According to the latest news from the government of Cuba, two days of official mourning have been declared as they announce 32 members of the Cuban military and Intelligence services were killed in Venezuela while protecting Nicolas Maduro. There were no American fatalities.
REUTERS – HAVANA, Jan 4 (Reuters) – The Cuban government said on Sunday that 32 of its citizens were killed during the U.S. raid on Venezuela to extract President Nicolas Maduro for prosecution in the United States.
Havana said there would be two days of mourning on January 5 and 6 in honor of those killed and said funeral arrangements would be announced.
The Cuban government statement gave few details but said all the dead were members of the Cuban armed forces and intelligence agencies.
“True to their responsibilities concerning security and defense, our compatriots fulfilled their duty with dignity and heroism and fell, after fierce resistance, in direct combat against the attackers or as a result of bombings on the facilities,” the statement said. (read more)

Cubans have been in Venezuela since the 90’s. Under Chavez, their presence grew immensely. Iranians and other M.E. types have had a presence there, too.
Cuba gets oil on the cheap from Venezuela. They can’t pay for it; they are broke, terrible economy. One method of payment they have used is to supply the protection for Maduro using Cuban military and para-military personnel. This has been going on for years.
They collaborate on drug running, distribution etc.- essentially anything to keep adjacent countries out of their hair and ultimately, destabilize the US.
I wonder where the Cubans are refining that oil? Venezuelan crude is quite “sour” and heavy. Most of the refineries that can process it are located in the U.S.

In 12 hours time, here in the US, street marches with professional banners and hundreds of mounted placard signs demanding “Free Maduro”. Coast to coast these demonstrate the extent of our domestic “enemy within” population…..time to expose the organizers and where the funding comes from.
