ChatGPT Can’t Keep a Secret: Sensitive Conversations with ChatGPT Show Up on Google Searches…
Thousands of publicly shared ChatGPT conversations, many containing personal and sensitive information, are showing up in Google search results, according to a new report.
A recent investigation by Fast Company has revealed that ChatGPT conversations shared using the app’s “Share” feature may be more public than users realize. The report found that thousands of these chats, including some containing personal, sensitive, or confidential information, are being indexed by search engines like Google.
When a user clicks the “Share” button in ChatGPT, it generates a public link that anyone can access. These links are typically used to share the chat with an individual person, or even to conventiently move the chat between devices for the same person. However, many users are unaware that these links can also be crawled by Google and appear in search results.
A simple site search (site:chatgpt.com/share) revealed over 4,500 publicly indexed chats, with many discussing topics such as trauma, mental health, finance, relationships, and work-related issues.

Escalate how? These systems cannot and do not scale – they would have to ingest massive amounts of newly created “data” to start pattern matching on that because they create NOTHING new on their own. If people start using these systems exclusively (I know very few people personally who actually use this regularly) – nothing new will be created and the system will ingest its own slop and the model will collapse. This is already happening. No amount of compute, electricity or data centers can stop it. The whole “AI” hype train is built on fraud – the real kind – investor fraud.
Best case scenario- you will get your AI slop faster and at a MUCH higher price. See how quickly the market goes bye-bye under those conditions. If you remember the dot com bubble or the video game crash – you aint seen nothing yet.
AI has millions of exceptional use cases, many of which are life-saving.
Broadly labeling AI as “fraudulent” tells me 1 – you know very little about it, and 2 – you spend way too much time going down silly rabbit holes.
There was no need for the nasty pejoratives 1 and 2, please be respectful. I was referring specifically to the slop generators (ChatGPT, Veo, Dall-E, etc…). But you did, maybe unwittingly, expose a huge part of the problem which was allowing this tech to be called “AI” in the first place, which it is NOT. You basically have a natural language processor (perhaps the most intriguing part) that feeds a probability based statistical model to try to output what you were asking for from a huge mountain of human product. ChatGPT is nothing more than autocomplete on steroids. Diffusion models and audio/video generators work in a similar manner in a different domain. The systems are stochastic, meaning you cannot predict or control the output, nor control what the receiver might do with it (in the case of Agentic “AI” this is a disaster waiting to happen)
Most stuff labeled as “AI” is just AI washing, tech that’s been around for years being rebranded for $’s. The important stuff you may be referring to might be protein folding models and stuff like that – which does have some important implications. That’s got nothing to do with what the tech bros are peddling. And I sure as hell do not want my physician using chat models to diagnose my problem – effectively replacing his/her judgement with a stochastic reply machine.
The claims made by the likes of guys like Altman – triumphantly stating that this approach is a path to AGI is indeed fraudulent – no question about it.
Has AI given someone answers to any questionss that cost that someone their life or caused financial distress or physical harm? If you answer, “No”, give me a link showing how you know.
Fraudulent as to its’ actual usefulness. AI will stifle innovation. Long term use of AI by students will inhibit or erase their ability to learn how to think and learn how to learn. AI promises to “free us from drudgery” but it is just that drudgery that helps a mind to grow. Having to look up and sort through information, organize your thoughts, and put them in a coherent form another person can understand helps one to grasp various concepts and perhaps build on them. Or to approach a problem from a novel perspective. Whoever controls the algorithm controls the sheeple. The end goal of AI is control by just the wrong sort of people.

Good news for Americans because those hospitals will now provide better care.
I remember in 2016 my wife got horrible food poisoning at her schools 6th grade graduation where she had to present her students for the ceremony. She got home, all 99lbs of her, and got violently sick from food poisoning from the event. Full on vomit and diarrhea. It was so bad after thirty minutes I laid down the back seat of my SUV and put blankets and trash bags down and rushed her to Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington, VA.
I carried her through the door around 11pm on a Thursday in June, and it is nuts to butts packed. I check us in and they tell TO PLEASE HAVE A SEAT!! She was immaciated and probably 88 lbs by this point, still expelling waste from both sides and they acted as if it was nothing!!
As I looked around the room, to get a sense of my surrounding, I realized it was all Latino families, the entire family units, kids to grandparents, and they were not in an emergency.
I asked the people behind the counter to please make my wife priority. They said they had too many patients. I said this is the emergency room and these people aren’t having an emergency. He said that’s just how it is.
Mind you, my wife was the only one having physical violent issues with her stomach and bowels, BUT, there was another guy there that had cut off most of HIS FINGERS AND THEY WOULDN’T SEE HIM EITHER!!!
The only two people they should have seen, at least RIGHT AWAY, was the fingerless man and my wife.
I started looking into what was going on the next few days after and found out that all the illegals in Arlington, VA go to Virginia hospital center a few nights per week for general practice issues and claim it’s an emergency, and the hospital completely allows it.
The kicker in all this is, after 4 hours, around 3 am I had had enough, my wife’s symptoms had subsided from the climax, and I told them to remove us from the list because we are leaving. And they actually TRIED TO SAY IT WAS ILLEGAL FOR US TO LEAVE!!! I looked that DBAG POS in his face and said, please please please try and stop me. And marched out

Retired Magistrate here: I remember my brother. who lived in Northern California, telling me when he took one of his boys to the emergency room and it was filled with people with medicaid cards. My brother had his own business at the time and had private insurance so he started yelling “I have private insurance” and he got his son in for treatment quickly.
A lot of border hospitals got overwhelmed and had to close.

Well, Senate Majority Leader Thune is keeping the Senate in session this weekend to get more of President Trump’s nominees approved. To their credit this term they have approved 120 nominees versus about 55 in Trump’s first term. So, atta boy! Thune puts blame directly on the Dems as they even admit to obstructing nominees to preserve their brand. Thune feels keeping Dems from their vacation may force them to do more approvals of judges, ambassadors and government officials. Only about 130 to go. I have to ask: is this what President Trump wants? Why not a plan to get more nominees approved in a “bulk” deal? Why not just adjourn to let recess appointments be made? I don’t have all the answers but it’s extremely frustrating to believe this is the best they can do. The sad thing is if this is our leadership and there’s no real plan, how can we have any confidence government to being run by people trying to support President Trump and the MAGA agenda voted for by the majority in the last election. Finally, we want that agenda to be implemented while it still can be. Thune, get it done….in no other organization would these failures be allowed!

“… Eugenics led directly to the birth control movement. All the same players were involved, such as Margaret Sanger, who was a member of the American Eugenics Society and was the editor of the Birth Control Review. The primary philosophy was trumpeted on the cover of the Birth Control Review: “More Children for the Fit. Less for the Unfit.” She made it clear whom she considered unfit:. “Hebrews, Slavs, Catholics, and Negroes.” She set up her Birth Control clinics only in their neighborhoods. She openly advocated the idea that such people should apply for official permission to have babies “as immigrants have to apply for visas.”
Why don’t we hear of this connection between Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and Eugenics?
Two words: Adolf Hitler. He officially instituted Eugenics, leading an entire country in carrying out its principles, not only to breed what he believed to be a superior race but to eliminate everyone whom he considered to be inferior. Where did Hitler find early support for his Eugenic ideas? From Margaret Sanger and her circle. Eugenic Scientists from Nazi Germany wrote articles for Sanger’s Birth Control Review, and members of Sanger’s American Birth Control League visited Nazi Germany, sat in on sessions of the Supreme Eugenics Court, and returned with glowing reports of how the Sterilization Law was “weeding out the worst strains in the Germanic stock in a scientific and truly humanitarian way.”
After World War II, when the world learned of the horrors of the Holocaust and the death camps, the term Eugenics was utterly discredited. Margaret Sanger was quick to distance herself from Eugenics and began to emphasize Birth Control as supposedly a feminist issue. We don’t hear about Eugenics at all any more.
But unfortunately, the philosophy behind Eugenics is with us still. Generally speaking, all of the original arguments in favor of Eugenics have become the same arguments in favor of birth control, abortion, euthanasia, and even cloning. [and now, Experimental “Vaccines”–ed.]
Chesterton understood this. But he understood it in 1910 (which is when he started writing this book, which was not published till 1922). As with so many other things, Chesterton saw exactly what we see. Only he saw it long before it happened.
Eugenics, like abortion, bases all its benefits on denying an entire class of humans their humanity. With eugenics it was the “unfit,” which usually meant the poor, the weak, or simply the ethnic-types who were just having too many children. With abortion, there is a perceived benefit to someone by eliminating the weakest and most defenseless of humans: the unborn. As Chesterton says with chilling accuracy: “They seek his life in order to take it away.”
Eugenics and abortion is about the tyranny of the elite deciding who shall live and who shall die. And if it’s about the elite, it’s about money. It was the Rockefellers and the Carnegies and other capitalist lords who funded eugenics research in the early 20th century. They went on to be major supporters of Planned Parenthood. Chesterton says that wealth, and the social science supported by wealth tries inhuman experiments, and when they fail, they try even more inhuman experiments. They are inhuman because they are godless. But they are godless because they don’t want to face how inhuman they are. The wealthy industrialist became agnostic, says Chesterton, “not so much because he did not know where he was, as because he wanted to forget. Many of the rich took to scepticism exactly as the poor took to drink; because it was a way out.”
Eugenics is also about the tyranny of science. Forget the tired old argument about religion persecuting science. Chesterton points out the obvious fact that in the modern world, it is the quite the other way around.
The thing that really is trying to tyrannize through government is Science. The thing that really does use the secular arm is Science. And the creed that really is levying tithes and capturing schools, the creed that really is enforced by fine and imprisonment, the creed that really is proclaimed not in sermons but in statutes, and spread not by pilgrims but by policemen – that creed is the great but disputed system of thought which began with Evolution and has ended in Eugenics. Materialism is really our established Church; for the Government will really help it to persecute its heretics.
Chesterton says the problem with official science is that it steadily becomes more official while it becomes less scientific. “The man in the street,” he says, “must be wholly at the mercy of an academic priesthood.” If people who care about traditional truths attempt to object to eugenics or birth control or cloning, they are barraged with what Chesterton calls “the same stuffy science, the same bullying bureaucracy, and the same terrorism by tenth-rate professors.”” …….

The military keeps the very best, most accurate records… and I don’t remember hearing about that figure when the insufficiency of active duty personnel was being lamented.

Probably not what you want to hear, and it’s certainly never discussed in polite company, but the military accepts a certain amount of injury and death in its people.
Career-ending injuries happen everywhere from basic training to special forces selection to the base gym. People die from way more than the actions of enemy combatants. Sometimes they get the medical stuff really really wrong and people end up disabled (I’ve seen this, and was personally told I was going to have to accept chronic injury if I wanted to get through to my commission). You need a warrant to arrest someone. Which means you need a judge to sign off on it. And your typical Democrat judge will say “no” and your typical Republican judge will insist on a lengthy process that may or may not result in arrests out of fear of being accused of acting like the Democrats.
