It has not worked out so well, and that is simply true. Iran was the fastest growing economy in the entire ME, before Carter. Trump is a bit mysterious and not always easy to read. However there is evidence of a large and wealthy faction of Arab leaders that are fairly young to middle age, that have seen the non stop destruction of Islamist Jihad, and MAY very much want to get that changed. Little else explains Trumps very large moves and ME visits with global leaders of finance, as well as the many nations supporting Trumps peace plan. It is worth the attempt, and Trunp, in front of ME Arab leaders, has directly and boldly condemned Islamist Jihad. Sometimes Trump sees a way that others don’t. We will see. Your concerns are valid.
SO many Middle East leaders have been brought into this agreement, made stake-holders in it, that if anyone tries to blow it up at some point (like hamas doing something stupid), I fully expect one or more of them would hold a hand up to President Trump and say “No no, we’ve got this.”
I expect one is getting the construction jobs, another the financing, another the materials supply contracts, another the demolition, another the long term contracts for apartment and office management, another the hotels …
