During a press conference on Wednesday, a Providence-area radio host, Chas Calenda, directly confronted Brown University officials and law enforcement with information he has received about the school intentionally disabling surveillance systems due to DEI concerns.
The response from university officials and the Providence Mayor indicate Mr. Chas Calenda’s informed accusation and question is directly on target. WATCH:
🚨 HOLY CRAP! A Providence, RI radio host just accused Brown University of TAKING DOWN security cameras in an effort to SHIELD illegal aliens
If this is true, this is a MONUMENTAL scandal.
This must be thoroughly investigated NOW! pic.twitter.com/kXyY51zDZF

In addition to information we previously shared {GO DEEP} reflecting requests from various “civil rights” and “humanitarian” groups who demanded Brown University disable their surveillance system, additional information about the issue comes via the Rhode Island ACLU making the same demand in October of this year [SEE HERE].
Brown University was under pressure from far-left groups as an outcome of concern the CCTV and school security system would be used by federal authorities to (a) identify radical leftists expressing antisemitic sentiments, and (b) identify the immigration status of persons on campus. It is not just isolated to Brown University.
Multiple municipal governments, private and municipal agencies have received the same demand in an ongoing effort to block Immigration and Customs Enforcement operations. The mass shooting on Brown University is leading to a larger public awareness of an issue that has been spreading rapidly in the last several months.
The claim by Chas Calenda is that his local sources within law enforcement are confirming the university cowed to the concerns of the civil rights groups, including the removal of cameras. This is why there is no recorded CCTV footage, and the university is talking gibberish in their efforts to avoid admitting what has taken place.
Brown University and Providence police have $8 billion liability reasons to be less than honest with the alarmed public. The political ramifications of the story are also complicating the issue for Brown University, as well as local and national figures.
Here is the full press conference. The key question comes at the very end of the video 49:20.
Has Vegas put out odds on how big the lawsuit might be yet?
Unfortunately no justice for the family coming but Cook University might send a message.
Should be a class action lawsuit against Brown Univ by all the students there.
Start a new Hillsdale College in New England.
The Lord knows we need one!
Providence has a brand new “Real Time Security System” (TM)
The expert in charge says “it’s too bad Brown didn’t subscribe to it with its on-campus cameras”
Brown University would have benefited from giving camera feeds to ‘real time crime center’: Former FBI operative
Every parent should be pulling their kids out of the School. This is
UNFORGIVABLE!
Why?
It’s a nice little Communist College with 90% Communist students. 90% of the parents know this and that’s precisely why they sent there children there.
The poor Republican girl from Alabama is the one we should care about at least from what we know so far. That may change in time.
The only ones at Brown University more toxic than the students are the admin and faculty.
There will likely be more then one class action lawsuit against Brown. There’s so many ways Brown was negligent. There’s not even a question regarding failing to meet reasonable standards, proximate cause, or foreseeablity. Browns’s actions simply cannot be defended. Brown’s defense attorneys will find a few legal whores to put on a show, but you can’t defend the indefensible.
Just saw the shooter was conveniently found dead from a self inflicted gunshot inside a storage facility.
How could they know it’s the shooter if all cameras were down and they didn’t know who it was ?
Plus saying it is not a U.S. citizen reeks of this whole damn thing being covered up.
All the students there?
So, Amy Carter went there.
Do she and ALL the other students who are 90% Left Wing, Woke idiots deserve equal money as the victims?
Given the general mental and socioeconomic makeup of Brown students, any settlements will probably be donated to Free Palestine!
Especially by the LGBQT students! 😉
Every college conducts campus tours, during which student admissions tour guides talk about all the measures the college is taking to ensure student safety. These measures include the “blue light boxes” that a student can use for emergency contact with campus security. If the college guides also claim that the college employs cctv coverage, but the college in reality decides to suspend cctv security without informing parents, and then injury or death or malfeasance results . . .
Exactly! I see this lawsuit happening.
They’ve already lost the liability lawsuit. If the murder and attempted murder victims’ families file wrongful death lawsuits, it’s GOING to come out in court.
Whether it was to protect illegals, protect anti-Jewish violent extremists, or protect their murderous thug shock troops, Brown U. stopped using the cameras TO PROTECT CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.
Remember, their violence is speech. Our speech is violence.
They’re also now criminally liable for the deaths, if they did indeed shut off the cameras at the request of leftist thugs.
…to protect Obama’s fellow travelers…
“…if I had a son.”
There is no duty to protect…..wake up.
Yes there is under title 8 or 10. Same law used in the rape cases
Where is the cases.
Wow. Great testimony. Almost stopped viewing when that asshole Ted Cruz started the clip.
University Liability: While the school-minor student relationship is clear, what about colleges and adult students? Courts are divided on whether universities have a special relationship that creates a duty to protect students from things like binge drinking, sexual assault, or off-campus crime.
If they have a campus police force then there is a general or reasonable feeling of safety and security people attending class would have. Successful civil trial would only depend on the ideological break down of the sitting jurist and how much they want to take it to “the man”.
Wrong…there is no duty to protect…….pay attention. We need to keep fighting for our 2nd Amend. Police are minutes away when seconds matter and even if they show up, they have no duty to protect.
Putting cameras that are disabled and then selling to parents and students that they are “safe and protected” with the implication that they cameras actually work is fraud. Having functioning cameras and THEN disabling them without letting the students and their parents know is an even bigger fraud.
That is why they don’t just come out and admit that they shut down the camera system and there is no video of the murderer anywhere on campus. THEY KNOW that the effed up to the tune of millions of dollars.
Wishful thinking. There is enough SC cases to provide otherwise.
That is relevant to law enforcement officers.
All cases not just government.
No wonder the Senator from RI lost his temper speaking from his chair in the Senate, telling the American people who suspect nefariousness to “shut up.” (Per Jesse Watters piece posted earlier by SD).
For him, billions are probably at stake.
That was a wild statement by the Senator. Never has it been effective to tell a critic to “just shut up”. In fact, it usually has the opposite effect.
We’ve heard several rants from Whitehead. This is not the first “open mouth, insert foot”.
Very true – “this is not the first open mouth insert foot”, but for the record the Senator’s last name is Whitehouse.
Sheldon Whitehouse.
Important to get it right in order to refer to him in the way in which deceased, former Providence Mayor Buddy Cianci did, “Weldon S*ithouse”, LOL.
10-4 Brown University is run by a bunch of losers. Brown University will pay for thwarting law enforcement and sacrificing the CCTV protection of students…bill
I understand that onne has the right to peacefully protest – but where is it writen thatt you can peacefully protest in “annonimity” ?
I’m hoping for conspiracy charges for all involved.
Disabling a “SECURITY” system to protect people who may or may not commit crimes should in this case come under the heading of “aiding and abetting “terrorist ” and require criminal charges. The murder of these people might not have happened IF the University staff had not disabled the system installed to protect them.
Don’t worry folks are SUPERP DOJ and FBI are on the case. We will colonize MARS way before we find out the truth here.
The Providence Police Department is in charge.
Oh really, and that is supposed to give me “warm fuzzies inside” about this! /s
The po-lice department aka the Keystone Cops?
The DOJ and FBI are NOT on the case because this does not fall within their jurisdiction. If the murderer had robbed a bank while murdering students then the FBI can get involved. If they discover that the murderer was part of a big financial conspiracy involving international money movement then the FBI can get involved.
Right now it falls under the Providence RI authorities.
Brown University receives federal funding. I’ll bet that a chunk of that tax money bought the CCTV cameras that were turned off.
The federal funding Brown receives gives the feds (President Trump) absolute power to take jurisdiction and sweep the local yokels out of the way.
President Trump should assert that jurisdiction forthwith.
The larger story is this: Violent communists hiding behind pretty words like “civil rights” and “social justice” hunting inconveniently smarter conservatives like prey.
“We don’t use the term ‘disabled’ in our campus community. If you’d like to rephrase the question, I’d be pleased to prevaricate for you.”
“Were there differently abled CCTV cameras on campus?”
Providence-area Radio Host Asks Brown University About Their Intentional Disabling of CCTV Systems
I would call his response an answer without answering.
Personally I couldn’t understand much of what because of his thick accent, but you could understand he avoided the question.
The memo sent to disable cameras is part of the lefts evil plot to take out TPUSA members across the nation at what the commies deem their hunting grounds, any college campus.
Ella was shot in the head 10 times !!!
10 TIMES is an inside targeted hit !!!
NOT – an “unknown” gay-Muslim spraying 40+ random shots at students !!!
Brown University knows who Ella’s murderer is.
I’ve not kept up on every detail of this case but if this is true it was personal. Whoever shot her had a vendetta against her and knew her personally. Now we see for sure that law enforcement is covering up this assassination.
Hit Brown University where it hurts, in student enrollment and endowment.
I stopped supporting my leftist Alma mater years ago and I told the phone solicitor why.
They don’t call anymore nor do I receive birthday cards. I do still receive the University magazine so I can see how radical they’ve become since I cut ties.
When I took up reading the Treehouse in 2013, after poor Jessica Chambers was set on fire and murdered in Mississippi, there were still earnest commenters who would suggest that if poor people would jist go to college and get a degree, all doors would open for them
It has taken a while but I think people are catching on to this criminal racket
MGB, Do you have a link or pointer to that info? THX.
I think of 10 shots, no matter how fast traveled, to hit a head possibly across a room or down room as if in a theater shape … with head and people movement etc…
That’s exactly the message the left is sending. Their radical ilk have murdered Charlie and Ella on college campuses. These are liberal strongholds and they don’t want conservative messaging on their bastions.
Commies are like rabid dogs especially when out of power. Violence is their means to gain and stay in power. We saw this in the 60s and witnessed the downfall of Venezuela. Many Americans lost big money there when the commies took over.
They’re really not interested in catching the bad guy, it seems. So much time has passed.
I worked for a company that was started and run by Brown U. profs.
In my seventy years on this planet, it was the most toxic work environment I ever experienced.
Folks, this is a great example why the 2nd Amendment is so important.
If the Due Process Clause does not require the State to provide its citizens with particular protective services, it follows that the State cannot be held liable under the Clause for injuries that could have been averted had it chosen to provide them. As a general matter, then, we conclude that a State’s failure to protect an individual against private violence simply does not constitute a violation of the Due Process Clause.
DeShaney v. Winnebago County 1989.
Terrorist violence.
Actually if you want the government out of your business, they it makes sense. That is why 2nd Amendment is key.
I believe these crap weasels know much more than they are putting out to the public. They don’t want to disclose the facts because it will reveal the shocking truth.
CCTV maintenance and installation companies are getting lot of requests for appointments from universities today.
Like we’ve been saying for years DEI = DIE.
I am afraid we want things both ways…privacy from Big Brother and yet, protection with the all seeing eye. We cannot have both and calls for cameras everywhere, due to tragedy, will expedite cameras all over to the rousing cheers of the populace.
The cameras people fought against in my city still hang from every single stop light intersection-but we are assured not used against us. One day, they will be used against us and it will be too late.
Instead of cameras all over a school, invading privacy, change the topic to how much security do you have on campus? How do you lock down classrooms to keep students safe in class and others out? What steps are you taking to keep people off campus who do not belong? What about student carry?
WE cant let the left dictate the subject/argument.
There is a difference in using security cameras to deter and solve crime versus harassing citizens with a constant surveillance state. Responsible leaders could walk that line.
Is there anything our Universities have gotten right over the last 75 years? Classroom time by actual teachers has dwindled. Classroom attendance by actual students has been shrinking. The subject matter in Classrooms has devolved into shouting matches between professors and students who know they aren’t learning much of anything. Classrooms are now filled up with foreign students who carry their grievances to class with them. An actual Classroom session looks more like a low level political convention than a place to learn stuff they need might need to know so they can function at an adult level.
The cost of education is going sky high for kids who want to learn, and down to nothing for kids who are just there to collect a paper decree of accomplishments to go with the scholarships they were handed to be there. The vast majority of the academic profession is staffed by “teachers” who were abject failures in the real world. The ones who were not failures won’t usually last 10 years in academia because they don’t conform to all of the stupidity surrounding them. But, don’t get me started on the subject of lower standards in higher education.
And many students have to take remedial English comp and remedial math because they can’t do the work in the basic freshmen classes.
Thank you.
sarcasm intended
Oh, I really liked the teaching assistant(s) giving a verbal lecture with a special linguistic accent / broken english
that made note taking ssslooow because it felt like the spoken words had to pass through an improvised translator located between the listening ears.
That’s when grading results of homework, or an exam, ‘on the curve’ was helpful to the whole class
(because ‘learning’ content was made complicated).
sarcasm ended
Learning to persevere through adversity was good.
[ and then there are those that found ways to get through a class – without attending. hmmm.. ]
Has the situation improved?
(the graduates seem ‘confident’, but the competence is a different matter)
I do not know
professors typically hand out a syllabus spelling out what is expected and how much each thing counts.
homework, quizzes, attendance, tests, final exam.
and they are all different.
Had an economics class that had three tests of equal importance but would take best 2 of 3. I aced the first two. And only took it as an elective. That class never saw me again after I got the score on the second test.
Had a blind professor who spoke out all the equations he wrote on the board. As class went on more and more people placed tape recorders and fewer and fewer people attended. The people I knew who did that spent much more time transcribing the lesson than the class actually took. The prof did have a tendency to drift up as he wrote, crossing over prior lines, but as mentioned, he said exactly what he wrote. Not hard to keep up.
Anyways each course is different and students adapt to do what is necessary to do well.
Maybe someone shares notes. Maybe the textbook is all that is needed. Maybe the absent students are flunking out.
It’s not a crime to take down a surveillance camera.
But it is a crime to take down a surveillance camera as demanded by a Soros/CIA front group in order to aid and abet terrorist attacks on campus.
Seems the CIA has a commie branch!!
or vice versa
The president makes over 3m a year? Wow. It was pointed out her informative press conference cost 12g. It would have been funny if it were not for the blood all over her hands.
Yes. I ache for the families of Ella and the foreign student, and those injured. This is NOT funny despite the laughable “authorities”
One observation about the university President and other appointed heads of departments is that all of them could have been DEI hires, certainly the President, and every chief of a law enforcement division—city, state, etc.,—was a minority. Coincidence? All the elected officials were white. Another coincidence? White guilt, anyone? A compact DEI “lab experiment” where they spent an hour tonight congratulating each other on their “outstanding” performance. Sad to watch.
The cameras weren’t “Disabled” by Brown, they are just “visually challenged.”
https://www.breitbart.com/2nd-amendment/2025/12/18/brown-university-campus-safety-chief-lost-previous-job-after-lack-of-credentials/
Brown University campus safety chief lost last job at University of Utah because of lack of credentials. And because he was being investigated for certain “criminal offenses.”
Open Society influence is quickly bringing what used to be Conservative Western States into the Communist Fold.
You need to post a transcript for the first video ; I could not understand but a single word or two what that reporter was saying ! I bet most others couldn’t either.
Agree
A Freshmen student studying in the Brown Engineering building gave an interview to a local news outlet yesterday.
He indicated that as the students were escorted by police they had to leave their phones and laptops. w The students had The students had to been given special clearance to fly by TSA. The student was the valedictorian of a prestigious local high school. Of note the student closed the interview talking about the need for more gun control.

Duty to Protect Think about this. Need need to protect our right to carry.
Every woke youngster will leave there with nearly $500,000 in debt, debt that HAS to be repaid. Their salary prospects are minuscule in comparison. I feel bad for them, but they all deserve it immensely.
This is how they make socialists. That debt is almost as unpayable as the national deficit . . .
This poor girl was deep behind enemy lines and never knew it. Many others are too and should now be reconsidering their daily lives.
If, in fact, the cameras on Brown’s campus were disabled purposefully (whether to protect illegals from federal intervention or not, since they will invariably lie about the reason), then that is plenty of reason to stop all federal $$ going to Brown and to claw back whatever federal funds have already gone there during the current fiscal year.
I don’t think the questioner was Chas Calenda.
Providence has a brand new “Real Time Security System” (TM)
Expert says “it’s too bad Brown didn’t subscribe its on-campus cameras to it”
Brown University would have benefited from giving camera feeds to ‘real time crime center’: Former FBI operative
Translation: former FBI official poses as expert in order to exploit horrific shooting and whore himself out by promoting the latest in dystopian surveillance which he almost certainly has a personal stake in.
How many other lefty universities are rebooting their CCTV system this week?
With all the cells phones the students have, nobody snapped a photo of something suspicious?
I haven’t heard that the police confiscated everyone’s phone. Did they? Are students even still on campus?
Have we seen any interior footage of the physics building, the classrooms, & the nearest exits?
Any photos of the probable entrance door?
The faces behind the podium are the faces of the Cultural Marxists.
Not all cultures are equal; it is plain to see ours is the best ever created and is the reason the Global Marxists want it destroyed.
We are at war.
This matter screams right to bear arms. Wake up everyone.
There is No Duty to Protect, even if a cop is standing next to you with his gun pulled.
In fact, I would argue that if the school cameras were ON, there is more of a duty to protect because it creates a special relationship. No camera, no duty to protect by special association.

According to this guy Fox News is reporting that according to leaks the suspect has been identified, a warrant has been issued, and there may be some connection to the MIT case.

It was over at Faux, too,…TGP has the arrest warrant listed in a headline as well…..
My thoughts…wake me up when the perp walk starts.
The families of the victims and the students, whether liberal or conservative, all deserve so much more than what has been in the news…

He used to be very good on RSBN.
Now his Agenda channel is monetized on YouTube, and not coincidentally he spends way more time reading superchats, explaining what he can’t do (because he would lose his superchat monetization, but he doesn’t explain that), and otherwise engaging in the parasocial behaviors live streamers engage in to increase superchat income, than he does on the news.
Yes, he’s an incredible loser.
He’s the go-to for the mainstream slant.
He can use other media feeds under the fair use laws, but he usually uses the Reuter’s feed and yells at his chatters when they suggest he tap into another media source.
Didn’t know he was once with RSBN.
He used to write for Sesame Street and Saturday Night Live.
His meltdowns are gold.
Sometimes he even hisses and spits.
And there are plenty of lib operatives in his chats to steer the narrative and praise him profusely.

What if…
What if it comes out that Brown knew of a credible threat against a specific student failed to act on it?
What if the threat came from a student whose profile was disappeared from the Brown website.
Law enforcement is seeking public assistance in identifying this person of interest in the Brown University shooting investigation.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/G8ZR-03X0AA54YT?format=jpg&name=900×900
In November 2015, a student carried out a stabbing attack at the University of California, Merced, injuring four people before being shot and killed by campus police. The attack occurred on November 4, 2015, in a classroom building on the UC Merced campus.
The attacker was identified as Faisal Mohammad, an 18-year-old first-year student.
Four people were injured: two students, a staff member, and a construction worker. All victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and eventually recovered.
Initially, the Merced County Sheriff suggested the attack stemmed from anger over being excluded from a study group. A subsequent investigation by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force concluded that Mohammad had been “self-radicalized” and inspired by the Islamic State (ISIS). His laptop contained pro-ISIS propaganda, and he had visited extremist websites. A handwritten 31-step plan, or manifesto, was found on Mohammad’s body. This detailed his plan to bind victims with zip-tie handcuffs, slit their throats while “Praising Allah,” and steal a police officer’s gun to continue the attack.
Brown will quietly settle with all those killed/injured with NDAs up the wazoo; u can bet other universities have also disabled their systems and are probably sprinting to turn them back on ASAP
Makes you wonder what the students should do.
After the Las Vegas massacre, outspoken witnesses began to have fatal car wrecks. We are dealing with psychopaths in powerful positions
Housing and educating illegals and terrorists and sitting in silence in the killing of this young woman should have a heavy price from Congress and the Injustice Department and their lapdogs in the Fan Belt Inspectors but they are involved.
But their silence and involvement speaks volumes
These aren’t universities. They are Terrorist Training Camps with endowments.
WE say the darkness may not have our children or their schools. We say our schools will teach the fear of Lord and our children will walk in Love and Wisdom. We reclaim our mountain of education from the darkness. We speak this this in Your Name, King Jesus.
We stand on Your Word:
Isaiah 49:24-26
Can plunder be retrieved from a giant, prisoners of war gotten back from a tyrant? But God says, “Even if a giant grips the plunder and a tyrant holds my people prisoner, I’m the one who’s on your side, defending your cause, rescuing your children.
And your enemies, crazed and desperate, will turn on themselves, killing each other in a frenzy of self-destruction. Then everyone will know that I, God, have saved you—I, the Mighty One of Jacob.”
Hallelujah!
The $3million President of Brown needs to go … after she/her testifies before Congress under oath.
Bet they’re already “lawyered up.”

Suspect reportedly found dead in storage shed… cue suspicious cat.
This may be the ugliest capitulation to the mob yet.
Brown University was one big Jeffrey Epstein cellblock.
The deceased suspect is 48 year old Claudio Neves Valente, a Portuguese national and Brown student. Why is a 48 year old a university student? And it’s been reported that he and the MIT professor went to the same university in Lisbon, not sure if at the same time.
I knew they had the fix in corrupted to the bone
Would bet the school leadership realized immediately they had tremendous liability over this issue. That’s why they weren’t forthcoming with info about the video footage available. They are not only grossly negligent but it looks like they broke the law that requires colleges to provide adequate security on their campuses and disclose info about security to prospective students. This is Fraud.
