Dept of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, states that armed protesters confronted Customs and Border Patrol officials near the Broadview ICE facility today.
CHICAGO – This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.
Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
The armed woman was named in a CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online ‘Hey to all my gang let’s fuck those mother fuckers up, don’t let them take anyone.’
Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.
Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.

As a military police officer at Ft Hood, I had additional responsibility for a riot control squad just before Kent State occurred. Having had some experience with National Guard back in those days, I was appalled that they would have used National Guard troops. Their lack of training back then was incredible. And the fact that they had even been issued live ammunition at that point was a complete break down by their officers.
Having said that, I think (I hope) that National Guard training has improved. And once I had sons, I worked very hard, using Kent State as one of the examples, to teach them about intentionally putting yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The “battle drill” for a near-ambush, where you find yourself blocked in and under fire is to immediately apply as much firepower as possible to get yourself and your troops out of the kill-zone. Use grenades if you have them. Apply maximum firepower and assault directly into the enemy position. No matter what, do not stop until you push through the enemy. Don’t bother taking cover, don’t stop and think, just fire and rush against the enemy. Anything that stays inside the kill-zone is going to die.

Some of the ICE personnel are likely former military, and of that cohort, some are likely former soldiers and marines. But ICE is not the infantry. They are not trained to locate, close with, and destroy the enemy by fire and close combat in ambush situations.
If anything, if ICE becomes overwhelmed we are likely looking at a “death bloom” response — perhaps a massacre.
It will look like eagerness to deal out death. This we do not need.
Instead need ICE to continue operating AND to adjust approach, to plan better, to become more unpredictable, to strengthen security, particularly when on the move. Things like that.
In the meantime, we need sufficient National Guard forces to protect the federal facilities central to ICE arrest operations so ICE can free up personnel to apprehend and deport illegal and criminal aliens.

Talk radio commenters such as Rush, Rodger Hedgecock, or Michael Savage have pointed out how our Congressmen eat them by the bowlful, washing them down at a 6 martini lunch while writing another “anti-drug” bill. Every week there was another story in the New York papers about some guy who’d gone “off his meds” and ended up slaughtering his family.

as she was isolated at college in her apartment) -at any rate, she went to the doctor who prescribed meds
and she was on them 3-6 months prior to the doctor changing meds after her complaining of how they made her feel both mentally and physically – and the cycle started all over again. I couldn’t tell you how many times her meds
were changed but it went on for 2-3 years. Thank the Lord she made it out of that mess ok.

Before we all trash the Chicago PD, I suggest a look at the Second City Cop blog. The street guys are all pretty much furious with Chief of Patrol Hein who issued the “Stand Down” order. The guys in the trenches don’t like this any more than we do.
Second, I’m watching the Chicago news pretty closely. Governor Pritzker has pushed Mayor Johnson off the stage. Pritzker’s making all the loud noises right now. He wants the spotlight. My question is: “Just how hard is he going to push?” Does he truly want another George Floyd type martyr to set the City aflame? Or does he back off? Or will things simply spiral out of control without Pritzker doing much more than he already has?
The local press/media isn’t anyone’s friend here. All the news stories are slanted “he said-she said” re-tellings of the day’s drama. They’re all strongly anti-ICE, anti-Trump. There’s no reporting.
If you’re interested, read a few Chicago media sites and get a feel for the distortion. Public sentiment here is probably hugely pro-Pritzker. I know my neighbors are. (I live in a northern suburb)
If something blows up, it won’t be Trump’s doing. He’s too good at high stakes poker. It will either be Pritzker’s big mouth or the media whipping up the crowd that drives that bus. Nobody else has emerged as a “local spokesman.”
