The VA tested me three times over the following 20 years after my release, even though my hearing loss was within the range normally connected with working around such devices they told me it was because I damaged my hearing because of my history of working with power tools (circular saws and such while doing carpentry) or cutting grass. I gave up after the last time. I have other stories such as things we did in Panama before operation Just Cause to justify my disdain for my government.🖖🏻

When my mother-in-law went into a nursing home in 2008, my wife and I applied for Aid and Attendance since my deceased father-in-law was a WWII veteran. It took over a year to finally get approved. We had to go to our congressman to get help pushing it through. She received about 6 months of benefits before passing. They try to stall the process as long as they can, hoping that the applicant will die first. Absolutely pathetic!

Many are damaged and need serious help when discharged…broadly speaking, I do not view that as help.
I have long held the mental health medical industrial complex does little, very little for giving our veterans or even civilians, proper and EFFECTIVE mental health care. And mental health care is not effective because its incomplete…which causes ‘recidivism’ with in that industry. Because of the costs involved.
