Dept of Homeland Security Deputy Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, states that armed protesters confronted Customs and Border Patrol officials near the Broadview ICE facility today.
CHICAGO – This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.
Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
The armed woman was named in a CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online ‘Hey to all my gang let’s fuck those mother fuckers up, don’t let them take anyone.’
Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.
Pritzker’s Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.

DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was at the facility yesterday coordinating plans for a large-scale operation that will now likely include the national guard. Secretary Noem has requested national guard support as the local police are refusing to enforce civil order.
The Midway Blitz Operation has resulted in more than 1,000 arrests, the Department of Homeland Security said in a news release Friday.

I do not know Broadview but I know other nearby villages. They have small departments, limited budget due to limited tax base, and cannot offer competitive wages. They are always limited.
I do not know where in Broadview the ICE facility is located but I suspect it is on land owned by the sprawling VA complex. There is a big National Guard place there too.
They can call for mutual aid from surrounding depts.

I believe Broadview borders on City of Chicago. The big VA complex is on 1st Avenue – which should be the Eastern border of Broadview. There is a big park running along most of 1st Ave but if I am correct, then Chicago would be literally across the street.
