During an interview in Detroit with “CBS Evening News” anchor Tony Dokoupil, President Trump responded to the accusation that his success in foreign policy is distracting the administration from focusing on domestic policy objectives.
To be clear, I do not assess any reasonable credibility to this type of claim. Factually, the closed border, growth in real wages, containment of inflation, use of tariffs to change corporate behavior to benefit Main Street, expanded growth in GPD and American manufacturing, the shrinking of the trade deficit, a smaller budget deficit, ongoing ICE operations and deportation goals, etc. are all happening at the same time President Trump is delivering on foreign policy issues that tie into all the above. Economic Security is National Security.
Yes, the Dept of Justice under Pam Bondi, and the FBI under Kash Patel, is not performing at the same level of skill and urgency as other cabinet heads. This is frustrating. That said, Bondi and Patel also took over these two agencies following a decade of work by Barack Obama, Eric Holder and their allied Lawfare operation, and they never forcefully took the public position to emphasize the corrupt nature of the institutions they lead. On the domestic agenda DOJ and FBI are the weakest links; they are also the institutions closest to the DC UniParty operation.
That said, nothing about this issue will change as long as Chief of Staff Susie Wiles is setting the day-to-day agenda. However, I have been told this message has penetrated the membrane constructed around the Oval Office. Approximately ten days ago, President Trump became aware of scale and scope of the MAGA frustration. This background is most likely the reason Wiles was unable to block Tucker Carlson’s White House visit on the day of the oil executive roundtable.

COS is a critical position to a well functioning White House. Each President struggles to find the balance that works for him. The first time, too much infighting was permitted. That isn’t a problem now. At least not overt. Who knows who anonymous sources are.
She may be going too far to block information from getting to the President. That is why he gets blindsided by things like our concerns over Epstein.
But, except for the Department managed by her bestie, all of the Cabinet are marching in lock step with Trump’s agenda instead of doing their own thing. And doing so in record speed.
The good she does probably way outweighs the bad. It will take a lot of bad to accumulate before she gets tossed.

The MAGA voter base perceives that too much attention is being paid to foreign policy at the expense of the MAGA domestic agenda. The consequence of this perception will be MAGA voter apathy resulting in a Democrat/UniParty blowout victory in the 2026 mid-terms.
We have in the examples of Bush 41 and Bush 43 what happens when a president actually does forget his domestic agenda commitments and actually does focus on his foreign policy accomplishments. The voters turn to the opposition for relief.
In spite of the lack of action in the DOJ/FBI sphere of Trump’s domestic agenda, his other accomplishments are substantial. But the rank and file of the MAGA voter base doesn’t know about them.
Because Susie Wiles is opposing the heavy-duty communication efforts and the urgently-needed steps needed to counteract MAGA voter apathy well before the 2026 mid-terms arrive, she is not serving either the President or the MAGA movement well.
She is who she is. She will not support what needs to be done proactively to address the problems with the upcoming mid-terms. And so she must be sent down the road, now, before it is too late.

As I understand (or was taught many years ago in High School) the DOJ is supposed to operate independently from the President even though part of the Executive Branch. The FBI did the job when J Edgar Hoover was Director.
He got crosswise with our “congress” by investigating several congressional politicians that were thought to be taking bribes.

I believe there are around 10,000+/- total attorneys at the DOJ. That includes the 93 (USA) United States Attorney offices and around 6,300+/- Assistant US Attorneys(AUSA) that work for the USAs’ offices.

I have always thought that people who eventually get protested over that they, appointed by PDJT, whether recommended by ‘trusted’ sources or not; there is a key factor that governs how issues with such appointments cannot be done by PDJT alone, nor right away.
It has always been shown that time cannot be definitively set; it has always shown to be the key factor when what has always been couched as “bad judgment on PDJT’s part” turns out to be successful and final. Despite increasing criticism of PDJT’s bad judgment over so-and-so’s appointment or action/inaction.
PDJT cannot be the one to reveal what he already knew nor take action based on mass protest that these these people cannot stay within the administration. Nobody would ever believe PDJT other than give both sides fodder for more grievances. We have seen this so many times, in so many scenarios to know better. They’ll still accuse him of being the dictator, doing something he has no authority over, or that it is unconstitutional .. blah blah blah.
PDJT has demonstrated concretely that he knows what to do first that is of necessity; then only what is possible when the ‘right’ time arrives. How many people know of Susie Wiles, Bondi and Patel’s past stances/records, short of what they are seeing now? What are being revealed now are what we have seen from mass media? Media reports have always been of leftist attacks and from all who have losing positions – from Republicans and Democrats alike. Why is there silence of any criticism; if any, of Wiles from Democrats; or for that matter, Republicans and Rinos? WHY?
With more real evidence of what they did that people abhor, or started to have reservations about their being in the current Administration; these are only now getting volume and traction; getting the attention of people at large to look into and question the integrity/records of these appointments. This is how true justice can be brought about because even with proof, we know already it isn’t something for PDJT to reveal what he already knows, which would give away the imperative/preemptive action to take once by letting things play out and take action; only, when the time is right. Some could involve years – guess why PDJT has signed EOs that cannot be undone by any president; namely Democrats after he leaves office. (Yes, we see people saying he only has so many months left; statute of limitations, blah blah).
Time is of the essence when the right time comes to take the preemptive/imperative final one-time action to take. Comes the time when “receipts” are solidly in place; witnesses and records of these people who have already slated for removal, and even prosecutions. There may be pardons for some, perhaps?
A (one time only) clean surgery is an extensive bloody mess, at best. There is no question to if it does not work. That is only a total disaster when taken haphazardly/hastily; without clear goals and dealing with changing manifestations as they occur.

Sundance, tis true Trump has many great accomplishments stateside but I want to ask you about one of them; you predicted food prices would come down after the fall harvest in 2025 but I am not seeing it. Food prices are going up where I live with a few exceptions. What is your take on this?
I have done comparisons on items that I purchased prior to January of 2025 and now. In almost every case the prices are down. I used prices from Walmart and from a local grocery chain. I live in southeast Michigan.
In MN, beef, sausage, and lunch meat continue to go up. Our Cub foods has that basic sliced turkey deli meat for $9.99 a pound. A simple pack of smoked breakfast sausage is now running $8.00. Hamburger, 80/20, is $7.99lb.
I do see occasional sales of beef very well priced, tenderloin at $14.99 pound, but do not see any general downward direction of prices. I think many of the sales are maybe loss leaders just to get you in the store. I shop about once a week and tend to buy only what’s on sale.
I compared prices of items that I normally buy. Yes, beef prices are up (and mostly for reasons other than inflation – scarcity, for one). Ditto poultry. I never buy deli meat, so I wouldn’t know about that. By the way, Costco really doesn’t have sales.
Beef cattle supply is way down so prices are up. Egg laying chicken numbers have increased so eggs are back down. Crops have been healthy so veggies are down. Fruit still high(er).

I think if one looks beneath their words, the press is not saying “focus on the domestic.” They are really saying that they want death and destruction.
Death and destruction are sexy. They make people watch the news. No one watches the news to hear that inflation is down, Ford’s putting on a third shift, investment is pouring in, the stock market is up, none of that. Perception is reality. The MAGA voter base perceives that too much attention is being paid to foreign policy at the expense of the MAGA domestic agenda. The consequence of this perception will be MAGA voter apathy resulting in a Democrat/UniParty blowout victory in the 2026 mid-terms.

I’ve been in Republican Party politics off and on for more than fifty years. The Baris poll and the Rasmussen poll say the same thing — more than 50% of the MAGA voter base thinks Donald Trump is spending too much time on foreign policy issues and not enough time on the domestic MAGA agenda.
These polls confirm the opinions of many of the fellow MAGA followers I work with.
In spite of the lack of action in the DOJ/FBI sphere of Trump’s domestic agenda, his other accomplishments are substantial. But the rank and file of the MAGA voter base doesn’t know about them.
Trump and his team must shift his voter outreach gears and must begin a series of heavy-duty communication efforts to counteract MAGA voter apathy, doing so well before the 2026 mid-terms arrive, by-passing the GOPe Establishment to connect directly with the voters.
If Susie Wiles is blocking these very necessary actions, which many like me suspect that she is, then she is not serving either the President or the MAGA movement well, and should be sent packing.

I live in the DC area (since 1979) and I know a recently retired DOJ lawyer that is a Dem with extreme TDS. I attended a party at her house this past Summer filled with current DOJ lawyers and other Fed Gov employees. All were talking about playing the waiting game while resisting President Trump. That’s how I look at what President Trump has done so far, and I have no complaints.
MAGA Frustration = my dream the other night of being attacked by illegal aliens outside of an apartment complex and then other illegal aliens moving into my apartment and refusing to leave. I called the apartment manager and they were no help at all, same with the police; no one was coming to remove them. I watched my television shrink until it was small and cheap. That represented how immigration, both legal and illegal, had cost me personally over the past decades.
The corporatists worked with the politicians to make my city a dangerous place filled with illegal aliens and their crime while my ability to earn and the work opportunities that I would have had were simply stripped away from me by a horde both overseas (offshoring jobs to foreign nations and outsourcing work to foreign firms) and domestically (immigration, both legal and illegal) that the politicians profited to facilitate for those who’s only concern is to increase their wealth in a non-symbiotic manner as rapidly as possible no matter the cost to the nation or the workers who live in it.
MAGA frustration? Yes. We didn’t vote for the deep-state to lead President Trump on a guided world tour to run out the clock of his presidency: we voted for him and his administration to fix this country!
How wide is your world view and what is imperative (first) to fix American’s real problems? It’s not as if NOTHING was done. Some things will fall into place once the bigger one to excise is done, first.
Do I understand rightly that other than vote, isn’t there anything you can do and is doing for MAGA? Isn’t there anything MAGA; even if small, you could do, as part of MAGA? Or does just voting for MAGA stops right there?
“American’s real problems” primarily need to be solved in the United States. Venezuela and Iran don’t result in U.S. politician’s ceasing to feather their nests off the mass offshoring of U.S. jobs to foreign nations, the mass outsourcing U.S. work to foreign firms, and the mass in-sourcing of foreign replacement labor including legal replacement workers. There is no mechanism for the actions taken in Venezuela and Iran to auto-solve that.
Everything will go away if the DS is not prosecuted. You do realize their goal is to destroy? Do you think they want PT wins?

Her only job should be to get the truth in front of the President. At a minimum the competing arguments. Wiles needs to go. Chief of Staff is a tough job especially when she does not have the interests of the country or the President as her anchor.

The betrayal of sitting down with that reporter 12 separate times should have been enough to fire her IMO. Complete stupidity or complete betrayal, both should not be tolerated. Never liked the look in her eyes.
Wiles is always lurking in the background. Acts like she is above it all. I am not big on lawyers so that is another negative. Luckily, I have rarely had to deal with them.
She obviously in the low info catagory….she didn’t believe the election was stolen….those are low info people.

President Trump has forgotten more about focus than most people even knew existed. President Trump is the real-life John Wick of focus, discipline, and determination.
I agree w the criticism… when u look at The President’s initial rhetoric on attacking Venezuela and then on to attacking Syria, Iran, Cuba, Columbia & Greenland, it’s become a daily thing w his foreign policy statements. He can’t police the world and expect the legal voting majority to agree w and support the bzillion dollars required to achieve his foreign “policing” objectives.
It would seem to b in The President’s domestic / foreign policy interests to step back from the daily rhetoric of policing other nations and focus 100% on uniting America… this will b a deciding factor in the midterms.
