Two gunmen armed with long rifles and handguns opened fire at a crowd of people celebrating the beginning of Hanukkah at Bondi Beach, Australia. 12 people were killed with approximately a dozen more wounded. The attack went on for well over ten minutes as the terrorist shot randomly into the crowd from a park bridge near the beach.
(NEW YORK TIMES) – At least 11 people were killed by gunmen who targeted a Jewish holiday celebration at Bondi Beach in Sydney on Sunday, in what the authorities called a terrorist attack. One of the shooters was also killed, the police said.

The shooting went on for ten minutes as police were extremely slow to respond. Incredible footage has surfaced of a random civilian running to tackle one of the gunmen and wrestle his rifle away. Alternate video shows the two men for over 10 minutes shooting from the area into the crowd.

Put another way, had the hero who disarmed him immediately killed him, after all he had no way of knowing whether he had a pistol on him or not, certainly no way of knowing about another gun on the bridge, then more lives would have been saved.

just reading a few days ago that Homeland expects that there are somewhere up to around 10-20K islamists who illegally crossed the border during the malarkey regime. And while I do understand and respect the view of Sundance about how this will likely be used to prop up another round of 702 and a Hoover of surveillance, I just don’t have a single idea of how to actually find these vermin without using some technologies that do and will likely make our freedoms less stable. I just don’t know how you find these people without a sweeping system…understanding these are likely people who are concealing their locations and identities. I think what we can all agree upon is that some kind of surveillance IS necessary but it also requires a discipline to not weaponized it for political or financial reasons or to conceal other crimes. That is really the core of the problem…ANY police methods can manipulated beyond the basic legal framework. It’s a people and institutional problem. I don’t have the confidence that any administration and its people have the kind of integrity to avoid the obvious benefits and temptations to use these sweeps for personal gain. It would however make it far less likely that it occurs if Congress would put some serious consequential teeth into the law for anyone abusing these programs. that is what is missing and of course we pretty much understand why Congress chooses not to develop that criminal code nor enforce it. plainly, the surveillance programs have given congressional members unlimited access to information that is very valuable…it’s like a ATM machine that pumps free money…and only Congress and its actors in the intelligence community have the pin codes for access. That is why Congress sets no serious consequence or has developed the kind of language that restricts the use of these technologies. They might explain it as “just think about the children” malarkey, but we know what is really going on.
anyway, having stated my opinion, it is going to be hard to track down these 10-20 K islamic jihadist death cult zombies without some seriousness in how to use these technologies to locate them. the conundrum is not lost on me.

I believe a key to “locating” and self deporting many illegal immigrants is to go after the benefit fraud. The magnitude of the fraud in every community is enormous. It often starts with EBT, which is a ticket to many other programs. The identity theft of legal SSNs that lead to enormous Earned Income Tax Credit ( EITC) Fraud would shock most folks; last estimate $33 billion. The tools are already in place to stop most of this fraud but it would disrupt the economies of most inner cities and immigrant “communities.”
The real key is to deny them all benefits of all kinds altogether. No jobs, no IDs, no welfare, nothing at all. It is the availability of all those various benefits that constitute the largest part of the draw bringing them here in the first place. Cut it all off and see self deportation begin for real. I read and watched the video on another site which included feedback from a poster familiar with rifles. Poster noted the Samaritan after taking the rifle did try to fire after pointing it at the Islamist and discovered the rifle was unfamiliar to him You’ll note the Islamist did turn and retreat not realizing the Samaritan set the rifle down. Samaritan did not “let him go” he simply did not know how to shoot the rifle.

This does not appear to be the typical “opportunity” attack. Multiple attackers working in a coordinated manner and who demonstrated extensive preparation and planning suggests a more extensive operation and a more developed network than we have seen in recent years.
The last sophisticated terror attack outside the Middle East that I can remember occurred in 2017 in Istanbul, which is barely (if it is at all) outside the Middle East/Israeli-Gaza theater. Since there have been several random/targets of opportunity attacks in the West, but none which suggest the level of sophistication we saw in the period between 2014-2017 when ISIS was at its zenith. The most prominent example being the Paris attack in November 2015.
I note several terror attacks have been reportedly prevented in the last few weeks. There have also been several smaller-scale attacks which have occurred- such as the National Guard shooting and the attack in Syria-which fall more into the “opportunity” category.
Combining that with the Sydney attack we appear to be entering another round of well-planned, highly-sophisticated, multi-network attacks in the West.
I would propose that roughly six years ago a series of events began which allowed the global “ISIS” network to rebuild and project its power. At that time (late 2019-early 2020) Western governments started to focus on covid pys-ops, prioritized the construction of domestic surveillance states, and directed most of their attention and resources towards Ukraine. During this period the conflicts in Afghanistan and Syria ended which released jihadis fighting in those areas, while the Israeli-Gaza war provided them with new energy, motivation, and recruits.
In hindsight, the last five years created a perfect set of conditions for the “ISIS” network to regroup.
Those last five years were also the epochal scourge which called itself the Joe Biden Administration.
