Secretary of Treasury Scott Bessent appeared on Capitol Hill today to give testimony to the Senate Banking Committee. The leftists were well prepared with narrative scripts to advance their opposition agenda. Bessent was unfazed.
In this highlight, Senator Elizabeth ‘Liawatha” Warren complains to Secretary Bessent about the price of things she tripled and quadrupled. Bessent responded by pointing out the Trump administration is reversing the catastrophic damage from the Biden-Warren economy. “I’m-a-git-me-a-beer” was not pleased at the retort. WATCH:
No senator, half of something you quadrupled is not less.
Thankfully, the grocery prices that Biden-Warren exploded, are finally starting to come down thanks to the economic policies of President Trump. Warren’s “affordability” narrative collapses each month the real wages of the American worker rise faster than the trailing inflationary impact of prior policy.
As noted by several economic indicators, inflation on the stuff that matters is in retreat. We are now entering the phase of lower gasoline prices, lower transportation costs, lower overall energy costs and stable domestic market prices. Additionally, exfiltrating illegal alien workers, both underground and above ground, is starting to put upward pressure on American wages and lower overall housing costs.

Senator “I am not to bright” Warren. It would be funny if not so dangerous.
She appears bright until you hear her speak…
That’s because light travels faster than sound 🙂
Bingo 🤣 😂 !
She sounds like a cranky old lady when she speaks. Oh yea, she is a cranky old lady!
That was tough to watch. Granny spews the talking points her aids wrote for her. She is off her reservation pretending to be a serious elected representative of the people.
All those non player nobody’s in all those house and senate offices are all low IQ drones who should be forced out to get real jobs in the real world.
She is a disgrace to the nation. Other countries have to be laughing at how ignorant she and her installed Dimwaste trash pals really are
I don’t know. Have you seen the stuff that passes for elected officials in France, England and Spain lately?
and Canada !
Warren’s new name: Lying Sackawageea.
The Demoncrats are exhausting to watch in their refusal of the truth of things smacking them right upside the head. I seriously don’t know how they sleep at night knowing they’re going to get up the next morning and lie, lie, lie.
Seared conscious makes sleeping easy, perhaps.
Lying Sackahorseshizzle
She speak with fork tongue.
Most snakes do.
He was outstanding and gave a class on how you handle these lying hypocrites. Good to see, especially after the way handled the nuts in the House.
He does the same thing to them on the Sunday shows. It’s awesome.
I’m having some trouble parsing how exfiltrating illegal alien workers thereby pushing American wages upward can cause a decrease in inflation.
Conventional wisdom for my whole life (73 years) has held that increasing labor costs drive inflation upwards.
Fewer people around to buy stuff will reduce demand on said stuff.
But the people remaining having higher wages will cause retailers to raise prices.
Something they’ve never failed to take advantage of.
Honest competition in the marketplace would go a long way to rectify that.
Unfortunately, most market segments are dominated by only a handful of corporations. Antitrust enforcement would be a godsend for all of us, and have the multinationals squealing everywhere.
So true R F. Big Food needs to be broken apart like the rest of the Bigs…banks, pharma, retail, and everything.
Competition and Innovation go hand in hand. Big leads to stagnation and higher prices. To pay a corporate leader 200 million is a bad joke.
You’re missing the demand side for daily use stuff.
Fewer leeches will lower the tax burden.
Who pays the bills for the displaced American worker? Half of all immigrants are on welfare. One out of eight people receive food stamps.
Higher wages do not contribute to higher costs of goods if the labor is more productive. Non-productive work creates inflation- when you pay more but receive nothing more.
Or, when you print more money- when you increase the supply, its value per unit decreases- it becomes worth less- so workers demand more of it, while offering nothing more.
And, when more of your earnings are taken from you to pay for those who do not work, the cost of production is increased- paying more in taxes but receiving nothing more.
Covid was a stealth way to increase wages. The government paid people to not work. It was the start of the inflation that we have experienced. Then it was compounded by increasing the money supply and flooding the country with illegals.
For every 3 illegals hired you have to hire one to supervise just to get the hole dug.. That’s 3x$12 and 1x$20.. That comes up to $56 per hour to dig a hole when you could have paid two guys $25 ph each that could read the color coding speak to same language and not cause the damage to everything else running beside your hole.. that’s how..
With wages rising the working folks will be fine. Us fixed income folks will suffer a bit and then die off. I am more than willing to suffer a bit. The President helped us by not taxing Social Security.
In isolation it would. But including other factors like decreasing transportation costs, decreasing rents, decreasing input costs, can lower prices while wages rise.
You’re ASSUMING that labor costs are going up. American workers are historically the most productive and efficient. They turn out more goods per hour (or whatever unit of measurement) so even with higher wages the cost per item can go down. One negates the other.
Then by eliminating the number of people in the population via deportations it lowers demand, lowers fraud, lowers taxes needed to fund services that illegals were abusing.
It begins to snowball.
Inflation drops.
And if we can lower crime prices will drop. Who do you think pays for shoplifting and waste when “certain people” ransack stores?
The very large majority of shoplifting/looting is not being done by the people who are being deported, it’s being done by people who were born right here.
If I may ask, what does that have to do with your original question ,stating higher wages cause inflation.I will tell you nothing ,other deflecting the conversation.
I have never seen a Somali being stopped at the door to Walmart and taken to the back room with her basket of stolen goods. Same color, but not the same. Eyes are not as big and round and teeth are near normal of the ones caught.
They don’t bother with penny already theft
. It has to be big league.
With the addition of millions of foreign grifters, the black community was quickly relegated to ‘second wives club’ status. They noticed that they no longer mattered.
So were the elderly, who rely solely on social security and medicare payments, kicked to the curb, so to speak. All of these Americans will greatly benefit from the mass deportation of foreign grifters. No doubt about it.
Whether they realize it or not, President Trump has thrown a lifeline to all American citizens, especially our “forgotten men.” Suddenly, we ALL matter again!
And speaking of who matters, the black community would be well rid of this BLM albatross that keeps them on the dimmierat reservation. Celebrate culture? Sure! We all do that! Welcome to America!
We are all part of the American fabric, a colorfully woven tapestry. Life here was a rough start for *all* of our Ancestors, but they still came over here in droves. Why? Because American *citizens* (not foreign grifters) have endless opportunities here like nowhere else in the world!
I repeat: American *citizens* have endless opportunities here like nowhere else in the world!
Correct. That’s why I said “certain people” and why I broke it out in a separate paragraph at the end.
🤦🏼♂️
Inflation is a measure of currency value and is determined by the available money supply. Period. Print more money, and the value of the currency drops proportionally. That is inflation.
Price on the other hand is determined by supply and demand. Increasing labor may lead to higher prices (see impact of $15/hr min wage on the price of a “Happy Meal”), but if other input costs are dropping they may not. Ultimately the limit on price is the customers willingness to pay. Do you really want to drop $10 on a Big Mac?
Charles, they are on public assistance programs. Their spending is not part of normal economics. Their spending is like massive government spending done by millions instead of congress.
You’re welcome.
The democrats are running out of Outrage Talking Points.
Affordability, Epstein Files, Crime Stats, Anti ICE, pro illegal criminals, transgenders, tariffs are going to be the end of us, and more. They’ll circle back to Stormy Daniels.
Democrat Outrage Talking Points are a “renewable resource.” The more they use, the more they produce.
“no reservations” 😂😂😂
Someone posted that Scott Bessent was his Spirit Animal.
I completely get it.
As absurd as Warren is, Maxine Waters gives her a run for the top prize.
She told Secretary Bessent to “Shut up!”…
To which he shot back, ” Maintain some level of dignity.”
Also this…
A clearly non compos mentis Waters: “Did you say Trump’s tariffs are INFLATIONARY?”
Bessent” Uhhh…No.”
Waters: OK, we have a New York Times article…
Bessent: “New York Times?”
I must say that in both cases, he looked as if he was really enjoying himself.
Warren: “I’ll ask you a question to respond to in just a sec”
Nearly two minutes of bloviating later… still no question, time runs out.
There should be a strict rule for these hearings a question is asked, no speeches, and the person the question is directed to is allowed to give a full answer.
If the rule is violated the questioner is told to leave the hearing and never come back.
Enough with the theatrics and rude behavior.
The silliness has become solely campaign ads and fundraising. The performative BS is sickening. Pass laws and manage this constitutional republic in an appropriate fiscal sense.
What happened to “Robert’s Rules of Order?”
Get rid of the cameras. Make people read again.
You’re right. It’s supposed to be a “hearing”.
If they would listen they could do their job better.
That would eliminate every Dem on every committee.
“Stands with Fisters” never ceases to amuse…
He’s a really strong asset
Babble on sister
I think Pocahontas had a little too much to drink.
Her wig looked like it didn’t fit quite right. Maybe she had a bit too much vino before the hearing? Or maybe her head grew and she hasn’t noticed yet.
May The LORD ABUNDANTLY BLESS You, Secretary Bessent!
No sense of humor. Her Consumer Financial Protection Bureau gravy train has only netted her somewhere between 7.5 and 12 million, and now everyone knows it was a scam. Boo hoo, it sucks to be a hypocrite like you.
Warren is such a glutton for punishment. She’s too stupid to realize that she’s stupid.
I can’t help but feel sorry for the people in Massachusetts.
Not me.
The producers should pack up and leave. Massacred Massachusetts. Massachusetts is a lost cause. New England should be ceded to Ottaw, would go a long way to fixing our elections. New England really brings nothing to the table, I think some salt domes are up there for SPR.
Not me. They keep re-electing her. They deserve what they get.
Lets take a serious look at all electronic voting machines, absentee ballots, and ballot chain of custody, before ever using the phrase “They keep re-electing her” again.
Mr Bessent is a godsend. The Republicans in the house and senate are useless.
If a female actor is an actress, is a female senator a senatress?
Just curious.
In Latin, the feminine of Senator would be Senatrix.
If the Senator is a Republican, it is a doormattress, male or female – Richard Burr, for example – but whatever benefits the Republican Senator receives for assuming a doormat position do not redound to the constiuency.
Love Bessert as a brother, however, we need to get diesel to 2$ a gallon and drop interest in May, this place will be on rocket fuel steroids.
“……….we need to get diesel to 2$ a gallon…………”
Not an easy thing to do with the refining costs of making today’s super duper ultra low sulfur diesel. Doesn’t matter if it still tastes great, and has a third less calories, it’s still much more expensive to make than regular diesel.
More access to Venezuelan heavy crude should help diesel availability. In the meantime they did relax diesel exhaust fluid rules which should help.
https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/iowa-state-fair-epa-administrator-zeldin-announces-diesel-exhaust-fluid-def-fix
Seems to me that gal won’t shut up enough to let bessent even begin to respond,, sounds about typical for those cats,rats,d-crats,, whatever they are
Insufferable.
Make a parlor game of it. I turned off the sound and counted the number of times she either
said “Donald Trump” or “Trump”. I counted 12. She has to have either former NPR “journalists”
or Stephen Colbert’s “joke” writers on retainer. Have long noticed that they have to mention
Trump by name an inordinate amount of times. Helps reinforce the 2 minute hate.
Interesting to see Judy Shelton in the audience.
The lying hag pretended to be an Indian to get everything she has ever had. Nothing else need be said.
I watched this whole hearing. It should be illegal the way that the dems present themselves in these forums. It is the same old song every time. Threats against anything and everything that the R’s are doing, in power or out, and if you even try to push back, it is nonstop “reclaiming my time, reclaiming my time”. Psychopaths. All of them.
Prices go up 22% under Buyden (which IMO is a VERY low estimate) and she’s complaining about a 2% annual increase under Trump???
22% lol… everything went up 100-200% under those Crooked Democrat pieces of scum.
Inflation has many components.
Education for example has gone up significantly more than inflation for decades. Is Sen Warren upset about that? Same with medical costs. Is Sen Warren upset about that? In fact Trump has just done what no President (without a magic wand) has ever thought of doing in bringing medication down by very significant factors.
What has Sen Warren done for the American people other than consistently raise taxes?
If we could deport enough bad drivers ( live around the corner from Clarkston, and you’ll
know exactly what I mean) we could bring down car insurance. The cost of car insurance
around Atlanta makes a bad crack habit look cheap.
My insurance went up 60% when I registered my vehicles in Georgia. On top of that, I found it prudent to buy the maximum uninsured motorist insurance due to all the illegal aliens in the state.
Did she ever stop pontificating and actually ask a real economic question??? She asked if the president would sue someone?? How the hell would he know the answer to that ??? Pure show for local TV and CNN sound bite material. So unserious she deserves to have her paycheck cut.
Insufferable.
Senator( not an Indian) Liz- excuse me but you are a total idiot. And the voters in Mass. that vote you in are – well idiots too.
I live in Massachusetts. And I assure you that elections in Massachusetts are totally rigged.
You can learn a lot from a dummy, and boy is there a lot to learn from her!
Wow, Fauxcahontas digging deep here, trying to figure out if Trump was joking or not about suing the Fed chair. Seriously, if you said “a horse walks into a bar…” she’d ask “what did it have to drink?” not “what’s the punch line?” The hubris of this idiot, to vote for and cheer on the inflation production act, then complain that Trump doesn’t have a magic wand to reverse the trillions of dollars printed by her and Biden. Next, I’d love to see how apoplectic she’d get if there were a serious movement to abolish the fed – which is a shady, anti-constitutional CORPORATION – in other words, just the kind of thing Fauxcahontas says she hates so the sheeple will look the other way while she votes to make them and her filthy rich. I just wish he’d really got her riled up; I love her bloodhound howling at the moon impersonation!
This would be terrific theater, except there are people (people I know personally) who think she’s brilliant, fighting the man, doing great things for America, or Turtle Island, or something….
Oh, and I almost forgot, I remember paying $5.25/g for diesel under Brandon – caused directly by his executive action to shut down pipelines and exploration; I think the highest I’ve paid in the last year is $4/g, and I paid less than $3/g recently. That definitely helps offset the slight continuing inflation in food prices, but instead of being happy, I bet Fauxcahontas is heap big mad the orange man will wake up ManBearPig again!
So glad to hear that Sen. Warren is ready to join the Republicans in repealing the Affordable Care Act! That’s been unaffordable for families for 12 straight years.
After that, they can tackle social services fraud, which may be pulling in more $$$$$$$$$$ than Hollywood.
I believe the definition of inflation is the increase in money supply.
Bessent! We are watching the birth of a legend!!!
Warren to Bessent, “I cut it twice and it’s still too short…”
Bessent to Warren, “Keep trying!”
Elizabeth “Queen Karen” Warren.
Every time I see one of those Karen videos I think of this despicable woman.
The Fake Indian needs to retire to the reservation. This woman herself has been…HER words, a HOAX…a SCAM...and a CON JOB on the people of Massachusetts and the country since her first day in office.
AND not only is he intellectually and professionally light years ahead of his snotty would-be detractors, his glasses are just way more hip than theirs.
So is his taste in clothes.
I love to see him having such a good time.
He ’bout melted that new face lift right off maxine waters yesterday.
Scott’s hot stuff.
Lizzy remember for more than 2 years the Biden inflation (highest inflation in 40 years) was called “transitory” by you Dems?
Although I can’t remember which Dem said it, yesterday I watched a video that said inflation during Joey Bag-O-Donut’s regime was totally due to Covid and supply chain issues. That poor dead horse! 😂
Her voice is so annoying, it grates on my last nerve.
It sounds like she gargles with dust.
0.o
That gal gives me a headache!
These committee interviews are a joke. Apparently the premise is for Democrats to read their statements without any questions, and when a question does arise, they talk over Bessent so it’s impossible for him to answer. Grandstanding.
Urgent Press Release from the Office of Senator Liawatha –
“Under Biden, due to Trump’s prior mangling of the economy, egg prices went from 2 cents each to 8 cents.
Thanks to Biden’s masterful response, egg prices stabilized at 8 cents.
Then Trump seized power again. This time he waved his magic wand and eggs prices went to 4 cents each.
Now Trump will lie about this and claim credit but the plain fact is that 4 cent eggs are twice as unaffordable as 2 cent eggs.
More deceptive lies from 34 time convicted felon Trump!”
👎
That was sarcasm, Margaret.
Liawatha😂😂😂
Men need to stop being respectful by default to women. Bessent needs to feel freer to interrupt her and speak over her. She’s a liar and an idiot.
Bessent is a tremendous cabinet member and definitely a favorite of mine. It seems President Trump’s cabinet picks this time were chosen not only for their expertise but also toughness.
Most of them..we know the exceptions.
Warren wasn’t complaining — she knows exactly where to mine for the most votes ahead of the ’26 midterms.
Did we not learn that “Affordability” won them a sweep in Virginia?
