I reside in AZ. Sen Kelly has been an annoyance to me from the start. He appeals to seniors claiming to save them from the horrors of PDJT. I have had numerous reasons to call his office to object to his pompous and incorrect comments. I am retired from AZ State and am now 81 years of age. So why am I not one of his senior citizen followers? I began my voting experience with Goldwater where I quickly learned of the evils of the Democrat (not Democratic) Party. I have always stood for the Conservative Party and it’s return to smaller gov’t/state rule.
I also come from a strong military background which presently includes my son who did his stint in the Navy and then the Marine Corp. When Kelly made his seditious comment I was on the phone to the senator’s office immediately, but he has not responded. I am beyond angry and embarrassed as one of his ‘constituents’. There are no veterans I know who support what he said. HE SHOULD BE COURT-MARTIALED! Unfortunately, this is 2025 and the possibility of this happening is very slim. I expect he will continue to live without any consequence for his behavior, still holding his pompous head high!

But this idea about its name Democrat vs Democratic seems to be made-up. Yes, they are not democratic (closer to socialists these days), but the name is “Democratic Party” or some variation in all 50 states. For example: California Democratic Party or Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL). The states must use a name on their ballots, and it is usually just “Democratic.”
The DNC (Democratic National Committee) has its name in its Charter and Bylaws.

But then back in those days when we lived in Tucson, we had McCain as one of our senators – he was worse because he “pretended” to be a conservative. After 20 years in Tucson (a beautiful place) my spouse and I bailed out. Sick of the Democratic rule of Tucson, sick of the illegals, sick of the crime. We lived in the Foothills of the Catalina Mountains. When we had a random drive by shooting a half mile from our home (on First Avenue near Skyline/Sunrise Drive, if you know Tucson), we left. Kelly is encouraging MUTINY by members of the military based on their OWN personal opinion as to what constitutes an “illegal order.”

Actually I beg to differ just a bit in regards to the “long game”. You see we tried working the long game. But in the end, time after time, the long game turned out to be nothing more than a game of delay then dismiss. That, for me, explains the lack of faith in the long game as played by the DC Swamp critters.

Secretary Hegseth’s tweet is the first I heard of this. I also saw the President’s posts saying I should be arrested, hanged, and put to death.
If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work. I’ve given too much to this country to be silenced by bullies who care more about their own power than protecting the Constitution.

When you join the Navy and become a fighter pilot, all paid for by the US taxpayer, it’s expected from you that you fly your jet in combat, drop bombs and expect anti aircraft missiles being shot at you. Thats no more than part of the job. If didn’t like that, you should have become a commercial airline pilot.
Bringing home your fellow astronauts from the Columbia is an honor, not more than that, same as flying four space shuttle missions.
All the good things you’ve done in your life, is no reason to give a person a free Get Out of Jail Card. That goes for Mark Kelly as well as for anybody else.

As an adjutant I conducted my share of Summary Court Martials and Supported a few General Court Martials.
Even within UCMJ there are still strict rules of evidence and civil rights included … to include an appeals process …. that potentially winds it’s way into the US Federal District Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
Hopefully Secretary Hegseth has a trustworthy investigative and prosecution team available to assign to handle this case. Just because it’s JAG does not mean the people involved are any less corrupt than many DoJ/FBI as well as Federal Court members.

I think it is hard to say. The man has served the country in many ways. His wife is disabled. He committed an act of treason, but Pollard lived. Such a trial would be ugly spectacle. He deserves to lose his pension and rank for such a betrayal but with a disabled wife and long service to the country, most would have issue with such just results.
