The 173rd Airborne did deploy to the middle east from Italy, but could have done the same from CONUS. So really you have beside that an Armored Cav Regiment, Combat Aviation Brigade, and some F-16 squadrons in EU plus F-35 in the UK.

The link you posted allowed me to read the NATO Treaty for myself. The most interesting to me was Article 10, that reads:
Article 10The Parties may, by unanimous agreement, invite any other European State in a position to further the principles of this Treaty and to contribute to the security of the North Atlantic area to accede to this Treaty. Any State so invited may become a Party to the Treaty by depositing its instrument of accession with the Government of the United States of America. The Government of the United States of America will inform each of the Parties of the deposit of each such instrument of accession.
So, the “Government of the United States of America” has control of the “instrument of accession”. I’m pretty sure our President is making good use of this lever in his negotiations to stop the killing between Ukraine and Russia.
Not only that. Each country can decide to participate even if Russia attacks first. Article 5 has been misinterpreted, on purpose, by the war mongers.
