I know more than a few of us were here on these pages discussing Donald Trump in June of 2015 when he announced his intention to run for the Republican presidential nomination.
Many of you might even remember my initial reaction to Trump’s announcement, “Donald Trump could show up to the GOP debate in 5-inch heels, a Carmen Miranda hat and start twerking the podium of Jeb Bush, and I’d still support him.”
All of those years taking apart the republican party strategy and their illusion of choice, for me the #1 signal that Donald Trump was a legit outsider came from his placement in the announcement. President Trump was the last candidate to announce entry; all the other candidates were in place before he announced. That datapoint told me he was for real.
Donald Trump personifies EVERYTHING the liberal left hate – the media will attack Trump with exponentially greater Alinsky force than they did Sarah Palin; and only Trump has the moxy to win against them: (LINK)
So, when did you join the Trump train?

I got on the Trump Train Day 1 because I had a feeling about him for years prior…just a noticing that he was special.
I knew he was going to win the moment he told Megyn Kelly the “only Rosie O’Donnell” response during the first debate. Finally, I thought, someone had given the media the respect it deserved!
Joined after the the Fake Fox News “hit piece debate” seeing the obvious dishonest assault, from Wallace, Baier, and Kelly
Later after the San Jose attack on the rally, with the Mexican flag wavers assault with the “law and police” complicit in the violence, determined that if did not win the primary, would write his name in.
Some time in the last millenium!
I was intrigued by him when he came down the escalator and gave a speech. Contained in that speech was everything I had been wanting in a President. Trump talked like someone who had sense-Common Sense. It was a wonderful day!
Same here, and at the same time I thought, nah, they will never let him win, but he did!
It was 2015 but not in the beginning. My daughter in all visited/visits here and told me I needed to check out Trump. I came, I read and I believed. Been here ever since except a few times I left because people jumped on me about a post. I don’t always agree with Sundance, mostly I do, but I also admit he way smarter.
In 2015 I was on holiday in Florida in the summer of 2015.
With lazy days by the pool I did a lot of reading (mainly Brietbart), but then more toward TCTH as the election drew close.
DJT had all the momentum and common sense. His opponents not so much.
I was hooked on DJT from that summer and have read here pretty much every day since.
Not looking for brownie points but a small monthly donation toward the TH upkeep.
Thanks guys
Sundance convinced me more than Donald Trump did. I never liked his TV show and always considered him a braggard throughout the years with little substance but he always exhibited a lot of willingness to swing for the fences which I did admire. But after Sundance explained his take, I began to see Donald Trump in a new light. So definitely it was Sundance that got me on board and I have helped many others to board ever since.
1985, in the 5th grade, we had prominent figures we liked up on a wall in school, and T’s was up there: some kid next to me looks at T’s photo and say’s, “Trump’s going to be President one day.”
I knew my vote could NEVER be cast for Hillary. I stumbled on this site in early 2016, loved it, trusted Sundance immediately and became a staunch supporter of President Trump. I can’t imagine my day without the Treehouse.
Same time as you, Sundance. I told my family, I’m voting for the businessman this time around!
Day 1
Having lived in New York I was very well acquainted with Donald Trump. He has always impressed me. Something about him was “real”. Over the years he also made appearances on Rush’s show…still impressed.
When he came down the escalator on June 25, 2025, the deal was sealed. I have never looked back. Unfortunately for the people who lie about him. Their lies only serve to fortify my love and admiration for him. I have no doubt that LOVES this country and he LOVES its people.
I don’t think and have never thought he is stupid, or clueless, or corrupt, or mean, or… or… I have never and will never believe any of it.
May God continue to grant him grace, health and strength.
…Then their is his lovely wife… What can I say? My heart is hers!!!!!
PS. Please don’t tell my husband I wrote that 😎 😎 😎 😎 😎
PS2 – It was Rush who directed me to the Treehouse when he read Sundance’s open letter to jonah goldberg. Oh yes! The bad old days!!!
And lest we forget the first ever midnight rally – 2016 in Sterling, VA. I wuz there.
❤️
I’ve become a great admirer of Melania as well. She deserves way more credit than she’s ever received (but never sought).
As a mother, I can’t begin to imagine the stress/pressure felt while raising and protecting Barron since the first administration. She remained dignified classy and elegant through it all.
Best First Lady EVA!
btw – I heard Melania was responsible for the music/entertainment during WH Governors Ball a few months back….
…I think she’s got The People’s back🥰
I still remember my Facebook status that day…”TRUMP!”
I remember because it caused a kerfuffle amongst my liberal uncles and pearl clutching from my more conservative family members. My reasoning was simply that he was an outsider.
I started reading CTH when Rush drew attention to Sundances outline of how Jeb! (please clap) was set up to face The Hilldebeast with 25% of the primary vote. Everything made sense with the splitter strategy.
I joined the Trump train following his election in 2016 (I “held my nose” and voted for him). In the primary I voted for Cruz or Rubio, lol, don’t even remember. I hadn’t really followed the campaign much and didn’t take Trump seriously. I secretly laughed at my clients who supported him, thinking, he only cares about himself and will promote his own interests only. Then I found the Treehouse and learned all about the uniparty and all about Trump. And I saw he was doing great things for us peasants. Been on the Trump train ever since. So apparently it’s possible for a rational person to recover from TDS!! 🙂
When I saw Jeb Bush’s eyes reacting to candidte Trump during one of the debates. I knew DJT was the real thing
I was confused about the entire Republican ticket in 2015. I saw some good things in some of the candidates, but then I began to notice Trump started winning….then I noticed he kept on winning. I was still a little doubtful, but then he won all the primaries! Around that time I happened to read a book called Hillbilly Elegy by someone I had never heard of. After reading that book I understood something I hadn’t fully grasped: the rust belt. All the people whose lives have been damaged, destroyed, or worse, families undone, towns emptied of businesses, families are either one of two types: either you are on welfare or you are working 2-3 jobs just to survive. All those middle class jobs vanished, taking so many lives and skills with them. That is when I realized that Trump was listening to these Americans and that it was very important for all of us to listen to them and learn what they had been experiencing. Because they were never responded to by any politician before that time. Sure they were promised everything; but they were delivered nothing.
So between seeing that Trump WAS winning, and then respecting him for listening to our fellow Americans who had lives ruined by NAFTA, and other wealth extracting elites, I was sold on Trump and voted for him then and every election since.
I got on the Trump train on February 13, 2016, the night of the South Carolina primary when Trump went nuclear on the party. He dropped three grenades that night and I thought: Either he wants out or he’s all in. Then South Carolina Republicans overwhelmingly chose him in the primary a few days later. Clearly he was here to slay dragons.
A gentleman whose children I was tutoring, a fine and religious family man, said that his extended family members were backing Trump. I was a Ben Carson backer, but was concerned that he might not be tough enough to fight the RInOs.
When I saw how, at the first debate, the other skunks pushed past Dr Carson to get on stage and DJT stopped and motioned him forward, I saw the real man behind the bravado.
Once I heard his views, I never looked back.
Seeing how then candidate Trump treated Ben Carson at the debate was a turning point for me as well. My husband was always on the Trump train but it took me a bit to warm up to Trump as a candidate. By the general election of 2016, I was fully on board.
When soon to be President Trump brought some Angel Moms on stage with him at an early Trump rally.
Up until that moment I was split between Cruz and Trump – could have gone either way. Angel Moms put me on the Trump Train for good.
Hopped on the train that day, and Sundance, the Treehouse, and the Treepers have helped keep me sane ever since.
Mean orange man messed up the narrative that day, it was supposed to be Jeb against Hillary, and Jeb would put up the valiant effort but would lose to Hillary and the plan would go on as scheduled. He threw their plans off and for that he has to be destroyed, as a reminder to all to not deviate from the plan.
Amen!
All Bush’s – CIA / deep state globalist “friendlies” starting with granddaddy Prescott.
I was pulling or Ted Cruz and NOT excited at all by Trump coming down the escalator. I thought he was a media creation, and the media would be able to kick him to the curb. I quickly warmed up, but only got 100% on board when Ted Cruz was done. Cruz lost me for good with “Vote your conscious”.
I joined for good when Trump told Hillary, “You’d be in jail”
Became regular reader during Trayvon Martin case and therefore read re Donald Trump from day one.
I kept reading and RE-reading to fully grasp what was being said about the 2015 state of US politics. I showed
my readings to my hubby to see what he thought and eventually we both GOT IT!! Then we were on a road trip from
California up to our home in rural BC, Canada when we noticed all of the TRUMP signs.
By then we were convinced that DT could win the election and put a bet on in UK using family and on election day we were paid out $9000 !! The money was used for our first trip in our retirement which started with an Amtrak journey across the US. If we had “got it” sooner we could have placed a bet for him winning the nomination when the odds were 500 to 1 but
no complaints from us!!
I didn’t get on the Trump Train, he got on mine. There was an overwhelming desire for Someone to step forward to represent us, and it turned out to be him. Six votes later, we’re still ridin’ together.
I clearly remember exactly how I felt.
My impression was the he ,Trump was a reluctant warrior who didn’t make his final decision to run until just before he stepped on to the escalator.
I honestly was under the impression that Trump knew that if the future was trusted to the political class this great country would surly have been lost.
I got on the train before he even reached the bottom of the escalator. I was sick of politicians, still am, and have been saying for years that running a country is like running a business and that needs a savvy businessman, not a corrupt politician.
The moment Donald Trump came down the elevator, the Holy Spirit spoke to me with these simple words: “He will be the US President.” When I shared that with my family, I was the laughingstock of family and friends.
When the wise conservative patriot, Phyllis Schlafly strongly endorsed Donald John Trump.
Day One
I initially supported Trump because I could no longer stomach the lying, posturing Republican establishment, who LARPed as conservatives every four years and then in the in-between time were indistinguishable from Democrats. And as much I couldn’t stand the idea of a President Hillary, I wasn’t going to support Trump at first. A New York liberal, darling of the far left beautiful people? I don’t think so.
But then I began to notice how he riled the GOPe. They simply could not stand him and it was clear that this was no mere ‘Good Cop / Bad Cop’ cosplay, they really hated him, he was upsetting the apple cart. And that thrilled a bunch of us, even the great one, Rush, took notice! The cry soon arose, “Burn it all down!” We had every reason to believe that Hillary, the wicked witch of Washington, was going to run away with the election so we wanted the satisfaction of at least seeing the Republican party, in faux-conservative garb, crash and burn. The thought was that something new and real would arise from the ashes and we could just hunker down and try to survive Hillary.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the bonfire…lol
Trump began to resonate. He was not only opposing the GOPe, but doing it in populist garb that said “A pox on both pretending parties!” and a bunch of us started to think “What if?” on both sides of the aisle. By the time he won the Republican nomination, I had prayed, suspended disbelief, and jumped on the Trump Train in truth. Full steam ahead, you can still burn it down but now, like a Phoenix, rise from the ashes as something new and better. This guy seemed for real.
Talk about a pivotal moment in American history. I haven’t regretted my vote one day since the election. Not as a Christian, not as a patriot, not as a free thinking American who is just silly enough to think our constitutional Republic is actually worth preserving. So all of Hillary’s, and later Kamala’s, millions thrown at me telling me all the reasons I should be ashamed of my support for Trump was simply money wasted. Any political whore can be bought off with a few million in oppo campaign cash. A person’s true convictions are a pearl without price.
Trump is not perfect but guess what? Neither am I! But we’re going in the same direction so you really can’t pay me enough to go the other way. So save the opposition money for a summer house in Martha’s Vineyard down from Obama’s hideaway, it’s not going to buy traction here. Some things are bigger than money, and those things come around maybe once in a lifetime and when they do you do what you have to do and despite all the storm of opposition, we’re all admiral Farragut then because it’s “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!” 🙂
J
Honest, I endorsed him the day you wrote optimistically about him on CTH Sundance and my only regret, again, in step with you, has been some of his choices. I will always believe Steve Bannon played a major rule when he convinced Presdent Trump to go to that airplane hangar in Wisconson on the last sunday night and President stated afterwards that for the first time, as he left, he felt like he could win. I will always believe there should be a place for Steve somewhere.
Day 1. It was right after that escalator ride and speech. I called my sister and said, “Dad’s running for president, (our dad had the same no BS personality), “and, call me crazy but I’m going to vote for him.”
I was a Trump supporter from day one…my instinct usually has served me well all these 70+ years and I have learned to trust it!!!
When he shut down that stupid Jeb Bush and humiliated Megan Kelly when she tried to ambush him in the first debate. That told me he was a fighter who pulled no punches and I wanted him doing the same for me. And, man, has he delivered.
Hat/tip to “Hanna” – for sending us this wonderful reminder of Trump’s entrance to the music of “Les Deplorables”..
Sept. 16 — At a rally on Miami on Friday, Donald Trump took the stage to “Do You Hear the People Sing” from the Broadway hit “Les Miserables.” Last week, Hillary Clinton referred to some of his supporters as a “basket of deplorables.”
That was a FANTASTIC day here at the Treehouse! It was really exciting to see Keln’s image become part of the campaign.
That piece never ceases to bring tears to my eyes.
Same for moi!
I sought out and bought a “Proud Deplorable” magnetic bumper sticker at the next rally in the Midwest after that (I went to ALL of them within a day’s ride from my home). First she’d called me a “Member of the Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy” back in the 1990’s; then she called me a Deplorable! I’ll wear those badges with honor!
All his interviews in various places, you just knew this was going to be different.
Even the interviews with Sarah Palin, giving her support.
So I never looked back…all the way.
When HRC became the overt choice of those who saw no problem with electing a deplorable lier as Command in Chief.
The more I saw, the more I questioned the weight thrown behind HRC from the msm with zero shame.
What really cemented it for me was John Kerry announcing the Paris Climate Treaty with the back drop of CodePink and Move.org smug faces.
That stuck with me.
Shorty later after Trump’s escalator entry.
I started putting names behind these faces which lead back to Goldwater/Rockefeller/McCain political legacy within GOP circles.
That is when it hit me everyone sent to DC is a vetted sellout.
Bought and paid for!!!! The deep staters and establishment hate him so much because they CAN’T CORRUPT HIM!
I was on board Day 1. Prior to the escalator I was rooting for Ben Carson, whom I love also! There will never be another Donald J. Trump. He is an amazing man and I cannot imagine that there is anything that would make me waiver. He is Everyman.
I was a Trump fan before I found CTH, than when I did I knew I was not alone anymore, bless you Sundace and President Trump.
Right away. Having previously voted for Ross Perot (1992 & 96) and later for Ron Paul in the Republican primary it was hard to believe that we true conservatives might have a standard bearer with a chance to actually win.
It is for that reason I will not withdraw my support under any circumstances. There were some things in his first term and some now with which I disagree. But being pragmatic, he has no peer, now or in the foreseeable future. If he can leave office having moved the ball significantly I would feel ahead of the game if a J.D. Vance or Marco Rubio just maintained what he did and did not lose too much gained ground.
I became a supporter in August 2015. My initial reaction when Trump made his announcement in June 2915 was that this was a joke, after all the man is a marketing master. Then I went to his campaign website and read his position papers on immigration and taxes. I thought, hmmm, this man has the same positions that I do. From that point on, I became a Trump supporter.
Day 1 and never looked back!
During the first debate after Megyn Kelly attacked him and he’d had a chance to respond to a few questions; otherwise, had been an anti-establishment GOP voter, never thought I would vote for a NY Republican. Been on the train ever since, PDJT has revealed so much about US politics, it’ll never be the same.
I remember it like it was yesterday. My husband and I watched on TV. Afterwards I turned to my husband and said “he’s either controlled opposition or he’s the real deal–I’m going with real deal”. My husband responded “he’s a successful business man and I’m not voting for Hillary”. After his announcement I found his website and donated $50 to a billionaire. I’ve never regretted it. We’ve been on the Trump Train since Day 1. 🚂
Since the beginning, and full speed in hopes he could prevent warmonger Hillary from becoming President.
Because he is not a lawyer.
Then.
When he took his first step onto the escalator.
I was completely won over when I saw the gracious, classy way he accompanied Ben Carson onto the debate stage after the other candidates blew right past him. I saw a man who was confident, empathetic and genuine, and my admiration for him has only grown from that day to this. You can’t fake that kind of authenticity, and he hasn’t disappointed me yet!
Truly classy.
All I knew about Trump was that he was extremely wealthy, handsome and charming and comes from NYC. The only reason I paid attention to him when he came down the escalator was because of Sundance. But, I was totally on board after that incident on stage with Ben Carson. I knew at that point there was a lot more to him.
Mee too!
