If this old jumper and jump master were still jumping I would prefer to jump the MC1-1B instead of the T-11 shown.
More hang time under that big chute means more drift so a higher probability of missing the DZ and more time as a target if you jump onto a hot DZ.
Also the T-11 rig with reserve weighs 53 lb. While MC1-1B with the older reserve weighs 30 lb.
Pretty important when your jumping with a heavy ruck, weapons, etc that adds another 90 lb. to your total load.

My Dad’s out of surgery for his abdominal aortic aneurysm, and in recovery. Doc and nurse said he’s doing fine and it went well. I’ll drive to pick him up early tomorrow afternoon, hopefully.
Just me and Mom here at the house tonight so I expect no sleep. She still goes in and out of extreme confusion regarding Dad’s absence, so it’s up to me with many gentle reminders.

I’m glad I moved here to FL when I did (2019) because who knows who’d be taking care of them, now. Little did we know then that dementia would set in, and so quickly at that. Besides, I’d likely have drank myself into the grave if I hadn’t come down, so it all works according to God’s will. I am thankful.

Had an aortic aneurysm surgery in 06. At the time I had no idea how serious and dangerous this kind of surgery actually is (1 in 4 people don’t survive this surgery. ) I’m so glad you’re dad came through the surgery in good shape. Unfortunately, my father didn’t make it. He had the same aneurysm I did and expired while in the ER . . . Our Lord has always been in my life. I felt his presence with me during the fraught time of my own surgery. I’m so glad Our Lord was with your dad.

I learned something after my mother passed away due to a ruptured aortic aneurysm, a doctor told me that they can be a hereditary configuration. I mentioned to my uncle (her brother) what the doctor had said so he asked his own physician about that, the hereditary part, and his doctor tested, found one, successfully operated to fix it.
So I made sure to mention that to all the cousins, just in case, and had myself tested at one of those Life Screening clinics that are held around the country throughout the year, so will mention it here, just in case.
And am very glad your Dad’s out of surgery and on the mend.
