I know more than a few of us were here on these pages discussing Donald Trump in June of 2015 when he announced his intention to run for the Republican presidential nomination.
Many of you might even remember my initial reaction to Trump’s announcement, “Donald Trump could show up to the GOP debate in 5-inch heels, a Carmen Miranda hat and start twerking the podium of Jeb Bush, and I’d still support him.”
All of those years taking apart the republican party strategy and their illusion of choice, for me the #1 signal that Donald Trump was a legit outsider came from his placement in the announcement. President Trump was the last candidate to announce entry; all the other candidates were in place before he announced. That datapoint told me he was for real.
Donald Trump personifies EVERYTHING the liberal left hate – the media will attack Trump with exponentially greater Alinsky force than they did Sarah Palin; and only Trump has the moxy to win against them: (LINK)
So, when did you join the Trump train?

I can’t remember exactly when, but it was after a conversation in the break room with a former AK Steel worker. I saw Trump come up on FOX on the TV and made a remark. My coworker said he was going to vote for Trump, and I quipped by asking him if he had voted for Ross Perot too and he said yes. I figured Ted Cruz was the GOP shoe-in, but that conversation made me aware of what the possibilities were and the level of excitement for Trump. The rallies and debates just sealed the deal on how authentic his support was. I was a National Review Reader, but a Gen X Rust Belt kid, and listening to Trump I found the economic nationalist message/action that was missing from everyone else (and still is). I also had watched a lot men my age go to war in the GWOT, and after the initial defeat of Iraq and Afghanistan I couldn’t square what we were doing in the region to tie up so much of our blood and treasure. So three times I voted for him.
Trump has had the correct stance and understanding of the military-industrial complex for many decades now! (End the endless wars!)
Day 1.
His interviews with Rush.
He was right about everything.
I was on the Trump train when he just made fun of all the idiots vying for my support.
I joined the Trump train in 2014/2015 when Obama started moving against Israel and toward Iran in his second term. I decided then to vote R no matter what. (Former I who voted for Obama once and against once). Thankfully Trump hijacked the R party.
My husband and I were on board that day that he and Melania came down the escalator at Trump Tower…and then a big rally in Mesa, Aricona (at an airport terminal with his airplane parked right there) just confirmed our initial support. Never waivered all this time, either of us. (And we’re the type that would have split up at some point if we hadn’t been unified in this choice. Together since 1989, no kids.) I remember some Canadian guy outside one of our rec centers came up to me and asked why I was supporting Trump. I said two reasons: (1) he can’t be bought and (2) he doesn’t talk like he has a stick up his *ss.
When I saw how the panel reacted
in shocked
pearl-clutching when Ann Coulter predicted Donald Trump as the GOP nominee.
I thought well then, he must win.
I’m not a betting man, but I was so sure that DJT would win, I bet 5g for the win in May 2016. I’d been researching for about 6 months prior to that, so i guess I boarded the Trump train late 2015, and probably found TCT around the same time.
I didn’t realize how much election cheating their would be, but I certainly realized during the count, when I saw those close swing state results.
First step he placed on that escalator.
And I dragged quite a few “unsures” and some “nopes” with me.
Boarded that train and will ride it to its final destination.
God Bless America…and the warrior chosen to restore her through His unending mercies and grace 🙏🏻🇺🇸
I got on the train in September 2015 when I drove with a good friend from Austin to The American Airlines Center in Dallas. My first of a dozen rallies.
All my friends were supporting Lying Ted and I held my ground while being ridiculed for months. I never doubted that he would win. Our 1st of 8 grandchildren was a year old and I felt and believed that God was going to help us save our country for the next generations. I had not ever been so inspired and so confident that I was right. Right now the proverbial rubber is hitting the road and I pray with all my strength that President Trump with God’s help, will keep us out of the Third World War and bring truly lasting peace so my grandchildren will have an opportunity to thrive and that their children and grandchildren have that same opportunity.
We are fighting Satanic forces of evil who masquerade as Senators and Representatives and judges. Greedy bastards who have sold their souls to the devil whether they realize it or not. Viva Cristo Rey!
I had been following President Trump for many years. He had me behind him the moment he came down that Escalator!
On the Trump train since the escalator ride. It was a great delight to tell everyone I knew that he would win in a landslide😉 No one believed me. Many of those have abandoned mainstream media and have awakened. A glorious decade, even with all of the evil. Thank you, Sundance, for providing this forum and opening so many eyes and hearts.❤️
So many things have made me admire him! But when Mr Trump stood back, waited for Dr Ben Carson and walked into the room with him, I saw both a gentleman and a true leader. I also love his humour and still chuckle over his “Rosie O’Donnell” comment! I’ve been a fan of your lovely President since 2015.
I confess, I only supported him after he destroyed all the others. At the time I was still under the fantasy that the GOP was conservative at its core. I only started following CTH shortly after. Sundance broke my brain.
On April 18, 2011, he spoke at a Tea Party rally in South Florida, an a priori presidential moment. The void of a strong leader in the Tea Party movement was in the early stages of being filled.

At a Memorial Day barbecue in 2014 my two nephews asked what I thought about Donald Trump running for President. I told them, I believed he would make a great President. We were all on board.
Trump Tower:
“…and strode down along the pinnacles of Olympos, angered in his heart, carrying across his shoulders the bow and the hooded quiver.”
Homer, Iliad 1. 43 ff
I joined in 2011. I wanted him to run in 2012.
Day 1, and never waivered!
I was for Pres. Trump in 1999-2000 when he talked of the idea of running on the Reform party with Roger Stone. Then in 2012, but the kids were not ready at that time to take over the business. The minute he announced in 2015, I was so in. Love this great patriot.
I am glad to see so many Americans were smarter/more attentive than I was. For me it was November 4th or 5th 2020, when I heard on the radio that President Trump was saying there had been massive fraud in the elections. I didn’t immediately believe it, but for someone in his position to say it made me stop and think, “If true, this changes everything!” And it was, and it did.
I was reading the Drudge report shortly after Trump came down the escalator and someone made a comment there about The Conservative TreeHouse. I checked it out immediately and I started getting the daily emails and updates and I was hooked.
I couldn’t believe how uninformed I was about the swamp and about all things swamp/DC related. For example I used to think Trey Gowdy was going to do something by the way he talked and then Sundance instructed me that was the Uniparty talking. I was bummed but felt better knowing the truth.
I then cut the chord on all MSM related “”propaganda” including Fox and have been an avid reader and sharer since then. I do not comment much but have missed maybe 1 day of posts in 10 years. I used to stay up until after midnight to start reading the various posts from the new day 🙂 Sundance has been a blessing in my life. Thank you sir.
I liked Trump from the beginning. He spoke our thoughts and people listened to him.
I remember sitting in the lobby of a hotel one morning with the TV news on. It was really busy…people walking by through the lobby. When Trump came on the TV and was speaking…the whole room stopped, stood still, and listened to him. It was quite a thing to see. He had that effect (like no other) because he connected to people.
I have to admit, I liked Cruz also at that time. I always leaned Trump but was concerned about skeletons in his closet that might come out in the November oppositional surprises.
Two weeks before the election I settled on Trump. It was obvious there was a movement going on, and he was the leader of it. I never looked back. So thankful that he became such a great president
After the primaries, due in no small part to not even knowing what The Last Resort was, until about two years ago…
After the first debate I was still debating between Cruz and Trump. It was when I found out about the shenanigans that Cruz was complicit in regarding the senatorial campaign that I jumped on board the Trump train!
I still donate to Ted Cruz when his elections come in. Sympathy, I suppose, for the hell that daughter of his puts him through.
The very day President Trump announced I was all in and have been ever since!!! Never doubted, never waffled, never had second thoughts ever!!! Now I don’t remember the exact date I found the Treehouse. But I remember being on Lucianne daily and seeing articles posted from The Conservative Treehouse and when I read it was a “rag tag bunch of conservative misfits” I was all in and have discovered more truth and have been smarter ever since. Sundance became my Rush Limbaugh in print!!! Godspeed President Trump and Sundance!!!
I always wanted a successful, self made businessman to be President, CEO
of our country.
August 2015, first debate.
I was on the Trump Train before they got to the bottom of the escalator.
I didn’t join the Trump train until late 2015 when I heard a speech he did where he was saying how the current regime had grifters like Caroline Kennedy negotiating with tough guys like Putin and how we needed strength in negotiations not weak losers. I listened to the whole speech and was stunned how much I believed in what he was saying then.
I was a Rand Paul supporter ( I know I know but he was anti-interventionist). When he dropped out I looked at who was left and Donald Trump was the most anti-interventionist still in the race and I also thought, well, he cannot be bought. This was 2016 I guess, just before the NH primary…that’s when Rand dropped out.
That day.
Trump Train?…do I get off the LIRR at Long Beach or ride it to the turntable at Montauk Point?
I rode the turn table there, once…I could do it again.
I joined the Trump Train 10 years ago today.
I lived in Illinois in 2016. I voted for Ted Cruz at the time, thinking he was the most conservative.
At that point, I had never really paid attention to (at that time) Donald Trump. I had never watched the apprentice, except for excerpts, which sort of made me think Mr. Trump was brash, and sort of a blow hard.
At some point after that, I started listening to Patriot Radio Breitbart News Daily, and also started to read this blog. Not sure if the actual dates. At the time, Breitbart News Daily was hosted by Steve Bannon. His support and also what I read here had me intrigued. By the Summer of 2016 I was on board. One thing that put me over the top for sure, was his “Gettysburg” Drain the Swamp speech. I hwas already on board, but I can recall citing that speech to some of my doubting friends. If you listended to that speech, Donald Trump was saying exactly what I felt regarding the corruption of our politicians.
President Trump is definitely the best President of our lifetimes, and perhaps the best ever period.
I was a Trump supporter from the day he came down the escalator. I was so excited knowing he was the right person to take on D.C.
My husband and other family members all thought I was crazy, but they came to be supporters as well. I’m so grateful for what he and his family have sacrificed to get us on the right track.
Lived in NYC in the 70s-80s and wasn’t crazy about the Trumps and their wealthy circles. I was opposed to an enormous development Trump wanted to build that would have further reduced the meager sunlight in dingy dirty NYC.
I also knew that NYC was run by mobsters with all sorts of international connections. Trump was realistic about this situation and not intimidated.
I felt sorry for the Trump family during the humiliating public divorce of Ivana and Donald Trump. They handled themselves better than many other divorcing people I have known. That’s a very hard situation to go through.
When Donald Trump decided to run for president in 2015, I was good and ready for a leader who is realistic, who wouldn’t bow to liars and fakes, and would have the courage to try and get our country out of the messes that have developed. Whether we succeed or not, President Trump’s courage and good will has continued to impress and move me and give me hope (and laughter) again
You know President Trump’s mother was beaten by thugs in New York City, don’t you?
No Joan,
I didn’t know that! Now I do
https://www.reddit.com/r/Presidents/comments/17f3rjt/in_1991_a_teenager_attacked_donald_trumps_79year/
When I lived there I did know of several older people who had been robbed and beaten, though. It happened a lot. A disgrace
It was, literally, that day he came down the escalator. Haven’t wavered an iota since. The Biden years sucked, the stolen election really sucked, the lawfare really really sucked, but it was all necessary to get us to this place.
Mid-October 2015, back when I thought Rs could do no wrong, someone posting on Hot Air linked to a Sundance article about the Uniparty and why he supports Donald Trump. Haven’t looked back since.
I struggled to admit to myself much less anyone else that I could vote for him as president. He was famous but I knew nothing of his policies or anything of detail about him except his 3 wives. The more I got to know him, well lets just say the rest is history. I voted for him 3 times!
And he won every time!
Democrats Meltdown Over “King Trump” At Weekend Protests Across The Country
(Maga Mark Dice)
I joined the train after my mother, a long time Treeper, told me he would get the nomination and win. I started digging and found a very different man. Most of what I found has now been wiped from the internet because it is flattering to Trump. She passed in 2018. She sent me here and I have been reading ever since. RIP. I don’t know what name she used here, but the long time Treepers would have known her.
Day one. None of the others appealed at all.
Was happy to have an outsider (non-politician) in the running.
Looking back, I wish that it had been a day 1 decision for me but it wasn’t.
I was so uptight about everything going wrong with our nation that I knew it was a critical decision in 2016.
I had seen very little Donald J. Trump content. I never watched the shows and hadn’t seen the interviews until the run for the presidency was under way.
I loathed the thought of any legacy candidates, cough Jeb!, and had been let down by the fire breathers like Cruz.
His duel with Kasich exposed exactly how rotten the GOPe was and how they had to be defeated as well as the libs. As Donald Trump exposed them, laid bare their inadequacies, egos and outright complicity, I began to hope that he was for real.
Boy was he.
God Bless President Trump. He had my husband’s support from day one.
From the git go!
Got on board during the 2016 primaries… the more I heard Donald Trump speak… the more I respected him!
MAGA👊👊❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻
It’s Joel Gilbert’s excellent documentary of then candidate Donald J Trump’s epic campaign for his 2016 win. It’s gold. I’ve watched it multiple times its that great. PDJT destroyed all the fakes and the one genuine candidate Dr Carson, endorsed and joined him.
Trump: The Art of the Insult | Biography, Documentary
I started following Trump the day i read Art of the Deal at thebeginning of my professional career. He’s brilliant along with Tom Peters!
February 20th, 2016. I did vote for Ted Cruz in the South Carolina primary, even though I knew Trump would probably win my state. Once, those results came in and it was obvious that Trump was on his way to the nomination I decided it was best to get behind him. Have never regretted that decision.
I remember political commentators and talk show hosts saying his candidacy would be done once summer was over and people started doing some serious looking at candidates and policies. Yes, we did, and that’s why he won. They all thought it would be Jeb! 🤣🤣🤣
I was with him from the start because he wasn’t a politician.
This day 10 years ago. Unwavering. Hoping he would demolish the gOP.
First Day for me, was the day 1st reported that Donald Trump was interested.
I was here on CTH, under the very same screen name for both the Bush II years as well as the 2008 and 2012 elections.
I can still see the policy and campaign score card assessments, written on the ceiling to floor white board in my office at work … with 3-columns … left up in plain view for all to see through November 2016.
Donald Trump
17 Republicans
Clinton or Obama
My score card drew the same conclusion as Sundance … which I also wrote at the bottom of the score card …. Donald Trump was the only Republican Candidate with a chance to overcome democrat and media machine.
I also predicted on that score card and commented here on CTH that Donald Trump would be competing vs the full weight of the US Government – ALL 3 Branches.
My office was on a corner, had lots of traffick and my white board very visible to those passing by … it was fun doing battle is all I will say.
