Vance, seems to me, to have that “Jeb!” feeling to him.
Preselected by powers that be.
I’m probably wrong. Feelings usually are.
But the GOPe has tried to do that to us before. Again and again.
I don’t trust people anymore.
He is at least somewhere between Jeb! and Obama. I don’t think you’re wrong at all. Bush sr came in on Reagan’s coat tails. The same is expected of Trump’s successor.
But Trump’s whole cabinet feels like the apprentice.
With the extraordinary success of #47’s efforts to date, I will probably vote for whomever our President recommends near the end of his term. After all, he should know everything going on behind the scenes, and should set the stage for what comes next.
I keep thinking that also which still shocks me. I was so disenchanted with him after he became a senator. After being a Tea Party candidate it took him a nanosecond to turn into a captured senator.
I remember Rubio throwing up leading softball questions to Victoria Nuland in a senate hearing. Infuriating stuff. Covering up for the US sponsored bio-warfare labs in Ukraine. I like him well enough now, but can never really trust him.
Agreed. And I wonder if he finally feels the shackles of the swamp/IC are off of him and he can finally be the guy he originally ran to be as a Tea Party member. It’s not that farfetched.
That being said, I can’t fully trust a guy that married a lawyer for a top Dem Law Firm. I’m well aware that sometimes opposites attract. But I’ve dumped girls for being bleeding hearts because I couldn’t stand how stupid they were, no matter how attractive. It concerns me that she may shape some of JD’s decision making. It’s a real issue to consider.
No doubt Rubio is performing above expectations; however, re: “I wonder if he finally feels the shackles of the swamp/IC are off of him and he can finally be the guy he originally ran to be as a Tea Party member,” he should never be considered as Tea Party or MAGA since he ran for president knowing he is not a natural born citizen and therefore can never legally serve as president or vice president.
As good as he is performing now under Trump’s guidance, he can never be fully trusted when operating on his own.
He may also be trying to atone for his time on the SSCI when he was ill informed about things early in Trump1. He has been fairly effective to this point.
Out of the two of them — Rubio or Vance — I’d say Vance is the one who lives for the mirror and he’s the one who has a long list of globalist friends. It might also be said that Vance is one of them; otherwise they wouldn’t have carried him to his current position.

While a lot of credit must be given to Marco Rubio for having four jobs, President Trump has a whole lot more.
YES! He would spit out answers faster than the panelists could ask questions in debates. But his foreign policy was very neocon back then. That’s what turned me off from him and toward POTUS.
Do you remember when Chris Christie made him glitch? That is what I was referring to. He blurted out the same talking points over and over, word for word. It was hilarious!
Don’t remember that specific scenario, but I got the impression that he was very ambitious and very much trying to impress those in power to get ahead. He seems to have loosened up under President Trump.
…and the earlier negative nail, was supporting the 2013 or so, gang of 8 (amnesty bill, miss named border security)

Some times it is difficult to tell if something was learned, or not.

Thank you for bringing up the photographic memory thing. I know I have one as well, but I’m not sure what to do about getting the pictures out of order.

I have to say, Marco Rubio has clearly had the shackles removed and is, finally, back to the guy that got elected for the first time.
I’ve wondered this as well. Does he finally see the chance to become the guy he originally wanted to be when running for office. BEFORE he got beaten down by the system.
That’s a point that Rubio should explain but never will. He got the Senate job through the efforts of the Tea Party and then abandoned the party after winning the election. If you did it once will you do it again?
Marco, has surprised us all!
So many had been skeptical of this cabinet pick and it looks like it may have been one of the best. I hope I do not have to eat this at a later date but from the outside looking in this cabinet appears to be authentic and do not understand the meaning of losing.
Kash Patel still needs to prove himself!

I really think Marco is becoming Trumps “Mini Me”. He is learnin’ while he is earning the Trump ways.( And learning well) . Each time I see him his tongue is getting a little sharper and his testicles a little larger. He’s really becoming Trump fearless.. Couple more years of under PDJT’s wing and our Little Marco is going to be truly incredible.
I’m also a big fan of JD. as he is a great PR and spokesman kind of guy. I’m hoping the 2028 ticket will be Marco and JD as VP again.. I feel this pair could fearlessly keep the MAGA train rolling for the next 2 terms.
Trump is giving him all the international cred. I have wondered if he is endorsing him subtly. Since Fredo is the reason for JD I have to wonder. It’s not lost on PDJT that Fredo is…..well……Fredo!

Comparisons between Secretary Rubio and VP Vance are not fare nor accurate. They have different roles and vastly different opportunities to be seen.
Rubio has the huge advantage of being; Secretary of State, NSA and ATF Director when it comes to the popularity contest due to visibility. The SoS and NSA roles being massive opportunities to act with success and gain praise so long as he stays withing the boundaries set by President Trump.
The VP cannot hold the same roles and is likely even more limited due to the PHYSICAL Threat to President Trump … he has to lay low and out of the lime light. The VP is the 2nd in charge of Executive Branch and his role is likely even even more restricted by the President … it is not like the VP can be assigned CABINET and Agency level lead jobs as the others.
President Trump has elected to allow his Cabinet and Agency leads to DO THERE Jobs … while the VP does what a good Executive VP does best … back stop the boss from the background UNNOTICED unless told to step into the light temporarily to emphasize a key point being made by the Boss. Nobody will ever know anything of VP Vance’s efforts because that is the nature of being the 2nd in command.
I like them both with a wary bit caution due to their past and their backers.
President Trump is a business man who ran a corporation … in a corporation the Executive VP is never in the limelight .. always operating behind the scenes as directed by the CEO.
Agree… Also, IIRC, didn’t VP Vance do a lot of behind the scenes work in getting/wrangling various Senate members on board with the Big Beautiful Bill, as well as campaigning to sell it to voters in various key states? He also does well on various news shows in articulating President Trump’s vision for MAGA and world policy. Just saying, so far he is a good ally and spokesperson for PT’s agenda, without overstepping or overshadowing him.
I do not believe this is Secretary Rubio’s to answer.
The President Drives foreign policy, while the Secretary of State executes the policy.
Secretary Rubio has to act in compliance and in step with that policy .. in this case Policy related to dealing with China and how it integrates into other aspects of economic and diplomatic dealing with China.
Secretary Rubio is not operating independently … all his actions have to be coordinated and in step with the actions of the Cabinet and Agency Leads with respect to the “China Policy”.
It is flat wrong to attribute items to Secretary Rubio as his actions are but one set out of several that have to mesh together under direction of the PRESIDENT.
The U.S. hosted 1.1 million international students last year. Of those, 25% came from China. In 2022 foreign nationals (many of them Chinese) accounted for almost 40% of science doctorates. In AI, nearly 40% of top-tier researchers at U.S. institutions are of Chinese origin. pic.twitter.com/Y5vPVa8SzE
—Students line up & instead of a boring "good morning," they get: → A mini dance battle 💃🕺 → A hype high-five ✋ → Or a ridiculous teacher shimmy 🤪 Every kid starts the day smiling, feeling seen, and pumped to learn.📚pic.twitter.com/BZabx5SXEd
Actually, if you go to youtube, there are a lot of American teachers who are using fun, unique ways to greet their students, too. In this one, Miss Judy has a little chart with 6 options that students can each point to and pick their greeting for that day (a hug, handshake, dance move, fist bump, etc.) I’ve seen others who do elaborate hand claps, soul handshakes, and so on. Just saying, our teachers here are finding new ways to keep it fun and let students know they matter.
So, Rubio is very different than he used to be. Vance has remarked that Rubio is probably the closest to him of any in the Administration. I’m wondering if they were close while they were in the Senate. Probably not important. But I do think that since he was nominated for SOS he seems like a man who had his strings cut.

Almost all of the fentanyl is coming in across the Canadian border. The cartels did not need visas to enter Canada, because of Canada‘s policies. They have set up shop there. China ships the precursors in through the Port of Vancouver. In the Port of Vancouver, less than one percent of all cargo is inspected. That is a government statistic. The Canadian cartels manufacture, the fentanyl and ship it across 5000 miles of unprotected border. Canada is doing little, or nothing to stop this.

Just an observation. I have noticed Marco rarely wears a device on his lapel. I’m not saying he is not patriotic, because the device is actually an identifier for security personnel to know that the person is vetted. It isn’t, as many believe, a symbol of patriotism.
I am usually not 1 to sit thru these, but I must say that this was so informative that I watched wire-to-wire.

I recall RFK Jr mentioning that Rubio always finds a way to get a chuckle out of everyone. Marco is a bit of an enigma still but he’s been doing a great job as Sec of State. Whatever burden that Trump lifted off his shoulders in 2024 must have been huge and I hope it stays removed.
Thanks! I needed a smile.

Can’t believe it, but I’m starting to like Marco. Still have my suspicious cat eye on him, but he’s been solid.
Rubio has been putting Vance to shame with his work ethic and results. Vance is a good talker (not unlike the kenyan) but Rubio is a doer.
The Kenyan was a good reader of prepared notes.
VP Vance speaks extemporaneously and doesn’t rely on prepared responses.
The role of VP is far less visibly impactful than the interactions of SoS.

But Trump’s whole cabinet feels like the apprentice.
Nope.
President Trump likes workaholics
there is a reason he doesn’t have Vance with four jobs
With the extraordinary success of #47’s efforts to date, I will probably vote for whomever our President recommends near the end of his term. After all, he should know everything going on behind the scenes, and should set the stage for what comes next.
Yes
Agree.
They both have their own styles, I for one am a bit surprised by both of them! See how they do for the next 2 years.
I’m a Vance girl
You do realize they have different roles right? Sec. Rubio has defined roles. VP Vance does whatever the President assigns to him.
Vance has one defined role: the president of the Senate.
To be fair though, Marco has more opportunities than JD right now.
If you need something done, give it to a busy person to do.
“Four jobs!” 😄
I keep thinking that also which still shocks me. I was so disenchanted with him after he became a senator. After being a Tea Party candidate it took him a nanosecond to turn into a captured senator.
I remember Rubio throwing up leading softball questions to Victoria Nuland in a senate hearing. Infuriating stuff. Covering up for the US sponsored bio-warfare labs in Ukraine. I like him well enough now, but can never really trust him.
Thus far I like Rubio more than Vance
JD way to close with the Tech Bros.
And Trump seems blind to the dangers of AI.
But, you know, Trump is never wrong.
Scary.

While a lot of credit must be given to Marco Rubio for having four jobs, President Trump has a whole lot more.
I still want to know if he’s getting four paychecks!
It’s refreshing to see Marco crack one given he is most serious most of the time.
Marco looked like he was ready to blow a gasket on the Sunday swamp fest. Keep Marco healthy.
I think of the look on Rubio’s face in the pictures of PDJT’s meeting with Lil’ Z and his menagerie of emotional support animals.
To quote a n infamous woman, he is unburdened by what has been.
Marco has always had a photographic memory and been extremely quick on his feet mentally, even when he was President Trump’s challenger in 2015.
Yes, I remember the ROBOT 😉

I am usually not 1 to sit thru these, but I must say that this was so informative that I watched wire-to-wire.
PJDt was great, I loved Rubio’s opening, & I thought that everyone called on did a wonderful job.
It did not seem like 3 hours went by either.
Rubio is showing some amazing traits. At this point I am beyond impressed with the SoS. Let’s see how this progresses.
The older he gets the more anti left Cuban DNA comes out.
