The author of the article makes some great points. However, in my opinion, he leaves out one of the most important aspects of a believer’s faith…. Apostleship. It’s easy to say that I am going rededicate my self to being a Disiple (student) of Christ and His Word. Many of todays Pastors, Preachers and Teachers and Followers are singing to the choir (Believers)…
The commission is to put aside the fear, have faith in Christ, and to go amongst the non-believers and through Christ’s Word and by his example, show the Saving Grace of our Father and reveal The Way and The Truth to Everlasting Life through our Savior, Jesus Christ…
In my humble opinion, we are losing ground, not because we lack Disciples of Christ, but because we lack fearless faithful Apostles to confront the enemy.
When Christian leaders fear treading into enemy territory, or aquiese to the nonbeliever when they do, we reach this point where they surround us.
A solution is for the Desciple, who goes to the echo chamber every Sunday to hear a sermon given by a man or woman who fears to be an apostle (leader by example) and fears to teach Disciples to be Apostles, to put aside their fear and follow their commission to move beyond the false walls of safety and security and to march into the enemies lair with the goal to stop their expansion and to reduce their numbers by Holy conversion.
Listen… Nonbelievers are the anti-Christ, they do not believe in Him… They despise us as they hated Him… If we let down our guard and we have… If we give them ground out of fear then we are left with what is coming to fruition before our very eyes.
There is no shame in witnessing and glorifying Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ… It’s the commission of followers of Christ… It’s a commission of Faith and Love…
This earth is the battlefield. Heaven is our Home. In the end we win.

I have had religious encounters with people who simply lacked the social skills to effectively represent their faith to others. More than a few of these, while obviously well intentioned. have been a couple of steps away from being downright insulting.
In my opinion, if you start with the belief that “unbelievers” are evil and must be changed through your efforts—and if you don’t have a good idea of how others see you—then you will undoubtedly do more harm than good. Put another way . . . if you do this, your hubris will almost certainly be showing.
The Great Commission calls all believers to witness… So that’s something you may want to pray about… And there are descriptions and direction on what this means and how to do this. I personally didn’t say unbelievers are evil but you may be right in your analysis if that’s what someone believes.

I was led to type my comment because of the lack of response and countermeasures by Christian leaders on recent attacks by nonbelievers on Christians…
There has been no call for witness and conversion… there has been no solutions or plan of action put forth… Silence… whether it be to a Ukrainian girl whose throat was cut on a subway while bystanders looked away, a Christian man who was told by the muslim mayor of Dearborn that he doesn’t belong, to the gang rape of young girls throughout the world or to muslim worshippers praying on the streets of NYC shutting them down, etc.
Jesus is pretty clear about what we are to do… Without fear He The Disciples and later The Church missionaries and others converted the masses of nonbelievers. Not by hiding in the temple but by going amongst them.
You make a great point and maybe I should have used scripture in my original comment to clarify my position.

Dalén’s inventions revolutionized lighthouse equipment with their reliability and efficiency. His “Dalen Flasher” reduced gas consumption by over 90%, and his sun valve-equipped lighthouses could function unattended for extended periods. AGA lighthouses were eventually installed in locations such as the Panama Canal.
Tragically, Dalén lost his sight in an acetylene explosion in 1912 while testing safety devices. Despite his blindness, he continued to lead AGA until his death. In recognition of his achievements, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1912.

Crawdads is what this Hoosier calls em unless I’m down in Louisiana eating them, and then I call them delicious! grab one, pull off the head, squeeze the meat out of the tail and eat it. Suck the spices out of the head. Take a drink of beer, and grab another one.
Mini Lobster, ate plenty of Lobster & they were not big enough to eat coming outta the cricks of TN as those were only about pinky sized.
Kept one or 2 of them live & took home and into an aquarium for about a year, didn’t really grow then died as I recall.
They’re crawfish, of course. The most delicious form is an étouffée followed by a bisque in this Louisiana boy’s humble opinion.

I don’t know about your French, but the best this Hoosier had was at the now closed Hanson’s Disease center in Carville, LA. Old boy there would bring out the cooker, put em in the boiling water with spices, new potatoes and corn on the cob. When a batch was done he dumped it out on the card board trays that soda is shipped in and get to making the next batch.
None I have had in any restaurant, including several down in Louisiana, has beaten what that guy did outside with us eating off picnic tables with a keg of beer.

COMMENTARY FOR JAMES 5
The judgments of God denounced against rich
unbelievers. (1-6) Exhortation to patience and meekness under tribulations. (7-11) Cautions against rash swearing Prayer recommended in afflictive and prosperous circumstances, Christians to confess their faults to each other. (12-18) The happiness of being the means of the conversion of a sinner. (19,20)
12-18 The sin of swearing is condemned; but how many make light of common profane swearing! Such swearing expressly throws contempt upon God’s name and authority. This sin brings neither gain, nor pleasure, nor reputation, but is showing enmity to God without occasion and without advantage It shows a man to be an enemy to God, however he pretends to call himself by his name, or sometimes joins in acts of worship. But the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. In a day of affliction nothing is more seasonable than prayer. The spirit is then most humble, and the heart is broken and tender. It is necessary to exercise faith and hope under afflictions; and prayer is the appointed means for obtaining and increasing these graces. Observe, that the saving of the sick is not ascribed to the anointing with oil, but to prayer. In a time of sickness it is not cold and formal prayer that is effectual, but the prayer of faith. The great thing we should beg of God for ourselves and others in the time of sickness is, the pardon of sin. Let nothing be done to encourage any to delay, under the mistaken fancy that a confession, a prayer, a minister’s absolution and exhortation, or the sacrament, will set all right at last, where the duties of a godly life have been disregarded. To acknowledge our faults to each other, will tend greatly to peace and brotherly love. And when a righteous person, a true believer, justified in Christ, and by his grace walking before God in holy obedience, presents an effectual fervent prayer, wrought in his heart by the power of the Holy Spirit, raising holy affections and believing expectations and so leading earnestly to plead the promises of God at his mercy-seat, it avails much. The power of prayer is proved from the history of Elijah. In prayer we must not look to the merit of man, but to the grace of God. It is not enough to say a prayer, but we must pray in prayer. Thoughts must be fixed, desires must be firm and ardent, and graces exercised. This instance of the power of prayer, encourages every Christian to be earnest in prayer. God never says to any of the seed of Jacob, Seek my face in vain. Where there may not be so much of miracle in God’s answering our prayers, yet there may be as much of grace.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Not sure it had anything to do with seating arrangements for the commoners in the Third Estate, but the Church was the First Estate and the nobles the Second Estate.
The more rebellious of the 3rd Estate tended to sit together and self-applied the term ‘The Left’ based on that seating. I still haven’t figured out if it was from the POV of the dais, or of the crowd.
But, they hated the 1st estate more than they hated the 2nd Estate.
As far as I can find, that appellation has always been more of an us VS them device. Them changes quite significantly. No rhyme or reason, no common attribute to ‘The Right’. And no amount of rectilinear thinking from the right changes that.

I think it quite fascinating how we transitioned from slavery is normal to slavery is evil.
Like all travels, you can’t get from there to here without traveling every point in between.
And it is very difficult to bring all the people with you. Especially since the change would do harm to those enriching themselves from slaves.
I have tried to find the interactions of Western colonizers that spread slavery and the interactions that ended slavery. But modern leftist narratives deny all such interactions. It is all about blame and guilt. Each western country is fully to blame. No western country is to be credited for ending it.
For instance, while the Dutch ran New Amsterdam, they took over part of the slave trade from the Portuguese. That was in the 1630’s and 1640’s around the time that slavery was legalized in many English colonies. Slave trading from what is to become New York, at the time slavery is legalized in nearby colonies, yet they claim no influence whatsoever.
And when you look into Dutch slavery, there is also no concern for other influences, just unique blame to guilt current people who had nothing to do with it.
We deny ourselves fascinating truths in order to play these blame games.
