If you watched the hearing in its entirety, you would know that the answer to your question is that Marco’s true allegiances lie to the USA. While the democrats were attacking him, Marco sat patiently and responded intelligently to each individual. Hollin from MD and duckworth were particularly caustic.
Don’t be so easily fooled , Bill Barr as Trumps AG also came across as very competent and responded intelligently to each individuals questions when he was questioned by congress . As we all know he was always an enemy and was on the Deep States side.

I have to agree with you. I think Rubio can do the right thing for the US, and do it well, but only with a sword held over his head by one who understands him the dynamics of his past. For some unknown to me reason, his family’s history in Cuba and US can not made clear and that is worrisome. He is no help with this either. For this reason I do not think he should EVER be president or vice president. Something is not right with him.

His final retort at Kaine was fantastic. That’s worth watching. Kaine’s lame comeback was, “Nice try” – when in fact it was just the other way around: Kaine tried some silly snark (which was the actual “nice try”) that Marco swatted down with astute brilliance.

It would be a win if they all supported each other and Trump/MAGA but cordially disagree on some of the finer points. I just don’t see JD staying as VP if he doesn’t get the nomination. It could work with Marco as president and JD moves to SOS. I think I would like to see Marco in a domestic role like DHS for a year or so. Lets look forward to the inevitable reshuffle of cabinet for a fine tuning. Reward the best and challenge others in other roles.

It is more than difficult to win a Senate seat without owing somebody for the campaign contributions and not be “privileged” in representing their interests over your voters.
And that completely ignores that Committee assignments are for sale from the senior leadership.
Just as it’s written … “Senator” Rubio spent 14 years repaying his obligations to those who put into the Senate.
No mystery there … there was a reason for the “Little Marco” moniker in 2016.
It will be interesting to see where Secretary Rubio, VP Vance and the other few Cabinet appointees actually performing their jobs … as well as the even fewer in Congress representing their constituents … end up in 2028.

Gosh, he’s amazing. It was one of the best Committee hearings I’ve watched lately.
With the exception of about 5 Dimms, this was an adult, factual hearing. Interesting that a majority Committee members are – drum roll – white males. With the exception of Duckworth (hysterical, overwrought, emotional female, IL), it was a steady, polite hearing.
Marco cannot be cornered. He is humorous, able, astute and quick witted. I love JD, but I think Marco could be “The One” in ’28.
I remember watching Rubio back in 2013 when he made his first debut as the rebuttal for Obama’s State of the Union speech. He got so nervous he got the dry mouth and had to reach down on camera and take a swig. The Left was unmerciful to him for that. The man has come a long way.
