Perhaps the strike-through is in the original article, but remember the “Judeo” does not refer to “Jewish”, but Judaism – as the core “religion” IE the Torah – also known as “The Way” or Path.

If I understand correctly, The Torah is the first five books of the Old testament (Books of Moses).
The Talmud is the law. Devout Jews follow the Law (the Talmud).
Christians are set free from the law by belief in the Word (Jesus Christ) and are saved by God’s grace as we cannot successfully fulfill (obey) the law.
Gentiles (non Jews) are supposed to follow the Noahide laws, seven laws of Noah, according to the Talmud.

The Torah / Pentateuch is The Law (especially Leviticus, but also other portions). Attributed to Moses, and written before the conquest of Canaan under Joshua.
The rest of the Old Testament is the Prophets, plus Psalms, Proverbs, and the books of history (Chronicles, Ruth, Esther).
Around or during the Judean civil war described in first and second Maccabees, (fought over Hellenization) but before Christ, a sect arose that claimed that Moses had also left behind oral traditions that were to be treated as equally valid to the Old Testament / the Hebrew Bible. These were the Pharisees. Jesus and John the Baptist weren’t fans, to say the least.
(Side note on the importance of using correct names :
Shemite (Semite) – descendants of Shem, son of Noah, includes Hebrews, Israelites, Arabs, Moabites, Edomites, Akkadians etc.
Hebrew – descendants of Eber, descended from Shem.
Abraham was a Hebrew, not an Israelite or a Jew (there were no such things when he was alive because they did not exist yet). Descended from Eber, born in the city of Ur in modern day Iraq.

It appears to me that when Christians and Jews talk scripture, most Christians have zero understanding of the role of the Talmud, and/or they assume that most Jews are only reading the Torah and the Prophets and share the same understanding of the Hebrew Bible. This assumption appears to be incorrect.
Some sects of Judaism still believe in the arrival of the Messiah (Mosiach), who will be a Jew who will take power in Jerusalem, conquer all non-Jews, essentially wipe them out or use them as slaves, and rule the world forever through the genealogical line of Judah. It appears that at least the Smotrich and Ben Gvir faction in modern day Israel adhere to this totalitarian and, to be honest, racist, interpretation of the Scriptures.
Christians, on the other hand, believe the through his death and resurrection, Jesus extended God’s blessings to all people and that God no shows no partiality to any genetic line.

You failed to reopen the government, preventing our Administration’s efforts to get aid to American farmers, as well as our planned activation of the Farm Credit Agency to assist our farmers with next year’s crops.

My thoughts are the farthest I could go in that direction is that people who don’t work and have been on the government dole for more than 2 years would be disqualified…with SS and Medicare (which is paid for throughout your working lives) wouldn’t be counted as “being on the dole.” This is about able bodied citizens that sit on their lazy arses and subsist off the taxpayer‘s money.
Of course, as I’ve long said – if you are NOT a citizen, you aren’t allowed to receive one single penny of taxpayer funds or other assistance for ANY reason – and shouldn’t if you are a “naturalized citizen” for your first 7 years of citizenship.
So they produce an anchor baby and get everything for ‘the baby’.
Of course, part of the solution is the elimination of the anchor baby concept Annie. If at least one of your parents isn’t American, you don’t get citizenship for the happenstance of being born while your mother is “visiting” our nation 😉
Note that being born in a foreign nation doesn’t take away your citizenship if your parents are citizens – similarly if you are born here of foreign parents you should remain citizens of your PARENT’s nation.

Whatever happened to having a sponsor guarantee you financially, and to provide housing. Therefore, no reliance on government assistance. Having a sponsor was a requirement to immigrate in the early 1900’s.
What happened? Dopey for 8 years, followed by 4 years of the AutoPen, and a Congress driven by bribes, corruption, and globalism.
So we are nine months into Trump’s second term. The President has been working like a dog since day-one. The dude is nearly 80 years old. The GOP has done exactly nothing of significance legislatively in those nine months, zip, zero, nada. That big bill people crow about was a bunch of crapola for the most part. Not one thing on Trump’s core agenda has been made law, not one thing. I knew it would go this way. Many on this site did too. Trump and many of his advisors had to know as well. How much more of this is he gonna let roll off the calendar while these people intentionally run the clock out on his second term.
Their goal is to preserve the swamp and all the corruption that goes with it including all the prosecutorial corruption, corrupt courts, and the trillions in graft. I suspect people are advising Trump to play nice or he won’t get anything from the GOP. Truth is, he won’t get anything from them either way. I expect him to stop playing nice at some point soon and start destroying some of these GOP “leaders”. They are paid to obstruct and grandstand. It’s so disgusting to watch in real time.

If you want PDJT to “stop playing nice” then at the bare minimum we have to hold the majorities in the House and Senate, so yes.
I don’t totally disagree with you (although the OBBA did have actual real achievements in places) but if the Dems take either half of Congress it will be TOTALLY derailed, and we will only hear about impeachments every single day until 2028.
So, you have to fight in the better arena… and the extremely better arena (though still crappy) is having Republican control of Congress.

Today, President Trump is calling for Republicans in the Senate to invoke the nuclear option and get rid of the filibuster. This will allow us to roll over and crush the Dems and reopen the government. This will allow us to confirm top quality people to appointed positions.
If the Democrats won a majority, they would do it anyway, and they are less likely to win, if we do it first. I have been arguing in favor of this approach since the beginning of the shutdown.

We’ve been hearing this for a while from the same people as a coping mechanism – “well, the Democrats would do it…” But they never have.
My takeaway from this if it actually happens –
1. It will be impossible for even the diehardss to spin any stories or deflect moving forward. This is the hill Republicans are potentially choosing to die on.
2. Future Democrat senior leaders like AOC are probably celebrating this.
I agree 100%. The filibuster is on life-support thanks to RINOs. The Left knows the tide has turned and if they get their hands on the levers of government (the Senate in this case), the filibuster will die and the Left will ride roughshod over the Republic. Throw in those “blue card” vetoes, too, on that senators are allowed to throw to prevent the President from getting his judges and assistant DAs.
Henceforth, the shutdown will be Schumer’s Folly. His legacy will be as the Senator who lost the filibuster.
NOT just the Filibuster but the 60-vote rule also needs to be suspended. that rule is the real smoke screen and EXCUSE used by Republicans, for in action.

Cloture was a response to unlimited debate. That is where the 60 comes from. It could go to a simple majority. One boon, high schools would start teaching civics again as a response, in all likelihood.
There hasn’t really been a filibuster since the 1970s. Oh, the rule is still there and every now and then some Senator will spend an evening talking as a publicity stunt, but the filibuster that everyone thinks of (as in “Mr. Smith Goes to Washington”) was killed by the Democrats when they converted cloture into a super-majority rule for virtually everything back in the 70s. Cloture itself had only existed since 1917 when Woodrow Wilson (who hated being told No by anyone) had a fit when Republican Senators successfully filibustered a bill he supported to arm American merchant ships in the North Atlantic, the point of which was to create an incident that could result in the U.S. being dragged into WW1 against Germany (which happened a few months later without having to arm our merchant ships).
The filibuster used to be a very powerful threat and was used very sparingly. It was a threat because before WW2, congressional sessions were only six months or less every year. No wanted to stay in DC during the hot months before effective air conditioning, plus Senate filibuster rules required all other business to cease and all Senators to assemble in the Senate chamber for the duration of the filibuster. That delay of business could threaten to extend the session into the hot time of year, and DC is not called the Swamp for nothing (those short annual sessions were also why recess appointments were so important). Cloture was designed to force a filibuster to end instead of drag on delaying other business. But WW2 came and air conditioning was installed in the Capitol and nearly all government office buildings and then Congressional sessions basically lasted all year and have been that way ever since.
After they had been embarrassed by their Southern members filibustering the Civil Rights Act and some other filibusters, the Democrat leadership in the Senate began revising the rules, which by the late 70s had resulted in cloture being converted into a two-step system for almost all bills being advanced in the Senate. You first had to have 60 votes to advance the bill, and then generally only had to have a simple majority to give final passage to it. An attempted filibuster also no longer shut down all other business, and in any event the full-year sessions meant no filibuster could have much of an adverse impact on the Senate calendar.
The revised “cloture” rule basically meant a super-majority was required for almost everything. It also turned the Senate into the senior Congressional chamber for real, because to get final passage of most House bills, the House members and/or the White House would basically have to woo enough Senators with all kinds of sweeteners to get enough of them to vote for cloture to pass the bill in the Senate. That is the source of the power that people like Harry Reid and Mitch McConnell wielded in their positions. McConnell was never interested in being Majority Leader, because even as Minority Leader he controlled enough Republican Senators to always either pass or defeat cloture on any bill, and the behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing over the votes he controlled always gave him what he wanted.
The “nuclear option” should be used. Most Senate business before the 1970s only needed a simple majority for passage, unless a rare true filibuster was attempted and then it might succeed in at least pulling a bill unless the old cloture rule was invoked and succeeded. I am not sure there is anything that can be done to bring back the old filibuster rules and make them effective. But the super-majority “cloture” rule needs to die. If it did not exist, this shutdown would not have started.
