back to where they came from or destroy them. Iran should not be allowed to use this timeframe to improve their military position in any way. If negotiations collapse, we should just have to resume military action right where we left off. I think PT and team, as well as the Israelis, are well aware of this and will take appropriate action when and as needed.

Agree. I read that China and Russia both were supplying weapons to Iran which would replenish what the US destroyed I would imagine. It is likely that Russia may try to give Iran what the US gave the Afghanistan mujahadeen years ago – ground to air missiles which led to Russia’s withdrawal from that country. I find it very interesting that Pakistan would be leading the charge to stop the war from continuing. After all, aren’t they the only muslim country with nukes ? I wonder if that fact may have some bearing on the discussions that were held with Iran and the US.
Pakistan doesn’t want to piss of Saudi Arabia. If the Saudis decide to invoke their mutual defense pacts the Pakistanis would be obligated to help against Iran… or the Pakistanis would put themselves in danger of being cut off from all the Middle East oil entirely with Iran inevitably loses to America and the Saudi defense pacts. The Pakistanis want peace because all the other options are worse for them. Attack their biggest ally or lose all oil/ng access and piss off America on top of it.
Perhaps the cease-fire only needs to last long enough for the rings of “human shield” civilians to go back home, away from the power plants and bridges. Once the civilians are clear and the IRGC intentions to keep firing are also clear, then the bombings can resume.

Ultimately it doesn’t matter what Iran submitted. The US had submitted a set of conditions as well.

Keep in mind, as I haven’t read this 10 point proposal. Venezuela was broke and what did Trump do for them? Iran in March introduced a historical first note (Rial) with a face value of $10 million. Whenever a country adds more 0’s to a currency, this is indicative of financial collapse. History’s teachings.
It’s quite possible that our administration will allow this temporarily, to help Iran get back on its feet as long as they don’t return to the same path they were on.

Saudi Arabia is building two additional oil pipelines bypassing Iran and the Straits of Hormuz carrying 10 million bpd of oil. The current Saudi bypass carries 7 million bpd.

Last time I looked at this post there were 12 comments! Did not seem in character for President Trump to obliterate any nation with bombs. I trust my/our President. Was not sure what was going to happen today, and do not have attribution but the saying goes ” Never interrupt an enemy when they are in the process of destroying themselves. ” A LOT can happen in two weeks.
From the comments I read here it sounds as if the tribes of the Middle East thought this was their Armageddon re Iran being bombed to pieces. So lets go out and kill whoever we can before we die.. So if the Middle East factions are warring and wish to destroy themselves. I say let them. So go ahead, have at it. Get it out your system of your system if you can. There seems to be no cure for the internecine insanity that has brewing there for so long.
Praying for President Trump and am so grateful that he has the wisdom, skill, and experience in the “Art of the Deal.” He has brought PEACE and ended so many wars so far. Let him continue with the work he is meant to accomplish to bring peace to this crazed world. That is my prayer.

I hope our bombers have time to refuel before being sent back. This “cease fire” may last as long as 48 hours, and it certainly won’t result in opening Hormuz. By the way, the Houthis still have the capacity to shut the Bab-al-Mandeb.
