Following a historic peace summit consisting of EU leaders attending the White House, President Donald Trump says arrangements are beginning for a bilateral meeting between the leaders of Russia and Ukraine. If the approach is successful, this could be a significant move toward ending the conflict between the two countries.

During the meeting we discussed Security Guarantees for Ukraine, which Guarantees would be provided by the various European Countries, with a coordination with the United States of America. Everyone is very happy about the possibility of PEACE for Russia/Ukraine.
At the conclusion of the meetings, I called President Putin, and began the arrangements for a meeting, at a location to be determined, between President Putin and President Zelenskyy. After that meeting takes place, we will have a Trilat, which would be the two Presidents, plus myself.

The “security guarantees” are a sticking point for many of us. From previous statements we can infer President Trump is willing to be a backstop to support the military forces of the EU and other countries. The U.K, France, Germany et al taking the leading role, and the USA is the “in case of emergency break glass” option.

The one thing I didn’t hear this time is Eurotrash talk about Ukraine into NATO. That was a major sticking point. Europe can provide security guarantees, no NATO entry, and we already provide security to Europe. We’ll see.
This agreement could “backdoor” Ukraine as a NATO member in all but name, which is a way of “pretending,” this time pretending Ukraine isn’t a NATO member.
This is all about the BLACK SEA to Putin. His first solution to countries surrounding the Black Sea joining NATO is when he suggested RUSSIA should join. If Ukraine went NATO, Russia could be barred from the Black Sea and denied port facilities by the NATO countries, including tiny Caucasus countries, that would surround the Black Sea. I don’t know if Russia still has a naval base in Syria, but just a year ago they did, and the Black Sea is the fastest route by sea for Russian ships to go there. If Russia had been let into NATO, Ukraine could join and not cause a ripple, and that would be a better “security guarantee” against invasion by Russia than what we are considering now.

The events of the last few days clearly shiw who’s in charge. The symbolism with President Putin in Alaska: first, the Alaska Elmendorf location, the flyover, the press conference and no response to press questions, the warm greeting if Putin, all show that event was planned and executed exactly as President Trump wanted it and in a way to ensure future success with Purin and the EU while marginalizing Zelensky.
Then the White House meeting yesterday with the schoolmaster charm of Trump the teacher and the EU students. Zelensky needed hand holding by the EU who obviously knew they had to behave in order to gave any influence given Trump’s leadership and progress with Putin. They did by praising Trump, no silly NATO discussion, no inane cease fire insistence; the best they could get was some security discussion. Trump held further calls/meetings with Putin and Zelensky as the “Trump ” cards as everyone knew it. He has his plan and he’s doing it his way, not their’s. What an amazing leader he is.
Considering one of the reasons this war started, I believe the best “security guarantee” would be:
No NATO troops on Russia’s border.
