In addition to celebrating the birthday of President Donald Trump, today marks the 250th anniversary of the Army. There will be a grand military parade down Constitution Avenue in Washington, DC and festivities to mark the celebration. The tanks are staged and ready to roll. Fencing and barriers are up. Protective metal plating has been laid out on Washington’s streets. And more than 7,000 troops are poised to march near the National Mall to honor the Army’s 250th anniversary on Saturday
President Donald J. Trump will join veterans, active-duty troops, wounded warriors, Gold Star Families, and Patriotic Americans from across the country to celebrate our heroes who have protected our country through strength and selflessness.

I had C-SPAN on and saw the historical procession with period uniforms and mechanized machines.
I had no desire to listen to FNC talking heads, so I changed the channel on my mother.
Watching on Right Side Broadcasting Network and they showed everything and no interruptions or talking heads.

Werent you watching from the beginnig they had the ones dressed as Revolutionay soliders, Civil War Soilders and uniforms from WW1 WW2 and modern times..and the narrator was telling us about the history of each period…

It’s cavalry, not calvary. Calvary is where Christ was crucified. Cavalry is a military force mounted on horseback .

And, by chance, they were actually in step with the music, seriously, unlike all the poor b’stards who had to march to loud ROCK MUSIC! That was impossible with most of what was played. Try it some time. DUMB choice by whoever planned this. There is music MADE for marching. This is WHY.

Watching the flybys caused me to remember ‘Pard’ Cardenas, rest his soul, answering the call from Harry Truman to fly a YB-49 down Pennsylvania Avenue in 1949. I can’t imagine the sight of a jet powered flying wing headed straight for the Capitol. Sadly, Bob left us in 2022 at the age of 102. He was Chuck Yeager’s drop pilot on the sound barrier test.
However, I can offer my personal version… circa 1992. Not fake, but actually recorded on my 8mm camcorder as they did tests of ground following radar of the B2 going right by my shop at ground level.
Wife and I were along side the reflecting pool when the B2 overflew the Trump45 4th celebration.

They are awesome. 20+ years ago, I got to fly in their jump plane to 13,000 ft – they actually don’t ‘jump’ – they just walk through the open hatch… and poof! They’re gone.

The oath to the cadets, directly by the Commander-in-Chief, was one of the most patriotic things I’ve ever seen. They will never forget that. And, after, “state your name,” no one repeated that line verbatim (cf. “Animal House,” – *snicker*).

Lol, I just got a lecture by my Uber liberal, Trump hating, close family, young men, that this parade they noticed I was watching and enjoying, is full on proof Pres. Trump wants to be a dictator. That the country is only existing by the thin thread because of the Democrat opposition, that the no kings protests are also proof that Americans don’t want this kind of country even though more than half of us feel just the opposite. They say we are enablers of Pres. Trump’s desire to be a dictator, naive, refusing to see what’s going on. The economy is beginning to boom again but they refuse to even see all of that. We are wrong, they are right and there’s no compromise from them. They are msm reporters through and through. have to realize we are at a family gathering and to engage in any discussion would be highly unpleasant for all here. I bit my tongue, hard.
Sigh, it was more than disappointing but expected. I have resigned myself to their resistance to rational recognition of facts even though they are college educated and smart on paper people. I just looked at them and asked calmly and sincerely, why do you think you’re right and millions of other Americans, the majority, are wrong? No rational answers were forthcoming because they really had no answer for that.
I have resigned myself to them never getting it, that they believe the msm, the liberal talking points etc. I will probably leave this earth with them still demanding we change and not them. I tried early on in PTrump’s first term to get them to see the truths being told by him, what he wanted for America, what he wanted for each of us. They just would not get past their extreme dislike of the President to see what was actually being done that was helping all of us. I finally just said so be it with them because it was not worth destroying our family over their ignorant pig headedness. I was hopeful they would see the positives as the years went on in the first Trump term, but it never changed. They loved Biden and swallowed the whole false changes the handlers/media created for Harris, made her look like a heroine, when Joe couldn’t go. I have concluded as many of you have, that some of the liberal left just will never see the light.

They were raised in the Catholic faith, went to Catholic schools right through high school. They know Christ. They chose to turn away as adults, although in a discussion with one of them a short time ago, he admitted he still believes in God. How he reconciles his liberal left beliefs with his belief in God I do not know and am not sure I want to.

In 1961 President John F Kennedy visited Ft Bragg to vist the Special Forces. My husband was stationed there and 45 years later he still talked about it. He was proud to have met him and it did so much for morale…

The 100th anniversary of the USAF will be in 2047. By then, it may be an air show featuring unmanned drones if there aren’t enough former pilot generals still around at that time to prevent that.
The good news is, up until 1947, our brave warriors of the air were Army!
I’ll bet scores of fathers of my generation are among them, so we celebrate them today. I did my bit with a Vietnam vet, the ex-husband of a neighbor up here, an Army grunt, who’s living with her as he dies from cancer. I gave him a shout out and honored his commitment to his country.
