This afternoon, Utah prosecutors held a press conference saying they will seek the death penalty for Tyler Robinson, the suspect in conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination. During their remarks they revealed some of the evidence against him, including alleged text messages in which he appeared to confess to the crime. WATCH:

There certainly should have been but I heard the autopsy was already done before jd gave a speech and shipped him to Arizona on Air Force 2. In that article they state the bullet was still inside him. Seems impossible unless it was a fragment that went in his neck.
Charley was wearing a metal vest under his t-shirt. Those metal vests angle in towards the neck. There is a viable theory out there that the bullet struck that angled area and ricocheted upwards into his neck traveling n up int his cranial cavity. The wind in his neck is too large for a normal entry wound so it must have gone in at an angle. No exit wound has been reported.

Forensic autopsies don’t always include an examination of the brain. But in this notorious case, they were probably extremely thorough.

Let me throw out an option here. Tyler THINKS he pulled the trigger that killed CK. But what if others got wind of the plot and decided to make SURE there was no miss. There’s still stuff that doesn’t make sense, such as warnings as far back as Aug 6 that Sept 10 was the day. And he’s saying he just decided about it a week earlier?
The FBI has a sordid history of finding loners with a grudge and encouraging/prompting/supporting them until they reach a mental point to which they decide they’ll blow up something, and the FBI “helps” them build something that won’t go off. But by now, they’ve planted it, showing intent, and the FBI is our hero for finding this guy first, when all along, they’ve been goading the person. Heck in the case of the “kidnapping” case of Whitmer, half the team were FBI informants, and it was shown that it was the informants who hatched the idea. (big black eye)

While I won’t rule out the possibility of Robinson being assisted somehow, and coached or talked into doing this, I will join you in saying that discussions of additional bullets coming from other directions and causing other wounds on Kirk’s body appears to have been left out of the state’s case, so far.
I do not believe such speculation to be “nonsense” considering the history of disingenuous reporting abut fatal incidents we have seen for several decades. Truth has been very inconsistent and often evasive from many official reports about fatal incidents.
Will be interesting to observe the progression of this case versus the narratives coming from the legacy (“fake news”) media.

They show it all very well in slow motion. They do stop before any blood flows – though the hole at entrance is shown and is larger than usual because of deflection and perhaps misshaping because of that. I saw that several days back. I agree with the guy’s conclusion about deflection and the round fragmenting into CK’s cranial cavity, killing him instantly.
The only problem with “instantly” is that the responders seemed to indicate (via initial reports) he still had a pulse, prompting the rush to the SUV and then to the hospital but his heart must’ve stopped (due to blood loss) somewhere between the chair and the hospital.
Mercifully, Charlie was probably unconscious almost instantly and it was only his pulse that lasted a few minutes longer.
If a pulse was indeed still present, Charlie was in EMD, electromechanical dissociation Pulseless electrical activity. Heart still beating, but no circulation, and hence, no blood pressure. Can happen via 5 or 6 main physiologic pathways, including, as in this case, massive acute blood loss. In a healthy young person, it can last for a surprisingly long time. Some causes are easier to correct (hypoxia, drug ODs).
My understanding is that no ambulance was on site for the event. EMTs would have been directed to “scoop and run”. They’d continue CPR even once Charlie flatlined, on scene, in the ambulance, in the ER. Or he may have bypassed the ER and taken directly to the trauma OR on standby.
A young, healthy man in his prime, cut down so tragically, no one wants to be the one to call it. For the patient, of course, but also for the family.

Having no Ambulance / Paramedic team on site was a gross oversight by TPUSA, given the large crowd and especially since they saw sufficient risk to have Charlie wear a bulletproof shield under his teeshirt. But this only adds to the list of questions about the organization’s event security planning that many ppl have asked. Although it is tragically too late to save their founder and leader, hopefully they will ramp up their security & emergency plans for future events.

My kids went to fairly big schools, and ambulances on standby were a common sight at campus events. Utah Valley has 46,000 students, the largest university in Utah.

My parents were blue collar workers, frequently putting in ten- to twelve-hour days. They were thrilled that I got a small scholarship to help in financing college. My mother mailed me a five-dollar bill each week. I studied, and they went on working those long days. I was never asked what I learned. They were too weary to be curious. It’s always so easy to lay a guilt trip on the parents.
All of society shares in the guilt of complacency IMO. Most parents, like yours who worked so hard, would never knowingly encourage their children to be part of something so unAmerican. Guilt trips on anyone are not helpful. Personal responsibility is a better way. I’m sure your parents did the best they could with what they knew. Obviously they wanted you to be successful in life or they wouldn’t have worked so hard. Sounds like they thought college was a good thing. And at one time, it used to be. I volunteered in my son’s parochial school library several years back. The kids were required to do Accelerated Reader books with on-line testing of comprehension. There were 4 books in the AR system that were based in Christian religion, and I bought them for the library. There were dozens about witchcraft, casting spells, reading tarot cards, YA fiction (most sexualized), etc.
I pointed out that most kids knew more spells and curses from the Harry Potter series than they did Bible verses. The kids did the same few Bible selections year after year, learned a series of prayers and creeds, never went any deeper into scripture.
The X thread with this transcript is receiving an almost uniform reaction of “Nope, don’t buy it,” “22-year-olds don’t speak like this,” etc.
All the cops have to do is go back a year or so, and see how they talked to each other to get a pattern, but I agree, I don’t even talk like to my wife, even we we first fell in love.

I am glad they are asking for the death penalty. It is absolutely called for in a serious crime like this. I believe this even though I feel empathy for his family and even for him as a radicalized young man. i believe it strongly enough that even if it was my own son who committed the crime I would feel the same. Justice is important not for revenge but because it protects the innocent. It should be swift and severe. This man willingly committed a horrendous crime that cannot be undone. There is no way to make restitution. The death penalty will not bring Charlie back but it will prevent Tyler from ever being able to do something like this again and it also serves as a warning to those who might be considering similar actions. I know someone who was about to murder someone and what stopped him from carrying it out was remembering he was in a state with the death penalty. We can’t save people from the consequences of their bad choices and we shouldn’t try to.

I think two years is reasonable. It should be the law and automatic. Also there needs to be laws that cases like this need to be expedited quickly. No dragging it on for years. Whatever resources are needed to make this happen should be provided.

Most likely, the texts were abbreviated – but the prosecutor read what they said, not how the abbreviations sound.

Well, Mr. Webb admitted it ‘might’ not have happened as he stated but he believes that it was. He appears to be open to being proved incorrect. His entry/exit wounds viewpoint does appear to be correct. An entry wound doesn’t bleed instantaneously as shown in the stills. An exit wound would. The energy of the penetrating projectile would initially pull all it contacted inward. Bleeding would not be instant but occur after that initial energy pull dissipated.

Not to complicate things even more. Why so much texting about the rifle? Why would a person, fresh off of an assassination share details about a towell?
If you look when he jumps down, there is a big piece of material and from that you can see the barrel of the rifle sticking up as he lands. He then wraps the material around it and holds it down his right side as he walks off.
You need to watch it on a larger screen than a phone to see it.

If you watch closely, he lowers something long, dark and narrow to the roof edge: you can see it dangle from a a strap pretty clearly. Then he gets down, grabs whatever it is, and drops off the roof. After he lands, he pauses to adjust its position or cover it better, then walks / runs to the street. In the texts, he says he left the rifle in a bush where he changed clothes. I don’t know when the police found the video or the gun, but they had it before the Thursday morning planned presser (which was delayed to the evening)

The sacramental seal of confessional is inviolable and binding for the priest even for a murder. However the father in theory could have told the priest outside of the actual confession itself. So, it wasn’t actually confession, and not a priest. The article doesn’t say that the pastor called the police, but that’s what I heard from whatever video I was watching. Maybe they told Robinson that if he didn’t turn his son in, they would have to call the police. Which makes sense, so they wouldn’t be charged with obstructing justice, now that they knew about it.
