With the unusual conflicting information coming from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, about the lower confidence level in Iran’s weaponized nuclear weapons program; and contrast against the weird video she recently posted about Japan and the use of nuclear weapons; and considering that CIA Director John Ratcliffe has remained completely silent (although not surprising for him) about the Iranian nuclear program; there is the potential for this otherwise ordinary senate hearing to deliver some surprises.
DNI Tulsi Gabbard is the only administration official who has said publicly she did not think Iran was trying to develop a nuclear weapon. President Trump dismissed a question about the intelligence conflict last night, saying “I don’t care what she said, I think they were very close to getting one.”
As DNI, Gabbard has made some strong moves over the past three months in support of President Donald Trump, including the interception of an impeachment construct within the National Intelligence Council inside the CIA, and the beginning deconstruction of the Obama era Intel Community Inspector General (ICIG) construct.

That part of her testimony was cherry picked to try to cause a breach in the administration and its supporters. Listen to her entire testimony. While the Supreme Leader has not (publicly) authorized building a nuclear weapon, the amount of enriched uranium they now have far exceeds anything needed except for making nuclear weapons. The other aspect that set off Israel’s attack is the development of ballistic missiles. You don’t need to build the bomb if you cannot deliver it. If you are weeks away from building a bomb, you need to focus on the delivery system. Iran’s stated goal is to develop 20,000 ballistic missiles. Israel has assessed that now is the time to act. Trump assessed that from the US point of view, a negotiated settlement was best. Both the US and Israel agree that Iran must not have nukes, nor the ability to deliver them. That is the objective of either the negotiations or the military action. Iran chose poorly. The false narrative, that because we assess that building a weapon is not at the forefront, therefore Israel should not have been concerned about the delivery system, is an MSM attempt to sow discord and lies.
On Gabbard’s “weird” video, I have no doubt that Trump approved it. How many people are willing to risk nuclear war with Russia or China? Her video was to open the eyes of those who think Lindsey et al are sane. The colloquial name for nukes is “hemisphere disintegrators.” We have always had a first strike policy, and our enemies knew it. When it took a power like the Soviet Union more than a month to deploy a serious threat, things were different. Now it is possible to to strike within minutes, almost without warning. A proxy war with Russia or any other nuclear power is not a good idea no matter how much corrupt politicians benefit from the graft associated with it.
Stuxnet destroyed hundreds of centrifuges about 15 years ago but I imagine Iran won’t let that happen again.

Tulsi’s March testimony necessarily had to depend on what the IC provided. Note that she did NOT say “”I believe” Iran is not developing a nuclear weapon – she said that the IC believed that. Since actions speak louder than words, I think we should look to what she has done, which has consistently been to support the President.

After watching her video I’ve got to say it doesn’t seem that “weird” to me. Sounds like she’s just concerned about the world tensions and the rush toward war on multiple continents. Sounds like a call for sanity as the West keeps poking the Russian bear and wanting to keep funding Ukraine’s dead end war. Now we have the Middle East situation with potential Iranian sleeper cells (that hopefully haven’t purchased suitcase nukes from some source) here in the USA. She’s surely seen intel now that he’s in office that we haven’t and never will. Bet she’s learned things that keep her awake at night.

I think she’s measuring Iran’s program against Iraq’s in the 80s. Iraq was very far off due to incompetence and corruption.
While Iranian leadership is thoroughly corrupt, the nuclear side is competent. They’ve been slow rolling their program to squeeze the west for negotiations and concessions – but they never ever planned on giving it up. Both out of ideology and practicality.
They do plan on nuking Israel at some point to bring about their apocalyptic beliefs.
And practically speaking, the world learned very quickly what happens when you give up your nukes after watching Obama’s deliberate policies in Libya. He ensured that there will never ever be any good faith negotiations over nuclear weapons again.
President Trump understands this limitation. Some can be rationalized with, like North Korea. Others need to be crushed, like Iran.

It would be a blessing if we can take them out without “boots on the ground”, not just for us but for the Persian people as well as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and others. Tulsi was confirmed as DNI in Feb, gave testimony in March stating the “IC” assesses Iran is not building nuclear weapons & the “IC” is closely monitoring.
In May, she fired 2 top officials that led the National Intelligence Council, and the council now reports to ODNI instead of the CIA.
I’d say she’s now validating the intel she gets more closely.
