CNN is bragging about the teams they have on the ground in Iran and around the war zone to provide coverage for Operation Epic Fury. [SOURCE] Which again, brings up an interesting contrast that seemingly flew under the radar from past events.
As we noted in the beginning of the Russian war in Ukraine, where was the media for that one? Where was this CNN coverage for the war in Ukraine? The Ukraine war was the only war in modern history with ZERO mainstream media reports complete with helmets, flak jackets and play-by-play reporting of every moment within the conflict. Why?
The answer is not necessarily complicated. The Ukraine war was a war of narratives. Yes, there was actual fighting, but the physical conflict itself was not in alignment with the narrative the media intended to create from it. The reality within Ukraine did not fit in the pert chart and the visuals would not ever have supported the claims.
Ukraine was/is the COVID-19 of wars. A western intelligence operation using the geography of Ukraine to push an agenda in alignment with western interests. It would not and does not serve the interests of truth and transparency for media to report from inside a battlespace that might contradict their claims. Hence, we labeled it “World War Reddit,” and it remains that way through today.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy was installed by the same interests who triggered the conflict. As an outcome, the media participation was limited to column inches, punditry reports, claims and scripted presentations that worked alongside Zelenskyy, the actor, traveling all around the world promoting the conflict and raising money.
The physical battlespace was far less valuable than the EU/NATO and Intelligence Community narratives needed to maintain it. As soon as everyone started making money from the screenplay, maintaining ticket sales was prioritized over the performance itself. Criticism and critiques can be completely avoided by keeping the curtain down and just narrating what’s going on behind it.
That system of deception continues through today. Strange that everyone just accepted it.

The number of pictures available of actual destruction from this war is beyond minuscule. I saw one segment early on where they had NGO’s in Ukraine feeding people amongst some rubble who were all grateful but not as distraught as I would have expected.
If you google you can find some pictures of bombed buildings, but hard to tell if they are many angles of same buildings/areas. Even still, relatively minuscule numbers for the devastation we read of.
I’ve not seen a single live battle action shot for any of the gazillion per day deaths. Not ONE!!

I actually walked someone into realizing this at our bar before. The news was on, and they were talking about a bill that, according to the reporter, would be “bad” for America if it passed. That’s all they kept saying. No details, no explanation, just a long string of “bad,” “harmful,” “not good.”
(Side note: when there’s no sports on, some people at the bar ask to put on the news. Being in New England, that usually means CNN or MSNBC.)
A guy from our bar golf league was sitting next to me, and he said, “Man, that bill’s going to be bad.” I asked him, “Why? What does it do? What’s actually in it?” He looked back at the TV to listen more closely. Now they had an “expert” guest repeating the same talking points: bad, harmful, terrible for working‑class Americans. Still no substance.
After a bit, I asked again, “So why is it bad? What’s in the bill? What laws does it change?”
Finally, he said, “I don’t know. They haven’t said what’s actually in it. They just keep saying it’s bad.”
I asked him, “So, do you still think it’s bad, or do you see how they’re manipulating the viewer? We’ve been watching for nearly 45 minutes, and not once have they explained a single detail. If they don’t like something, it’s ‘bad.’ If they do, it’s ‘good.’ That’s it. Rinse and repeat.”
He told me he’d never noticed that before, but now that he has, he watches for it every time. And now he’ll point things out to me when he catches the same pattern.

A very long time ago, in a galaxy far away, I watched CNN because of their war coverage. When that stopped and they started getting chills for Obama, I stopped watching them and never went back. When FOX called the election for Biden in the midst of obvious shenanigans, I stopped watching them, and never went back. Their images are forever tarnished, in my opinion. Thankfully, independent journalists exist and we can puzzle it together ourselves.
Turning the page is nearly impossible for some. Letting go of prior habits and preconceptions leads to the unknown. Too many are terrified of the unknown. So much so that they would much prefer to nurse their illusions.

The last war I seen on CNN was the Iraq War, my brother in law was over there for that one. My nephew did a couple tours in Afghanistan so I started watching again but the coverage sucked so I severed my connection. I refused to watch it for anything else. Lord knows what lies they’re spewing now!

Alas, the best Ukraine War coverage has been from Patrick Lancaster, whom I have followed for three years. His interviews of civillians in the Donbas region was very enlightening. He has lived in the area for many years, has a family, speaks Russian. Nothing like it from the “other” side.
