Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent appears on CNBC to discuss the second full day of the government shutdown and the potential ramifications therein.
Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought is meeting with President Trump today to discuss the facets of the government that will be closed and for the duration therein. Secretary Bessent is asked if the furloughs will be a long-term feature of the backfire created by the Democrat strategy.
Bessent reemphasizes he personally joined the Trump administration to shrink the scale of government spending, and the administration is not going to flinch on any CR agreement that backtracks on existing spending reductions. WATCH:

Imposing fiscal responsibility is the Left’s worst nightmare.
You are expecting ‘honesty’ our of the Leftists?
I equate “fiscal responsibility” with honesty…fully acknowledging that those two concepts seem to not co-exist in today’s politics.
<You are expecting ‘honesty’ our of the Leftists?>
Honesty is such a lonely word…
Everyone is so untrue.
-Billy Joel
It seems to me during one of Sundance’s trips to Capitol Hill he was told – If you are looking for a person of “honor” you will not find one of those on Capitol Hill
I don’t recall the exact quote, but this is good enough.
You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy
Uh…have you been to Illinois, most especially, Chicago?
Asking for a friend….
I have been to every major city in the US. I have witnessed crimes firsthand.
Nevertheless I stand by my statement.
Yes, Chicago has really gone downhill since the Al Capone gang was running the city…
Well, there is always “a bottle of red…a bottle of white…”
Whoa…”they built you temple and locked you away,
But they never told you the price you’d pay
For things that you might have done…”
Imposing fiscal responsibility is the
Left’sUniparty’s worst nightmare.Fixed it for you.
Now to find out where all the funds have been squirrelled away to for so many years.
Except for cold cash in bags, the NSA has all electronic transfer data. Shouldn’t be that difficult. DOGE should audit the NSA databases.
Good point. As long as somebody’s looking at funds transfers take a look at the stock trades of Congressional members and their correlation to NSA breaches of company CEOs and board members. Pretty sure insider trading is rampant.
I’d be surprised if it wasn’t.
Where have all the funds been squirreled away? I can help you with that. Pull quote from the link cited below:
“All these “impositions” and False Legal Presumptions were applied against individual Americans and against their labor and physical assets under color of law and conditions of non-disclosure. In truth, they are owed their estates back unharmed, together with the profit realized by the use of their assets and labor since 1868.”
You have no idea how much money that is.

Personal responsibility is totally out.
BIS. Bank of International Settlements.
“Imposing fiscal responsibility is a politician’s worst nightmare.”
Fixed it for you.
It took two (sides of the same coin) to tango our way into this mess, and it’s going to take some real political fortitude for anyone in Congress to summon the courage to do the hard work that is coming. We’re only here because Johnson and Thune failed to guide Congress through the proper budgeting process. CR’s are a coward’s way out and should never have been allowed in the first place.
The Pentagon’s too as they haven’t been able to even complete an audit, let alone pass one, in many years.
Can you imagine a public company saying “we can’t report earnings because we don’t know where the money went”??
They’d be in BIG TROUBLE! But the investors chose to invest – we didn’t choose to throw $ at the Pentagon so they could disappear it.
The fed reserve hasn’t been audited ever! Time to audit both the Pentagon and Fed reserve and include Ft Knox while you are at it.
They never will because the world economy would implode overnight!
Well one of them, anyway. Lol
And their GOPe enablers.
I just hope they dont get violent. Probably a foregone hope.
Could be a better scenario than the the beers in the capital exposing themselves like animals!! JMHO
Maybe! Currency isn’t owned by the United States tho and it doesn’t coin its own currency. The occultists like word magic. Current/currency.
also many on the right
The problem is we have a growing wing of the Democrats who are communist (AOC), and actively WANT to crash the economy and collapse the society.
This is as good a spot as any to link this article…
I call attention to the back on Pelosi’s right hand….
That is one huge dressing on the back of her hand…in the video, its visible about 2:18 seconds in….
I guess her platinum health care is not so good? LOL.
https://www.foxnews.com/media/nancy-pelosi-snaps-reporter-after-being-asked-whether-gop-should-negotiate-shutdown-aoc
And she had to ‘play nice’ about AOC…
Her adenochrome injection site?
Melanoma removal would be my guess.
Or “little old lady” thin skin and skin tears….
Or a recently infiltrate IV, perhaps?
Eggzactly!! My 1st thought too
don’t look at the patch. look at bher eyes. i have said for quite some time, i believe Pelosi is demon possessed. I am reminded of her stating, during Trump’s first term, when he was having ICE hunt down MS 13 gang members to deport. She got on camera and said, and I’m paraphrasing, that these a fellow children of God, and have the spark of divinity, there are not animals. So rich. The only time to reference the Bible is to protect brutal criminals. If we actually treated them like the animals they are, we would put them down immediately. i believe that some, not all, of that lot are possessed. i would put Brennan, Adam Schiff and Hillary as candidates.
Absolutely. The eyes are a ‘dead’ giveaway. I’ve seen it with Whoopie.
Yep, Pelosi just has to be a direct descendent of Satan himself…she is one vile, evil piece of human garbage.
Wielding the ball peen hammer on Paul and his friends is getting tougher to do
Paulie “Dahmer” Pelosi strikes again – he’s the one who has the hammer fetish, he was so drunk (and the room was so dark this time) that he mistook Nuntzy for B. Hussein Obama’s husband “Michelle”…
What a sad wreck of a woman – if she was not pure evil, I could almost feel sorry for her as all the years of scheming, maneuvering, lying, and stealing have brought her to this point! She is clearly not well – the botox can’t cut it any more, the eyebrows are now just comical, and she has been sent back down to the minors while newer, younger, better players take her place in the limelight!
Hekeem?? Brighter??!!
I was referring to AOC, who I do not like or trust, but can admit has done a great job rebranding the party to follow her lead…we ignore people like her at our peril, IMHO!
Her handlers. She is as empty as vessel as Kamellalalalalala
AOC is more like the person this bible verse explains. describing Satan appearing as an angel of light is 2 Corinthians 11:14, which states, “No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light”. This verse emphasizes Satan’s deceptive nature, as he hides his true, wicked intentions behind an appearance of goodness or righteousness to fool people into accepting what is false.
She’ll make a great President in a few years.
The geezers that are holding this country back need to clear out first. 😀
In a long line of silly comments…
I agree.
As Rush might say…”Chuck U Schumer is her next victim.”
Funny but not funny.
🕶️✝️🕶️
In a way, I pity her.
Politicians push for ‘change’…always…as you note, its coming back to her…’circling back’…..
Ditto….Hiliary ! Between the two…IMO I think Hiliary wins out on the most evil. Interestingly…they both appear to have the same drinking issues…coincidence?
Injecting vodka directly into her veins with an IV drip?
Combine that with saline and she can be well hydrated and blind drunk, all at the same time.
Oh, my, yes – that’s a very large bandage on her right hand, as she flaps it around – is it covering a very large bruise? Also strange is her frequent lip licking. Between the lip licking and the intense flapping/hand waving she seems to have a weird neurological condition.
Watch Newscums hand movements. I’d say it’s in the family, but isn’t he related by marriage?
Or the Lord is working in mysterious ways by having the wicked give themselves away to those that
are paying attention. A few years back Bill Clinton had a wicked give: the more he fervently lied, the
hoarser he became.
A Bolivian Bam-Bam & Molly cocktail explain the Lizard Newscum’s gyrations.
Looks like a pig with lipstick.
Wash DC FBI Feild Office and all staff look pretty unnecessary to me. Also most of DOS and DOJ, and maybe 17 superfluous IC agencies can be fired and the portfolio given to Navy Intel.
The domestic Intel part (inside CONUS) looking out across the border sounds like a breif for Army Intel.
Tracking foriegn threats inside US belong to US Marshals.
“Wash DC FBI Field Office” is there for deep state spying purposes, destroying evidence of Democrats criminality and for entrapping Republicans like on J6!!!! JMO
Department of Education
Department of Commerce
Department of Housing and Urban Affairs
Start here. the few essential functions they might perform could be transferred to another department, just like the few functions of USAID that might actually aid the poor in foreign countries were transferred to State.
Navy Intelligence was one of the 17 agencies that said Donald Trump stole the 2016 election!
What is the “new opportunity” that this shutdown presents Trump, to permanently reduce headcount?
What is the mechanism?
Nobody is talking about this.
Makes me wonder if everybody is just smoking “hopium”?
Stay tuned. You’ll find out soon enough.
Indeed. Watch and learn.
Congress and senate in recess as well? How about PDJT making all his recess appointments? “Three birds with one stone”?
Unfortunately, after the activities in 2020, there is very little patience for a “wait and see” , “white knights are coming” attitude that was prevalent from That Letter Of The Alphabet crowd. The term “tick tock” is not affectionately used here, as it doesn’t mean “stay tuned” it means “please do nothing while they run out the clock”.
Hannity resembles your remark.
Trump’s words should be backed up by ACTIONS! Get it done. Would be interesting to see how fast Demorats would scream/reveal their “pet / favorite” priorities.
So far, people seem to be “hoping” there is some magical way for Trump to shrink gov headcounts due to the shutdown.
What laws changed?
I can’t see the Uniparty giving Trump any wiggle room to do so.
I just don’t believe in “hopium” magic.
For the kitchen table economist on a fixed income from SSA…I did a quick brave search and this is what I found, I don’t have the attention span for the above video:
Social Security survivor benefits will continue to be paid on time and without interruption during the government shutdown. This is because Social Security programs, including survivor benefits, are funded through mandatory spending authorized by the Social Security Act, meaning they do not depend on annual congressional appropriations that are affected by the shutdown.
Non-essential services such as benefit verifications, corrections to earnings records, processing overpayments, and replacing Medicare cards could be temporarily halted. Approximately 90% of SSA employees, or about 45,000 workers, are expected to remain on duty to ensure benefit payments continue, while roughly 6,200 employees may be furloughed.
One downside: f the shutdown persists, it could delay the annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) announcement, which is typically based on Consumer Price Index data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in mid-October.
my prescription coverage (Cigna) just sent notice of 900% premium increase. I`m sure the cola will reflect that. sarc
Somewhere on Al Gore’s internet, I read all the insurance companies were doing big changes and reductions in markets…meaning counties….and also changes to their Medicare Advantage Programs….
We normal people, once again, used for illicit agendas.
If illegals get stuff for free…we should too. End of story.
Because I still work in health care, you cannot imagine what I see and cannot talk about!
Been there, done that – yes. I can. I 😌
A friend said she heard or read the COLA was going to be either $54 or $56. News to me.
That is the average increase for the average SSI check.
To find out your increase multiply your monthly check by 0.027.
to find out what your monthly check will be multiply the gross before any taxes are deducted by 1.027.
2.7%
I imagine they want us ‘grateful’….yet we pay for people to not work, for illegals, for a gazillion other things as if we too don’t have ‘qualifying needs’….
COLA is 2.7%
Medicare increase is $21.50 per month
We’ve got years and years of catching up to do.
So no.
No mercy…
Which as we all know, if given to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.
(hat tip: Adam Smith)
No ma’am. No mercy. They can ask God above for that. HE is the only one who can help them at this point.
Thank goodness you showed up today!! I was becoming down in the dumps with most of the previous comments – ha ha.
Shutdown? What shutdown? I haven’t noticed anything different. Life goes on.
The country almost runs itself.
I made a visit to MySocialScurity.com about a week ago to check some figures and found to my delight that DOGE made it so that just about everything I wanted to do or change was now a click of a button, without going to the SSI office or dealing with the clerks.
One of the things Musk noted in all of the Government offices was the decrepit age of the computer systems they were using in areas like SSI, IRS, and others that mainly handle OUR money and the disbursement of OUR payments.
He said at the tiime in one interview that his young experts didn’t have to wait on FAR approvals or bids, went direct to the vendors for what they wanted and installed the new equipment with new software and programmed in the functions they wanted to duplicate the functions that were there, and mainly swept aside all of the broken down crap. Then they notified all of the clerks working for these departments that , hey, guess what, Covid was over three years ago, come back to work or get fired.
The remote hookup alone was most of the delay in processing any requests by customers to the system.
When I went on I had to go through a new ID security program to Identify myself with uploaded pictures and documents like a State DL/ID so stop any possibility of a scammer coming in and attempting to redirect my SSI payment to another account.;
Once that was done and saved, what I wanted to do took only a few minutes and clicks.
If you haven’t tried it lately you should, its amazing and refreshing to see a government department actually work for a change.
Remember what Obama did during a shutdown.
Now think of added lawfare making demands about Trump keeping things operational being illegal or even impeachable.
The interesting part occurs AFTER the “shut down”.
The lawfare suits begin to REOPEN the entities eliminated … especially those entities MANDATED by Congress inside the Funding Authorization ACTS signed into law by the President.
Nearly all the lawfare suits vs the President’s Executive Orders deal with agencies and budgets of Congressionally MANDATED Entities (i.e. USAID as the most notorious).
The reason CONGRESS MANDATES the creation of Executive Branch entities is to PROTECT the funding (piggy banks) and the local chapters (hiring friends and relatives) of those entities as well set up an allegedly Article I Protected Executive road blocks to Executive Oversight required and authorized under Article II. Those mandated entities violate separation of powers as well as Checks and Balances.
The Supreme Court will have to decide one of the most difficult Constitutional Questions it has faced in quite some time … Separation of Article I and Article II defined Powers and Authority with respect to Fiscal Authority. There is power and BIG money at stake with this one.
All the end-runs around the Constitution are going to bite them.
We have a unitary Executive, there cannot be an Executive agency that is above Executive Oversight as that authority is derived and delegated from his office.
In practice however, we have a state sanctioned mafia. Going to be quite the ordeal to bring them all to account. We are living in interesting times.
No argument from me … yet those Congressionally Mandated entities within the Executive, which are supposedly OUTSIDE Executive Oversight per lawfare supporting Local Federal Courts, Exist.
The Constitutional Questions EXIST and the US is saddled with a compromised Supreme Court, which will have to decide an issue important to the Puppet Masters dealing with the wielding of POWER and control of MONEY.
It’s a 50-50 toss up which way the Roberts Court will decide … and who actually gets bitten … the US Tax Payer or those supporting the MANDATES.
Cleaning up the entrenched criminality will not be for the faint of heart. It will take some unorthodox methods. Namely not fighting those battles on the battlefields and terms chosen by our enemies.
We can start by taking a chainsaw to the Federal Reserve.
Meanwhile, at some point, the DOJ attorney will have to walk into the court on onc or these suits and hand a letter signed by an attorney general, and maybe by the President himself, that says, the Whitehouse council and the DOJ have looked at the action the Plaintiff is requesting you to stay, and we are looking at the wording of your stay, and we have come to the conclusion that this area is one of exclusive Article II power and authority, and not any area where you have any authority to rule Thank you.
And then walk out of the court.
Then lets see what happens.
The Democrats already showed their hand. They shut down the government and are willing to do harm to the American people to keep spending on social services for their most important constituency, illegal immigrants.
Trust but verify on RIFs. Personally, I believe the administration is gaslighting us.
There will be consequences to no RIFs.
President Trump does not waste his considerable energy gaslighting anyone.
Nor does he send his people to waste theirs either. There will be RIFs just as Sec. Bessant says.
They will have an orderly and logical process, unlike the “how stoned am I today determines what I decide” method of decisions of the previous administration.
Dang! Fiscal responsibility apparently causes Squawk Box depression. Funerals are less gloomy.
Joe certainly was at a loss for words today, lol. Still had a hateful sendoff in him though. Just can’t help themselves. 🤣🤣🤣
I agree. Joe’s last comment, snide, was a little unusual for him.
That was snide and offensive.
$pendy planes.

Look at AOC poll numbers…..
It makes sense that people like AOC; after all, she was the first person to spot that unemployment was low because people have to hold down multiple jobs. Yep, this lady with the economics degree from Boston University actually said that.
Completely shut down ALL foreign aid.
If you are here illegally you get not one thin dime and anything left in your EBT account should be clawed back.
Every person who was a Non essential worker during C**id should be removed because Non Essential is Non Essential.
The bloat in every department or agency should be abolished.
This country needs massive teams of people beholden to none and allowed entry into every system including NSA to rid the hiding places we have recently found out about.
“Every person who was a Non essential worker during C**id should be removed because Non Essential is Non Essential.“
lol. But the problem is that persons deemed non-essential during Cvd are likely just be a reflection of the stupid people’s whims and fancy rather than truly being non-essential.
However, your point is valid. At the very least, they should be required to justify WHY they are essential.
Many of the ‘essentials’ could easily fall in the ‘nonessential’ colomn because they may not be the worker bees.
The socialists are like naughty children who have been raised in an environment where their misbehavior has been tolerated by permissive parents. In this case, those permissive parents are the GOP.
Now they are aghast when somebody comes along and doesn’t take any of their crap (PDJT47) and they’ve painted themselves into a corner where the only escape is capitulation.
They will kick and squeal, but eventually they will fold, or they really will go to bed without supper. For days.
I am absolutely thrilled that we have finally arrived at the point where their nonsense isn’t tolerated any more. I sincerely hope that AOC goes into attack mode and primaries Schemer after he folds. She’s a nut case, but he’s a deeply rooted poison.
Scott Bessent is another excellent Trump pick.
I’m glad he highlighted Schumer’s plummeting poll numbers.
His last statement in the interview was IMO the most telling. A discussion of USA agricultural purchases by the Chinese, specifically, soybeans. When asked why these purchases plummeted, and why the Chinese no longer honored prior agreements past 2020, Xi gave a one-word response: “Biden”.
Russ…whatever you do….
MAKE IT PAINFULL!
President Trump keeps oil permits flowing. Shuts down green energy.
Oil at $60 today which is good. A breakdown below $59 is excellent for inflation and interest rates. Any sanctions on Russian oil will send oil back up to $80 a barrel.

Will anyone have the moxie to touch this or is it too much of a sacred cow?
“As of March 2025, the Department of
DefenseWar accounted for 33.7% of all federal civilian workers, with approximately 770,900 civilian employees. This makes it the largest employer within the federal civilian workforce.”Many if not most of those jobs could and should should be done by our servicemen. Not only would likely be significantly cheaper in the long run, but it would be far better as those skills are transferable to the public marketplace after military service obligations have been met.
Payroll, logistics, food service, etc.
That would take a whole lot more servicemen enlisting. Unless there are a whole lot of servicemen who currently have nothing to do.
How many civilians would enlist for three hots and a cot in garrison for several years?
It would much more dignified then living on welfare.
Get the woke politics out of the Department of War and much of the recruitment issues would go away with inspiring leadership and high standards befitting a meritocracy.
“How many civilians would enlist for three hots and a cot in garrison for several years?”
Not many, or they would have already signed up, unless they couldn’t make the enlistment standards.
Deleted – I pretty much plagiarized another comment due to not reading ahead.
Yes, and that would allow the Pentagon to raise their pay accordingly. One of the reasons the servicemen are paid so spartanly is the huge overhead of the DoW.
Sure, back in the day of the draft we could afford to have privates out there cutting the grass. Not so today, except for “extra duty” (NJP).
Yes, ‘back in the day’, an E1 got about $100 a month.
Yes and in 1970 when I discharged as SGT with war zone pay I got $365 a month…bill
Don’t forget overseas. I was sole medical transcriptionist for seven doctors (and all visiting physicians) at Lajes Field AB, Azores, after getting out of USAF, working in Civil Service for 2 1/2 years while my husband was active duty on Terceira Island. Typed all correspondence for Patient Affairs, pathology reports, birth certificates, surgical reports, all histories and physicals, outgoing aerovac reports, managed the hospital library, backed up the computer mainframe every night.
I made $5.00/hr.
Thank you for your service, Joan!!!
Praise GOD!!! Fight! Fight! Fight!
Last year the head count was 945,000 in DoD, so we’re at about 22% cut.
I’m not so sure about any 22% cut. With different counts, it may just depend on civilian contractors being counted or not. And remember, the Pentagon (aka, Spendagon) can’s even complete an audit, so they may not even know how many civilian government employees they have, or civilian contractors.
Additional note: ( According to reports from Defense One and Federal News Network, more than 60,000 civilian employees have left the DoD since February 2025, representing approximately 7.6% of its total civilian workforce of around 900,000.)
Of course, unless there was a total hiring freeze, additional employees would have been added/hired.
Add 22,000+ CIA employees to that and you’re bouncing off 800,000!
Many to Most of those workers exist to complicate the lives, training and mission of the war fighters. But also many of them are the crap kind of military folks that create a GS position to fill when they retire so they can double dip.
Big Government is worshipped by Democrats as a god. Any talk of cutting the spending of Big Government is blasphemy to them.
The azimuth is set, stay the course!
What are you waiting for and why is Pres. Trump allowing the RINOS, with the new CR to extend the crap he’s trying to cut from the budget? Time to step up to the plate Mr. Bessent. You’ve been planning this for 4 years. You already klnow where the dead weight is. Praying your meeting with the POTUS results in positive outcome for American taxpayers. We can’t wait any longer.
Did that guy just call Secretary Bessent a liar?
He said it sounded like malarkey, come on man.
I don’t think any sane person would quote Joe Biden but this was MSNBC.
I hope that that the idea behind cutting personnel and now allowing the government to shutdown is to find out
… drum roll
Who really IS essential versus who is Not.
Don’t cut you, don’t cut me, cut that fellow behind the tree.
That may have been Reagan.
Don’t think so…Trump and we the people have been curb stomped for quite some time. Winning!
Bessent reemphasizes he personally joined the Trump administration to shrink the scale of government spending, and the administration is not going to flinch on any CR agreement that backtracks on existing spending reductions. .
Usually when one side says it will not flinch, …..watch out for them to fold.
The Most Epic Trollmeister And President Ever says he’s meeting with “Russ Vought, he of PROJECT 2025 fame|, to determine which programs to cut, and that Dems must’ve wanted him to do that anyway. Of course, Trump has thrown shade on Project 2025 previously, and Vought seems to be the OMB director, but ….so much the better!
https://x.com/RapidResponse47/status/1973719655840899088/photo/1
It’s only funny because most of the people on this site and elsewhere have denied its existance.
I see this more as PT trolling his own followers. Which as we know… is not very hard to do.
Just stop already.
Winston Smith: “Does Big Brother exist?”
O’Brien: “Of course he exists.”
Winston Smith: “Does he exist like you or me?”
O’Brien: “You do not exist.”
This site very clearly said project2025 was not a part of the America First platform. You simply can’t read and some of your absurdity becomes much clearer in that light.
It’s time to re-enact the Gingrich-Clinton 1997 Balanced Budget Act…. out-of-control spending, greed and corruption by the Uniparty got us to 37 trillion dollars. How do we know? No congressman / woman has ever left politics with the same salary + net worth as when they were 1st elected, the vast majority became millionaires off the backs of American taxpayers…
This isn’t about republicans or democrats
If they only received there 180,000 salary, they would not wanna make a career out of politics.
It is a scam, that makes everyone of them rich thieves. We are the ones that let it happen.
That Somali Muslim Omar is now a multimillionaire.
Jasmine Crockett would be on food stamps if she was not in Congress. She does not have the intelligence to make millions unless somebody gives her special information.
Our congress is nothing more than hogs at the feed trough.
Scott Bessent is the smartest man in Washington DC. (I don’t know if that is a compliment. : )).
Let’s not just attack the democrats here. There’s plenty of examples of republicans not having honesty and being weak. There’s plenty only difference this time is they are being lead by an administration that has spelled out exactly what’s going on and from an economics point of view, knows what it’s doing. More than that, the Trump team knows how to fight the PR war where in the past, republicans would simply surrender under pressure.
Maybe it’s just me but when somebody says Democrats it automatically includes the RINO Republicans, NeoCons, and Uniparty Congressmen.
Make it so that any deficit in a budget will be covered pro rata from the Congressional salaries. If it exceeds their pay, they receive zero salary.
Let’s start with actually having a budget. If it was up to me, they would not only forfeit their salaries but pay additional penalties for every day there is not a budget passed by Congress.
Due to the arcane way things are managed, we do actually have a budget, as set by the OBBB as a budget modification aka reconciliation. But like so many things, OBBB didn’t just budget, it also appropriated. In theory, spending/revenues (taxes) against the budget should first be authorized, but this rarely happens (for example 2026 NDAA bill passed the house and was placed on the Senate floor calendar a couple weeks ago but they are now saying don’t expect a passed bill until November). So appropriations for defense are going to be mostly at a continuation of 2025 authorized levels until that happens.
They moved the start of the fiscal year from July to October to give congress more time, but they will use the deadline as a weapon regardless of when it is.
Nice!
I consider this Freedom Day #2 and the sun still rose in the morning with the government shut down
Admit I had some concern yesterday as I was scheduled to fly, but seemed business as usual for ATC and TSA.

In all the discussions about what does and does not get funded during the shutdown, I have not heard any mention of the UN.
Let’s put it back in the spotlight. Now is the perfect time to defund the UN, and boot those anti-American parasites from our shores.
Why limit ourselves to leftist salty tears here at home, when we could enjoy them worldwide?
DEFUND the UN. A little FAFO for that broken escalator (and everything else)….
Day 2 – I’m still hanging in there – barely.
Not sure I can make it another day without being fully and completely governed.
I struggled to do my annual cabin filter change today in my motor vehicle. It was rough. /s
IMHO, Hakeem should keep his hat on.

Never any question or concern about the people appointed by Trump to implement and lead MAGAnomics policy.
The problem is always within the deep state intelligence departments of federal government. a.k.a. 4th branch of government. Imagine what could be accomplished if every federal department of government went full MAGA.
Don’t bend now Mr. President. Now is the time to demolish the Deep State and the D Rats.

@GuntherEagleman
🚨Democrats are starting to REGRET their decision to vote for the Schumer Shutdown!
Their panic makes me smile.
“This shutdown could be VERY DIFFERENT from all the shutdowns that we’ve lived through over the last several years.”
The White House told these people DIRECTLY: “The goal is to UNRAVEL enough of the federal government NOW! That it will make it IMPOSSIBLE for Democrats to rebuild it!”
Cont and video linked….
I don’t see any Democrats panicking over this.
I think they are all just waiting to point fingers and laugh at any PT supporters who get negatively impacted by this.
She speak with fork tongue.
Everyone keeps talking like the “clean CR” is the right thing to do, when in reality it is a crap sandwich that retains all of Nancy Pelosi’s and “Joe Biden”‘s spending priorities in place.
How about on offense, now. Don’t keep giving the Dems a chance to vote for the “clean CR”! Instead pass a bill that cuts at least $1 trillion from the budget, cuts the defense budget by 50%, zeros out all the woke and trans garbage, implements all the DOGE cuts, rescinds all the USAID spending, cuts the CIA and other black budgets by 95%, etc.
If there are just 2 options — a “clean” CR or a deal with the commie Dems, the CR is the choice.
That said: it is ENTIRELY the GOP’s fault that THEY did not complete all of the 13 normal appropriations bills on time in the House and over to the Senate in time for them to deal with them. Taking a 5 week vacation just before the deadline didn’t help matters.
The silver lining here is that IF Trump actually takes advantage of this “shutdown” and has Vought do some REAL institutional cutting —- that will be good
No more CRs. The law, passed by CONgress requires a budget. If they don’t, arrest them.
Read the bold towards the bottom
Republican presser…
MAGA FABULOUS!

BTW, whatever happened to the 100,000 federal workers who were supposed to resign @ 12 am Wednesday morning?
Now that Thune has given the Dems a couple chances to vote to proceed to a CR vote — and both times the Dems sustained a filibuster — he needs to just go away and get on with other Senate business.
Don’t take another vote UNTIL the Dems beg for it.
Confirm executive appointments and judges. Do the work.
Diogenes
It may be a long shut down. Dems demands growing??? Trying to reverse the cuts in the BBB now?

“Sen. Chris Coons is now DEMANDING that ALL FUNDING to agencies like CDC and NIH get RESTORED for his vote to reopen the government.”
More of this please!!!!
Now start cutting Mr. Vought…………
Coons is so sharp on health issues that he emphatically emphasized that Biden was “sharp and commanding” and with “mental acuity.”
Well, that was not exactly how I saw it.
At that point trash the whole government and make a new one sans Swamp Monsters.
If the government is going to stop operating, that should include federal tax revenue. When the “shutdowns” start, all tax withholding on private citizens in the private sector should cease.
MAGA
By your illogic, that would also include shutting down the military.
Yeah….that’s real MAGA……..
