President Donald Trump has begun posting the country specific tariff rate announcements on his Truth Social account.
Beginning with Japan and South Korea, President Trump is sending letters to each nation not currently in direct negotiations with the USA. Japan example below:
Both Japan and South Korea are assigned 25% baseline tariff rates “separate from all Sectoral Tariffs.” Additionally, if the nation participates in transnational shipping, the rate attempting to be avoided will be applied to the country violating the trade position.
Example: South Korea (25%) acts as a passthrough for a country with a higher tariff rate like Vietnam, 40%. If South Korea is caught engaging in transnational shipping then the applied tariff rate on the South Korean goods is 40%.
There are eight country notifications on Truth Social from today.

More backtracking on the end point date?
Backtracking?
I believe that we are witnessing the machinations of a master negotiator. The end goal is more important, not the date at which it achieved, methinks.
🤣 🤣 🤣 You were the one insisting Trump bombing Iran was going to start WWIII, right? Did you ever correct yourself there?
Backtracking on the end date? You mean negotiating for a better deal? With him extending dates, it doesn’t harm us one bit, but brings them to the table… It’s just like Iran, he will give them several chances and if they act in good faith, even more time. If not, he implements them…
Either way, it’s a win for America. I believe he’s at a point that he DOESN’T want them to negotiate. He’d prefer higher tariffs and eliminate income tax and payoff the debt.
Someone mentioned upthread that Japan is holding elections either next week or the following week so that is why the “go live” date is 8/1.
I love the wording in these letters!!
Trump stays 90 to 100 steps ahead of these nations, outmaneuvering them as he dismantles the post-WWII Marshall Plan mindset and decades of trade subsidies we’ve maintained since the war.
I love how all of these letters are written in English and any responses will be written in English!
Back in April, President Trump said that he would give the list of the “200 deals done” in 3 to 4 weeks.
I quote: “I’ve made all the deals,” Trump said in a Time interview in late April, saying trade negotiations with foreign partners were nearly complete. “I’ve made 200 deals.”
Bueller… Buuuuueller.
I don’t want to hear about any Uniparty nonsense, either.
You just keep it tucked in, Chris.
Look Squirrel!
Epstein! The corrupt have won. Sold out again.
Secretaries Lutnick and Bessent have explained very well the how and why of tariff policy if you watch their interviews. Multinational corporations, in their extreme greed and their desires to max out profit margins to appease the less than 10% of Americans who own nearly 90% of the stock market, have caused much of the country’s problems from regulatory capture to political corruption to the erosion of the middle class and quality of life. THEY WILL EAT THE LION’S SHARE OF THE TARIFFS. Not the consumer. Because they have already ‘price found’, as Lutnick explains. It costs Apple 10 bucks to make a phone they sell for 1000 because they have figured out the maximum price consumers will pay while allowing them to sell the maximum number of units to maximize profits. The money is and has been going in their pockets to enrich the few and lobby the government for their own benefits. This is why we are in this mess. With the tariffs, they have very little room to go up in price on the consumer because they’ve already ‘price found’ and would risk severe profit loss by making their product ‘too rich for the blood’ of the consumer. But they have plenty of room to cut from their end. This is the process of the wealth transfer from Wall Street back to Main Street without the socialist means of high progressive tax which has never, ever worked but the lefties keep trying. The Rand Pauls of the world seem to honestly think a free society is compatable with a society with a wealth gap widening out of control. We are seeing it is not.
Time to change laws governing domestic corporations. They are “NOT “ people entitled to those valuable rights. Moreover, m
the individuals serving on their boards and executives committing crimes must see orison time. Otherwise, it is merely the “cost of doing business”. IMO, no multinational corporations, no foreign corporations or citizens can own real property in the US. Trust legislation should be reviewed to outlaw foreign beneficiaries. The citizens of the US should retain allof their assets, including those from their labor. Federal Income tax is unconstitutional. Get rid of the central banks in the US, ie the Federal Reserve.
Ive recently noticed a lot of Toyotas……
Very nice letter, clearly explains why tariffs are necessary, fair and appropriate in terms even the mentally challenged can understand.
While he’s at it, he should send ICE, en masse, to the Hyundai construction site near Savannah, Ga.
Verify the SSNs and other identifiers with all the workers there. The ones that are caught as they run away.
It would be interesting to see how many fraudulent and/or stolen SSNs are being used and how much of a joke EVerify really is.
