The Kremlin is announcing that President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin have agreed to meet in person and have agreed to the venue. The meeting will take place “in coming days,” which indicates soon.
LONDON — The Kremlin on Thursday said Russia President Vladimir Putin agreed to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, though a specific date or location has yet to be announced.
Putin adviser Yuri Ushakov said that a “meeting between Putin and Trump (will take place) in the coming days,” adding that “work on the summit has now begun,” the Kremlin says.
Ushakov said that White House special envoy Steve Witkoff had raised the idea of a trilateral meeting between Putin, Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy but that the upcoming meeting would only be between Trump and Putin, the Kremlin said.
“The venue of the meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, has been agreed, and the Kremlin will inform about it later,” Ushakov said.
Though no specific location was disclosed, Ushakov suggested that Russia was “many friends who are ready to help us organize such events.”
“One of them is the President of the United Arab Emirates. I think we will decide, but it would be one of the most suitable, quite suitable places,” Ushakov said.

I would love to see a massive, exclusive trade deal with Russia. We have more in common with the Russian people than many of the countries we trade with now. Trade and strong relations with Russia will do more to destroy the deep state than anything we are doing so far.

Why include Zelenskyy in the talks at all? He is NOT a duly elected President or representative of Ukraine – he’s only backed by the US Intelligence Agencies (and the members of Congress receiving proceeds from their money laundering operations).
I say stop sending $$ and weapons to Ukraine; sanction any country providing military aid or funding to Ukraine, negotiate a fair deal with Russia, and tell NATO this is how it’s going to be. We’re done.

After the NATO meeting 47 attended he is now in a much better position to communicate European concerns to Putin and to elicit something from Putin that may actually address those concerns. I don’t see how anyone could be better positioned as an intermediary than 47 and his team. Very optimistic here.

A one on one meeting with Putin is full of danger. Trump has to be careful not to split with NATO states who afterall are still important allies. Putin would love to cause a giant rift between the U.S. and the NATO states.

i don’t see Russia sending millions of illegal invaders like mexico,
or flooding our markets with toxic, substandard or throwaway goods like china;
Russia didn’t attack the Twin Towers or exist on our money via the Marshall plan like europe, or via outright graft like.ukraine.
i hope PT and PP not only ease hostilities, but plan active cooperation between our two countries –
agreements that are constructed such as to be sabotage proof after PT’s term.
and if PP were to pass along the Russian intelligence reports on some of our worst actors (hello, hillary),
well, that would be quite a bonus, wouldn’t it? 😁
i also think the acknowledgement and gratitude PT expressed towards Russia for their assistance in winning WW2 was well received by PP, something that was rarely, if ever, mentioned in the cold war years.
