R F, for several years, I had seriously considered moving from Essex County Massachusetts to York County, Maine. Even though I am originally from the mountainous Berkshires, akin to the mountains of Western Maine, I was aware that I would always be a flatlander, from ‘away.’
The clincher, however, was the awareness, and it is truly terrible, that Maine government is far worse and more extreme communist than even Massachusetts.
Thus, the Devil I know is preferable to the Devil I am somewhat aware of.
One consolation of being in Maine is there are places that are very sparsely populated.

As you may be aware, funding for some government agencies, including portions of the Department of Veterans Affairs, expired at midnight this morning.
President Trump opposes a lapse in appropriations, and on September 19, the House of Representatives passed, with the Trump Administration’s support, a clean continuing resolution to fund the government through November 21. Unfortunately, Democrats are blocking this Continuing Resolution in the U.S. Senate due to unrelated policy demands.
During the current lapse in funding, the vast majority of VA benefits and services will continue uninterrupted, but the government shutdown is not without consequences to VA. Here is what you need to know:
The following critical Veterans care and assistance programs will be impacted by the government shutdown:
VA will not provide Veteran career counseling or transition assistance program activities.
The GI Bill Hotline will be closed.
VA regional benefits offices will be closed.
VA will cease public affairs and outreach to Veterans.
VA will not permanently place headstones or maintain the grounds at VA national cemeteries.
VA will not process applications for pre-need burials.
VA will not print new presidential memorial certificates.
Thankfully, the government shutdown will not impact the following VA services:
Veteran health care is not impacted. VA Medical Centers, Outpatient Clinics, and Vet Centers will be open.
VA benefits will continue to be processed and delivered, including compensation, pension, education, and housing benefits.
Burials will continue at VA national cemeteries. Applications for headstones, markers, and burial benefits processing will continue.
The Board of Veterans’ Appeals will continue decisions on Veterans’ cases.
VA Contact Centers (1-800-MyVA411) and the Veterans Crisis Line (Dial 988, Press 1) are open 24/7.
Now that’s how you use the government to bypass the media by direct messaging the veterans.
Looks like the Senate is not going to do any work for awhile, they’re just planning to hold vote after vote until the finally get the government open.

FBI Director Kash Patel Cuts Ties With ADL Over Comey Connection
The FBI has severed ties with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) due to James Comey’s previous association with the organization, FBI Director Kash Patel stated in a post on X on Wednesday.
Patel said in the post that the former FBI director had embedded FBI agents within the ADL.

Wow!! In Virginia, Republican Winsome Earl-Sears, who was not even remotely in the race with wacky Dem Abigail Spanbarger has SURGED to within the margin of error in about 4 weeks. The RNC never really tries in VA, doesn’t invest much money. If only they would step up right now and really buy some advertising Sears has got some fantastic commercials that have really made a difference and they need to be running on every station in the state. It is a shame to let a state like Virginia become California East.
