Asst Attorney General Gail Slater was the head of the Antitrust Division of the Dept of Justice. Today she announces she has “left her role.” CNN is reporting that AAG Slater was fired.
Gail Slater was in charge of the antitrust division and a hawk on the mergers and acquisitions of Big Tech and Big Corporate media. As head of the DOJ Antitrust Division, Slater’s view on competition was against the interests of the major Big Tech billionaires and corporate media conglomerates who intersect with them.
Slater was in a position to influence the Warner Brothers-Discovery’s deal to sell the Warner Bros. studio and HBO to Netflix, which Paramount (David Ellison) is trying to stop.
If you have followed the influence of Larry Ellison (Oracle, TikTok) and his son David Ellison (Paramount, CBS) in/around the Trump administration as it relates to Elon Musk (a beneficiary of Ellison), then the timing of Gail Slater’s removal doesn’t look good at all.
Gail Slater came into the administration as a part of the JD Vance network (Peter Thiel, Palantir, etc.), and it looks like that same Vance network stood aside and watched Larry Ellison leverage his position to see her removed.
Slater was a solid MAGA voice in a critical Antitrust position against the interests of Big Tech and Big Corp. However, I said on Christmas Day 2024 – we were likely to be very disappointed by the influence of Big Tech/Big Corp in the White House {SEE HERE}.
Via CNN[…] Slater said in her Thursday post on X: “It is with great sadness and abiding hope that I leave my role as AAG for Antitrust today. It was indeed the honor of a lifetime to serve in this role.”
The anti-trust division is expected to play a critical role in assessing Netflix’s Warner Brothers Discovery’s deal to sell the Warner Bros. studio and HBO to Netflix, which Paramount is trying to stop by appealing straight to shareholders with its own bid. In an NBC interview last week, Trump said, “I’ve decided I shouldn’t be involved. The Justice Department will handle it.” But Paramount CEO David Ellison returned to the White House last week to meet privately with Trump, two sources familiar with the matter told CNN. (read more)
There may be something else in the background that we do not understand. However, when former lobbyists and political consultants become key administration officials (Wiles, Bondi) these types of outcomes are possible.
That photo says a lot. Bondi is trying too hard and Trump isn’t buying it. Good. Of course, I could be completely off-base.
Body language conferms it. Trump is closed to her and she is pleading the issue!
Is it safe or realistic to suggest that those in the admin who are, maybe, pushing for prosecution of known criminals are being pushed out?

The only place Presidents and citizens can go to get Law and Order is from the D.O.J. but for some reason the key ingredient to MAGA is gone.

I agree with you, up to a point Rhh0nda, except that not only do we have the D.O.J., but, more importantly, we have The Constitution, as written, to guide us on limiting government. Subject all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to Our Constitution.
Unfortunately, our elected haven’t followed the Constitution for decades and the swamp is so heavily polluted it will never be cleansed. The only solution—rid the infestation and start over again. Go back to the beginning when our leaders volunteered because they cared about our country. I know Hell will freeze before that happens but thank God the end times is much closer than most realize!
We The Taxpayers need to demand to defund the fraud by starting over, dismantling the entire system of redistribution of Federal Income tax receipts to the States. Reverse that back to the system the Founders set up, where the Feds beg the States for funding via levies. The States can tax and can run their own social programs, which will isolate fraud to each State.
For the next 2 years, the Feds must distribute 95% of Federal Income tax revenues to the States in strict proportion to the amounts their Citizens paid. Then zero it out. Return to the pre-1916 system, and the social program fraud will shrink, as will the Federal government.

I don’t get it. If Slater was part of the Thiel network, then one has to assume that she would be favorable to Thiel interests. If Thiel and Ellison are in opposing camps, it then appears that, for whatever reason, Ellison has leveraged his position in some way, so that the ‘antitrust’ outcome favors Ellison. But at the end of the day, does it really matter whether Oracle or Palantir is the successful camp? Why would we align with the intents of either of them??
The Morgan – Wiles – Bondi link that corrupts the MAGA movement, among others, continues to roll. This is a Trump issue. He is ultimately the boss.

I did not know that we still have anti-trust division. If we do, they are totally ineffective. This is a minor problem. The big problem it that the Justice Department is reluctant to prosecute the criminals who are driving the ongoing coup d’etat.
And to think I was hoping the “Ellison” was Keith . . .
Ethically, I don’t like this kind of move. But then, in principle, a lot of moves that President Trump has made I wouldn’t like. But many (maybe all) have been necessary in order to subdue the Deep State and attack corruption that doesn’t want to MAGA.
Pragmatically, though, I expect a lot of similar moves in support of Big Tech because we are in a 3-way race for survival against China in AI/military, and against the coming economic crash — or reset into a golden age of plenty — and big tech is both the battleground and the army that must take the high ground.
We have to get to abundant solar energy from space, and abundant AI situated in space orbit, before China gets to that level using their coal & nuclear energy advantage to dominate AI, and before our economy collapses.
I know–this is the same argument that brought us the Patriot Act, and the eventual results of winning this race might be even more loss of freedom. But loss of this race to either China or economic collapse would also result in loss of freedom.
It’s a devilish dilemma: we’re dancing with one devil against another devil because we’re trapped between the devil and the deep, red ink.
I prefer this Bruzed Orange policy to the Deep State’s Clockwork Orange ruination and madness.

Big Tech may be our growing concern now on many fronts,… but it may also be our only solution to our technological future that may be fraught with the CCP’s competition for dominance and perhaps also a resultant world econ redo, if not collapse.
