For a couple of minutes I tried to watch the summary of the meeting
on a network channel…
…and just as Putin was about to talk about ukr,
the channel decided to break for a weather report.
So,
I came back to this site,
and watched the replay.
There seems to be a tough agreement formulating,
(pending the eee uuu, providing their feedback on the details. The pending details were not discussed in the summary of the discussion to the press etc. )
Sad that the war even begun in 2022 (brandon etal) at huge costs…huge, huge costs…lives, injuries, property, money, corruption, unaccounted for miss spending, etc.
It sounded like Putin was willing to pause the offense (but, not for long) – while details are discussed with the eee uuu (their promoted war with b o brandon billy c etc.).

I am so very glad that there were no questions allowed from the press. They were so rude to President Putin when he arrived. On purpose I would say. They wanted to taint the meeting before it began. Also why would President Trump talk about the results of the meeting to a belligerent adversarial press before talking to Ukraine and E.U. leaders.
My only comment about the two leaders would be Putin seemed happier than President Trump. There was a great deal of pursing of the lips from President Trump.

POTUS isn’t used to having to deal w/the translation earpiece thingy, maybe that was a distraction for him, I know it was for me. Listening to Putin and the woman speak at the same time wasn’t fun. I need to read what Putin said or find a different translator.
Wear a headset and listen. Left ear was mostly English audio and right ear was mostly Russian audio. I skewed the headset to attenuate the Russian audio and it was much easier to listen to Putin’s speech.
I was looking to see if anyone else couldn’t hear Putin. I couldn’t hear a thing he said and I don’t have head phones. Maybe planned on purpose?
Don’t have a headset, mine broke and I never bothered to get another. I have heard Putin plenty of times and not had this issue, there will be transcript. I did catch he went on a long winded history story, he does like to share those, and I admire him for that.

If you listen to the mainstream media comments about President Putin and President Trumps brief addresses after the meeting you will notice that despite having no idea what was actually discussed they were out to find fault. The media and warmongering politicians in the West are not interested in a real peaceful resolution but only interested in Russia coming out worse but Ukraine was not held accountable for foolishing sacrificing so many lives.
It was also interesting that after not a word about the number of fatalities the BBC on the eve of the meeting was saying a million Russians had died and only 400 thousand Ukrainians. While I believe the casualties of Ukrainians likely outnumbered those of the Russians by 5 to 1, I have not heard the Russian president even once boasting about these.
Normal people would not boast about something like that – but we know the “press” is not normal.
Frankly, I have to doubt those statistics, if for no other reason than that negative kill ratio would not be acceptable to Russia. Check with a knowledgable military person.

After hearing the presidential remarks, it sounds as though President Trump in the meeting detailed the huge economic benefits to President Putin of ending the Ukraine war and restoring relations with the U.S. President Putin, in turn, personally used the opportunity to tell President Trump why Russia went to war. The dispute over the conquested territories was left between Russia and Ukraine. I believe President Trump will make the same economic benefits case of ending the war to Lil Z. I’m not terribly encouraged by what I heard. I’m less convinced than before that President Trump will halt military aid to Ukraine. Hope I’m wrong and the war can end.
Russia had all of those Western economic benefits for 33 years, in 2022, before starting the SMO, and what did it get them? In 1989, the contact line between NATO and Russian troops ran through Central Germany and now it lies ~ 1500km to the East, in Eastern Ukraine, in the Donbas. And last week Trump inked a deal between Armenia & Azerbaijan to position US troops (contractors) in Armenia (2 former USSR Republics) on Russia’s southern border. And lets not forget the Color Revolutions in Belarus and Georgia. With 10 more years of ceasefires (ie economic benefits) there won’t be anything left of Russia West of the Ural Mountains.
Putin understands that Trump will only be around for 3.5 more years and if JD Vance does not win, the IC Salami Slicing will start again, regardless of what Trump promised or said.

IMO the “major thing” that is a sticking point – no NATO membership for Ukraine. Not because PDJT doesn’t necessarily agree, but because of how hard of a sell that will be to the demons in the EU, UK, and Ukraine.
