The best way through this is to define viewpoints, not people, because people will shift as they change position and velocity in Trump gravity.

A few will get slung off into space, but most will come along for the ride of their lives.

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This term, he is weeding them out faster. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the healthy distrust of government and men with too much power held by our founders. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum on day 285 of the 2nd term of this very stable genius in the history of the kingdoms of this world in the year of our Lord 2025.

We have made the trip from British Columbia to Palm Springs many times while being a pleasant vacation.
As President Trump supporters we enjoy observing the day to day goings on.
Spanish speaking individuals are doing the vast majority of any work done, and are extremely efficient.
Whether it be landscapers, concrete and tile guys, hotel and restaurant staff.
As we stroll around we took note that several of the landscapers vehicles, and construction crews
had quality equipment and vehicles, and had all the appearances of legitimacy.
Off course there were exceptions, but we did not see many.
We have become acquainted with a lovely young lady at the hotel, she works two jobs ( night shift at the hotel)
All the while raising four kids and is studying for what may very well be an excellent career going forward.
While it is easy for me to get pissed off at the indulged wealthy and entitled individuals around here.
A young ladies story like this “ lift up the heart”

Just like Ukraine, it’s a missed opportunity. Most people probably haven’t even noticed “the shutdown”, and most of the government isn’t shut down. It’s like Ukraine in the sense that the base doesn’t care about Washington DC’s feelings or the impact on far away strangers in a distant land, and the straightforward answer keeps getting overlooked.
What is the technical purpose of a CR? To bridge government funding until all the individual department budgets get passed. They claim they need 7 weeks of CR to do that.
Well, we’re 4 weeks in. So that means the rest of the budget for FY26 will be done by Thanksgiving. No sense in passing a CR for 3 weeks at this point. Just pass the remaining budgets and move on.
Of course, nobody really believes that. Not following over a decade of omnibus bills, CRs, etc with no budgets passed by Congress.
The question isn’t how to end the shutdown. The question is why aren’t the other budgets being passed by the republicans.
Ending the filibuster (nuclear option) does NOT need to be an all-or-nothing move.
The Senate already chipped away at the filibuster in limited, self-contained situations:
Thune does not need to totally eliminate all filibusters. He only needs to carve out a specific situation to end it for government shutdowns.
Here is my proposal:
Make a Senate rule that whenever there is a lapse in appropriations (aka “shutdown”) of longer than 10 days, rule that an emergency situation that bypasses normal Senate rules and instead of 60 votes to end debate (cloture) it only requires 50 votes until appropriations restart.
This is a specific and limited set of conditions. The filibuster will continue to exist otherwise. It does not overturn traditional Senate order, unless there is a shutdown.
My proposal will make it very risky for a minority party to hold the nation hostage by imposing a shutdown:

Just a short while ago, the Democrats, while in power, fought for three years to do this, but were unable to pull it off because of Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona.
Never have the Democrats fought so hard to do something because they knew the tremendous strength that terminating the Filibuster would give them.
They want to substantially expand (PACK!) the United States Supreme Court, make Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico States (Thereby automatically picking up 4 Senate seats, many House seats, and at least 8 Electoral Votes!), and many other highly destructive things.
Well, now WE are in power, and if we did what we should be doing, it would IMMEDIATELY end this ridiculous, Country destroying “SHUT DOWN.”
If the Democrats ever came back into power, which would be made easier for them if the Republicans are not using the Great Strength and Policies made available to us by ending the Filibuster, the Democrats will exercise their rights, and it will be done in the first day they take office, regardless of whether or not we do it.

One really has to wonder about the State DA’ understanding of the Constitution and how our goernment works (legislative and executive power and responsibilities). This will also put any judge that hears the case in a tough spot, especially if he is a liberal judge. Does he legally deny SNAP benefits to the Democrat’s base or does he assume dictator powers and overrule Congress restoring benefits during the shutdown showing District judges have more power than the US Congress? Maybe for once a conservative judge will get the case ‘randomly’ so a liberal judge doesn’t have to rule SNAP can only be restored by Congress?

Will the court/judge overrule Congress on the budget and spending?

Trump didn’t shut the government down, or suspend SNAP. Congress did that, specifically the Democrats in Congress. Trump cannot restore benefits by executive order, only Congress can restore those SNAP benefits. Trump would be happy to pay the military, essential personnel like Federal officers and traffic constrollersl and fund SNAP if he judges would let him, but so far liberal judges have stopped him.

To me, it just shows once again that our system of government is not working because our representatives do not see their purpose is to actually represent the will of the people that elect them. They are in Congress solely to drive political ideology, retain power and enrich themselves.

This is exactly why our country is in the mess it is in. Congress doesn’t do the job of actually solving problems. NEW: LA firefighters were told to abandon a smoldering blaze that later reignited as the deadly Palisades fire, according to text messages.
The LA Times reports that firefighters alerted a battalion chief that the Lachman fire was still smoldering. Despite their concerns, the firefighters were ordered to pack up and leave the area.
According to federal authorities, the fire reignited, which in turn destroyed thousands of homes and took the lives of 12 people. People need to be thrown in prison for this.

There was no justification for what Chauvin did, whether it was described in some police manual or not. It was also equally wrong that his fellow officers stood there and watched and did nothing. Last week, given the torpid pace of the deportations, the Trump administration opted to purge top ICE officials and replace them with those from the Border Patrol. It’s been a move that has not been received warmly in some corners, to put it nicely. Some sources added that ICE was dogging it regarding deportation operations. So, Border Patrol is reportedly looking forward to showing the rest of DHS how it’s done when it comes to getting rid of people who shouldn’t be here. ICE is composed of removal and investigations. This is not mentioned in the article and Agents from the investigative division compose a significant portion of ICE Senior Executive positions. The Ancestry of ICE investigations can be traced to Legacy Customs Treasury prior to the creation of DHS. Their center of gravity was goods, contraband. BP investigative positions (immigration/people) were rolled into the lump with the much larger Customs investigators. There was an agency reluctance or outright unwillingness to do alien smuggling/immigration criminal cases from the beginning of DHS. People cases are not sexy, they are hard your evidence and your witness’ are the people involved in the crime. Detaining your evidence and witness creates a mountain of people and processing problems. This was compounded by US Attorneys not wanting these cases either, setting the policy guidelines so high as to discourage prosecution.
BP also lost their air wing and interior stations in the same “reorganization”, though this started due to the 1986 immigration reform act. The 86 act forbid, specifically farm and ranch check without warrant, which was formerly conducted under the “open fields” doctrine established as a 4th amendment exception by the supreme court.
Point being BP, prior to DHS operated internally as a matter of routine, jail check, transportation check, farm and ranch, ect.. Prior to this the most productive Border Patrol Sector, measured by manhours per alien arrest was Livermore in California (roughly Oxnard to Roseburg OR). Livermore sector was shut down finally around 2003 (DHS creation date). This is nothing new, Immigration enforcement has always been a mess, primarily due to a lack of political will. After this the policy basically demanded agents terminate pursuit if a smuggler fled. Of course the cartels understood this and used it to their best advantage. Tactics common today were unapproved during this time frame. It took another decade or more for the policy beast to catch up.
9th circuit restrictions on roving patrol vehicle stops severely disabled agents ability to use common sense observations and experience to conduct operations. This forced an operational decision to rely heavily on checkpoints, having a stronger legal footing.
The Temecula I-15 and San Clemente I-5 checkpoints were ordered to remain open 24/7 by congress (thank you Daryl Issa) or be shut down. BP complied in order to avoid a conflict with Congress. This drained resources preventing BP ability to focus on more productive and less intrusive operational endeavors.
Checkpoints are the least efficient way to conduct operations being manpower intensive and damaging the good will of the surrounding communities, by bothering everyone all the time with little to no benefit considering the return on investment. And now here we are today trying to clean up a mess purposefully neglected for a long time.

Something we need to remember about the EBT/SNAP programs. The recipient is only part of the issue. I think I read that the benefits went from $5B to $11B from 2019 to 2024. Besides many of the wrong people getting those benefits, who is the final downstream recipient of those funds?…….big grocery corporations, walmart, regular grocery stores, and convenience stores, etc. And I’m sure some of those funds to stores, end up going to politicians. It’s like a nearly guranteed income stream to the stores and politicians. Just another big grift and laundering service.

Zohran Mamdani Allies Fund Extremist Group Now Entering NYC Public Schools
Two men who have openly called for violence against Jews are now being welcomed into New York City public schools to teach students “how to organize.”
Abdullah Akl, who shouted “strike Tel Aviv” at a pro-Hamas rally, and Mohammad Badawy, who prayed for the “destruction of the Zionist occupiers and all their supporters,” are leading a new initiative called MAS in Schools.
The program, run by the Muslim American Society’s Youth Center in Brooklyn, plans to open prayer spaces and host Islamic events in fifty high schools.
It’s partnering “for the first time ever” with Students for Justice in Palestine, the same group that recently called for “death to all collaborators” of Israel. (Mamdani attended Bowdoin College where he co-founded the school’s chapter of Students for Justice in Palestine.)
City records show that Zohran Mamdani’s allies on the New York City Council have funneled more than two hundred thousand dollars in public funds to the group behind this effort. Mamdani himself has appeared at MAS events and is friendly with Akl.

It’s now day 30 of the Schumer Shutdown. Since GOP leaders Johnson and Thune have said multiple times that all federal workers will get back, those lucky enough to be classified “non-essential” have enjoyed the entire month of October as one big paid vacation. As expected, tough talking Russ Vought has fired only a few of them and even those terminations are being held up in the courts. I wonder if “essential” federal employees who have had to come to work all month without pay will be able to sue the government for 30 days of extra vacation time? If all air traffic controllers agreed to not show up for work on Monday this shutdown would end in 30 seconds.
While I agree with the gist of your post, average ATC annual salary is $136K….median wage averages to $69/hr. These people can’t put away cash for a rainy day? I was a GS for five years and endured some of these shutdowns. Corporate planning and my own savings got the family through. One paycheck and these folks can’t put a burger on the table? Managing debt is a personal problem – not a taxpayer problem.
If they are not astute enough to save for a rainy day, then they probably should not be in control of other peoples lives.
Control in gov’t (individual) is by and large limited (in a policy or funding sense). The front office generally runs the show – and even that chain draws its support (i.e., future job prospects) from the organization leads and HQ. This can reach even higher into the “customer” realm – when the customers happen to be gov’t. The Federal big whigs crack the whip. Anyone who doubts that should experience how DoW AT&L operates – or what happens when an administration flips to the other party after an election. Congress also has a huge impact – the phonecalls for big contracts from the Congressional power players (and corporate CEOs who stand to benefit) is nothing to be trifled with!
