Can’t but help think that this Venezuelan counter-narcotics strategy is as a result of the growing uncovering and discovery of the DS’s operational architecture. It would also explain the virulent reaction by that organisations political/media complex as it struggles to reorientate itself to the threat. Usually this tactic would work, with wrap-up smears buying it the vital time needed for repositioning, but this time the initial screening effort has failed and the reinforcements have been lacking in quality and hurriedly deployed.
I said, months ago that Team Trump are attacking the DS, in term two, the same way a terrorist network is taken down, by first conducting numerous raids to establish its perimeter and then proceeding to drive towards the centre, with each step exploiting intelligence from previous moves. They’ve learnt to their cost that improving the lives of the citizens is pointless if the organisation that, quite literally, preys upon them is only superficially damaged. In fact the focus of America First is counter-intuitively foreign entanglement first, with domestic policy being a mainly supporting effort.
Although it’s frustrating that certain priorities of the base seem to be a low priority I think the strategy is to only focus on the corrupt individuals when their base of support, and defences, have been removed. To do otherwise is to risk generating the same operating conditions that led to the first term’s objectives being continually frustrated and eventually overturned.
I only wish that somebody could do the same to the DS franchise here in the UK, but every now and then a Trump-initiated tremor is felt in the web of deceit we find ourselves ensnared in, which rekindles hope.
