One of my big takeaways from the first few months of President Trump’s second administration is that he is a “doer.” That he has come in and fixed so many things so quickly is a testament to him, for sure. But also reveals just how fking lazy, incompetent, intransient the Blob has always been. Not saying some of this is low hanging fruit, but… it reveals that to fix many of the world’s problems would perhaps reduce the need for the Blob. So the Blob chooses not to fix things (or to make them worse!) and keep holding summits and conferences in exotic locations to sit around a table and circle jerk each other while nibbling on their precious cucumber sandwiches.
For me as someone in finance, when I first heard Bessent talk about Treasury sending out checks without validating which program authorized it or even who the payee was it blew my mind.
