The federal dept of Health and Human Services has announced the suspension of all childcare service payments to the state of Minnesota, pending investigative review and compliance audits.
The announcement follows several grassroots reports showing extensive fraud and corruption stemming mostly from the Somali immigrant community. Several taxpayer-funded assistance programs have been exploited. From daycares to nonprofits, immigrant communities in Minnesota now face multiple accusations of fraud, where they allegedly used state policies to take what some estimate to be about $9 billion in taxpayer dollars.
There are numerous indications the Minnesota fraud is only the tip of the iceberg. Several states with large migrant population are also suspected of similar activity. The Dept of Homeland Security, Federal Bureau of Investigation and HHS are now doing compliance audits to determine the scale and scope of the overall theft.
(VIA FOX NEWS) – The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will freeze all child care payments to Minnesota, the agency said Tuesday, amid the scrutiny surrounding alleged fraud involving child daycare centers across the state.
“You have probably read the serious allegations that the state of Minnesota has funneled millions of taxpayer dollars to fraudulent daycares across Minnesota over the past decade,” HHS Deputy Secretary Jim O’Neill wrote on X.
In a video message, O’Neill cited the viral video released last week by independent journalist Nick Shirley that highlighted alleged fraud involving Minnesota childcare and learning centers.
[…] In an effort to combat fraud, O’Neill said he ordered that all Administration for Children and Families payments made across the country require justification and receipt or photo evidence before money is sent to a particular state.

I would say, with an annual (per year!) spend of $7,010,000,000,000 (Oct 2024 – Sep 2025), and 15% of that is interest on debt which must be paid, 59% is Social Security, Medicare, Income Security and Health, 14% is Defense;

I can’t vouch for the numbers you cited, because no one knows for sure just how much waste, fraud, and abuse (FWA) there is in the Federal government. Nor do we know how much FWA there is in State, local governments, and quasi-governmental organizations.
What we do know (suspect) is that it’s likely to be much worse than what is being reported.

My .02 suggestion: make use of your search engine and determine how many daycare centers are in your area. I just came up with a list for my own city. There are 37, as of last October. And I have the names of the centers. I could use the WA state DOL web site to capture business licenses, determine when the centers first registered as a business, and if a corporation or LLC, ascertain the names of the governing body. I could idly drive by each center during different times of the day just to see if there are children present. Or not.
Do they have linkedin profiles? Facebook pages? Instagram? Twitter? YouTube? Do they have their own website?
If so, they are probably legitimate.
As a retiree, I have time to do this investigation. As an American who is pi$$ed off about our country being defrauded, I have enough righteous anger to do this investigation.

I believe Mr. Shirley and no-last-name David didn’t just crack the fraud door open again, they blasted it off its hinges. And by doing that, they’ve given individuals a huge opportunity to perform our own investigative reporting within all legal boundaries.
There are roughly 20,000 incorporated areas in the U.S. – cities, townships, villages — and roughly 80,000 daycare centers. Far too many for just two men to investigate on their own. Probably most of those centers are legitimate, but Mr. Shirley / David have already proven many are not. It’s the “nots” I thought John and Jane Doe America could check out. Since I reside in a deep blue state, I am quite sure my state legislators will do absolutely nothing to ascertain which centers are bogus.
Respectfully, there is no way I would sacrifice my right to vote as a form of protest. The John and Jane Doe America investigations would in fact be a form of protest.
It’s entirely possible l’m just spinning my wheels here, but I am weary of watching our nation decline. At least this time I can actually do something that, coupled with the efforts of others, might result in making a difference.

gulfaddict, I suspect the seeming lack of interest is a self-defensive posture. By that I mean — at least for me — the magnitude of the corruption makes me feel impotent. What can one person do? sort of mentality. But with regard to the daycare centers, they offer a specific “target” for investigation and can be broken down into manageable increments – first by state, then by city or town. So instead of dealing with a faceless behemoth, Mr. Shirley and “David” have shown us what individuals might accomplish.

The report fraud website will take care of the States and named fraud businesses and other nefarious organisations by verifying, data gathering and investigating with updates and notification to Noem, Homen for ICE arrests and all those in PDJT’s admin staff in charge of and staff projects taking care of the respective appointments.
I don’t think they should be inundated with citizens fraud reports directly given the sacle of the fraud and more states being put under the microscope. We can always check the faqs or request our submission for updates (if they allow submission verifications – again, volume problems may be the first setback to facilitate for us making sure our submissions get to the top brasses with no middle men involved. I can see they will not be able to respond to mass submissions to every individual who does this; especially when there are multiple fraud cases they have to work on first.
Sitting at home without risking being beaten up or followed home or murdered. Time most of us have, to a greater or lesser extent. How much this whole stinking sh** affects all of America, depends on every one to rid this country of this evil – not just where it affect us where we are, or those with children, all who legitimately may be on all kinds of assistance; with nothing to lose nor taxes to pay; those with jobs/businesses, etc. If every one do their even limited time bit, we will see more more jobs created; presumably working in all the departments under this Report Fraud Citizens program. Heck, how many veterans and old folks, the young who have been unable to find employment can hope at last to productively/constructively tie them over difficult times as as well as serve their fellowmen.this country. Cut off ALL Federal funding pending a complete audit going back 10 years….

The states can use their own money if they can’t document their spending as lawful.
This is the key here. The States allow illegal immigration, allow them to vote in federal elections, to receive federal funds, to get drivers’s licenses and CDL’s. They release violent criminals.
It is time to stop federal funding for everything except things like roads, military, social security (can’t just shut that off). No more federal for schools. daycares, healthcare.
Allow the states to BUY healthcare plans from the federal government if they can’t find better deals from private entities.
This idea that we all have to fund corrupt States who refuse to live within their means needs to stop.
And repeal the 17th amendment. That’s where we went wrong.
All federal elections need to comply with federal law. Proof of citizenship, proof of identity. Paper ballots and same day voting for all but US military.
The only problem with this is citizenship is federally verified by the Social Security Administration (SSA) or United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USCIS) and they have been providing fraudulent data to State government agencies for years. Workers from local welfare started calling the IT department in 2010 asking why undocumented (illegals) benefits had increased (via a tax paid interpreter). They were told because they had been non qualified immigrants and now per the federal government they were now U.S. Citizens. They reported they were not citizens and did not apply to be citizens and didn’t want to be citizens. The worker would change it back to undocumented and the federal interface would change them back to citizen. The State then changed the system to no longer allow a worker to change their status from citizen to undocumented if Federally Verified. The State was well aware that these welfare recipients were illegal and ineligible for benefits.
I would agree but they couldn’t properly audit the War Dept. It still lacks a proper audit to this day.
So does the FBI and CIA……Patel stopped DOGE. Even blocked the questionnaire about employees task completed.
No one asks the question why, if 80% of Somali are on welfare then why are they so many daycares needed?

Since the Feeding Our Fraud centers have been closed, owners prosecuted, and many imprisoned now, where are all of the millions of starving children in the Twin Cities?
Where are the bodies of the dead children lining the street? Were they quietly disposed of in mass burials?
Millions or at least hundreds of thousands of them can’t be hidden. Nor tens of thousands, thousands, nor even hundreds. Have we heard of dozens? How about just one child that was getting food during that time that hasn’t been eating since. Just one.
Never mind that many of these joints that were serving thousands PER day, EVERY day, there were never any parking problems, traffic jams, nor traffic accidents. Were they also serving thousands per day during blizzards and heavy snow storms? How about holidays?
Any basic analysis would’ve pointed right to fraud.
And so what is Congress doing? They’ve got a bill to fund HHS with $5 to $6 billion to fund migrant programs. The Senate bill has more funding than the House but both are stupid. On the Senate side you can thank Susan Collins, John Kennedy and Bill Haggerman plus others. They’re on the Senate appropriation committee.
Congress and the Senate are responsible and approved fraud and knowledgeable of this fraud in many states including many other elements of government.
Our government agencies have no problem paying terrorists to take out our military children.
So we just skip over the fact that also being exposed is the overtaxation of Americans? It needs to be right up there alongside the fraud exposure because the government has had so much taxpayer money they are beside themselves to create ways to give it away. My wife has a friend, not in Minnesota, and her job is to visit these type of facilities regularly on a random bases to make sure that they are legitimate.
I had to jump through legal hoops and spend 3K to remove my mother-in-law’s name from a 170K mortgage but in Skinneapolis I can claim to be feeding 6K kids a day at a 35 seat restaurant and Walz will gift me 2 million no questions asked as long as I’m a 3rd world savage that votes the right way.

Every recipient of state or federal funds should be examined – Child care, Medicaid, Medicare, Hospitals, Housing, EBT, WIC, school funding, school lunch funding, job training, job subsidies, NGOs, etc. You can bet it’s all dirty. Triage as necessary to avoid diluting investigative resources.
It is impossible that they did this without the knowledge of government officials . I would be surprised if the slush fund from this fraud was not spread far and wide.

Since 2009, IRS has admitted to 10’s of BILLION in fraudulent returns and Federal Tax Credit payouts, which IRS actually said they COULD ID but refused to pursue internally as well as refused to turn over to law enforcement … and … the IRS still PAID out even though IRS KNEW the payouts were fraudulent.
IRS has yet to allow itself to be analyzed by a DOGE process.
