A sniper positioned on an adjacent building, opened fire on Immigration and Customs Enforcement early this morning. However, apparently instead of hitting ICE agents, the gunman ended up hitting detainees within the building.

Federal officials returned fire from the ICE building toward the sniper. The sniper then died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
According to MEDIA REPORTS, “One person was killed and two more were injured in a shooting at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Dallas, Texas, the morning of Sept. 24, officials said.
Officers responded to calls at about 6:40 a.m. local time and determined that a shooter fired at the ICE building from an adjacent building, the Dallas Police Department said in a statement. The suspected shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said. (more)

“Multiple” victims are dead, acting ICE Director Todd Lyons told ABC News, while Dallas police said one person was killed and two were hurt.

This morning just before 7am local time, an individual fired multiple rounds at a Dallas, Texas ICE facility, killing one, wounding several others, before taking his own life. FBI, DHS, ATF are on the ground with Dallas PD and state authorities.
While the investigation is ongoing, an initial review of the evidence shows an idealogical motive behind this attack (see photo below). One of the unspent shell casings recovered was engraved with the phrase “ANTI ICE.” More updates will be forthcoming.
These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off. We are only miles from Prarieland Texas where just two months ago an individual ambushed a separate ICE facility targeting their officers. It has to end and the FBI and our partners will lead the these investigative efforts to see to it that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.

Texas (as with ALL the ex-confederate states) suffered under close supervision of the Federal Courts for a long time, when it came to defining voting districts. ALL the major metropolitan areas of TX have or had very odd and disjointed voting districts that brought the likes of AL Green and Crokett into politics.
The major metropolitan areas of TX have been democrat bastions ever since, as “white flight” from these areas was a very real event.

I have not seen any ‘engravings’ on any of the bullets/cases shown in recent attacks. What I have seen is no more than Sharpies or paint pen messages. Cartridge strength is therefore not diminshed. The bolt action rifles being shown, especially older units, are not significantly impacted by the thiclness of an ink layer. Does anyone remember an AR being used with marked cartridges? Again, media information disseminated by tho,se with little clue about the subject matter.

Looks closer to a 7.62 NATO or .308 cartridge to me. Not a good way to eyeball the dimensions of the picture without more contextual clues or a ruler.
Yes 30-06, .280, .270, 7mm-06 and 25-06 all use the same basic cartridge just some necked down. Same with a .308 and .243. You would also need to know the bullet weight to guess anything.

As a result, President Harding detailed 2,253 US Marines to guard mail trucks, mail trains, post offices, and whatever other US Postal Service facilities they may be directed to guard. And this was LONG after the posse comitatus act was in place. US military guarding federal facilities, operations, and employees against American robbers and criminals.
