Before taking office, President Trump once told a German journalist in an interview, “Camp David is very rustic, it’s nice, you’d like it. You know how long you’d like it? For about 30 minutes.”
So, the big picture questions become:
What issue would be of such importance, that changing the venue would be needed in order to address it?
What issue(s) has DC interests so aligned, that Rubio and Trump are two of a very small group on the other side of it?
I suspect this is about Iran.

Put the datapoints together and my speculation is… The terms of an Iran agreement not to generate or build nuclear weapons comes down to the issue of verification. In the verification aspect, perhaps, just perhaps, a Russian inspection regime could be negotiated in the deal. Vladimir Putin agrees to utilize Russian scientists as the verification component of a nuclear agreement between the USA and Iran.
That type of agreement would necessitate a pitch to U.S/Israeli advocates (congress and others) that a joint verification group of Russian and USA nuclear inspectors would audit and verify compliance with the terms. The unspoken details would likely include Russia as the lead, in order to gain support from Iran, but that would be a matter of executive level discussion.
Obviously, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli government, the Israeli lobby in the USA and AIPAC beneficiaries in congress, would collectively go bananas.
It’s just a guess; pure speculation on my part, but something like this seems quite possible if you followed closely.

What I found interesting is that originally Carter wanted to close it. He visited it and realized it was a great place to get away from DC for the President and his family and went almost 100 times in his four year term.
Reagan liked to go because it was closer than California and he could ride horses there.

Is a trap being closed? I realized that Pompeo, Blumenthal and Graham were in Ukraine the day before the Russian airport attacks, as if they anticipated the attacks, like they knew in advance, perhaps because they expected Le Morte de Putin. If the Russians had proof of persons, on our side, fomenting war outside the chain of command and without the knowledge of President Trump, would they share this proof with the President? Maybe that is what the Camp David meeting is about. He would receive the information and choose to act upon it or not. If there is such a trap to close, it will take firmness in the right, a strength I know our President possesses. Sometimes there has to be the spectacle of arrests. I would have Camp David heavily fortafied, with solders, and top soldiers.
I would remove all tech from everyone that has anything, and go through very advanced scanners, and have top security experts (Trusted), from all 5 arm forces, access everything.
Then I would set up a couple of rooms for advanced health monitoring and take blood work, and have everybody that attends meetings to advanced LIE detector equipment , and sit in special chair with lots of sensors in them. Each person would ask things like “have you spoken to MSM about any TOP Secret file, ever. And if so, who and when. Are you a communist, terrorist, etc… looking for “spikes” in graphs. Do you have contacts with China, Europe, Isreal, Iran, etc … and if something “spikes”, ask more questions to see if anything pops up.

I suspect this is about how to deal with the insurrection taking place in Los Angeles that now has the backing of California Governor Newsom. Essentially telling federal law enforcement to get out of California and that federal immigration law is not recognized in California. A forceful response is needed requiring federalizing the National Guard there to restore order and protect ICE agents.
There are only two ways the Iranians will stop their efforts to build and use a nuclear weapon. I am NOT advocating for the first, which is they no longer exist. The second is that they have nothing left with which to work.

My first thought after reading SD’s “I suspect” has to do very much with his recent talks with Putin. Likewise it was my first thought before I got to SD’s inclusion of President’s Trump Truth Social’s post.
It’s intriguing and no coincidence what happened recently is another Iran war hawk, Lebanon envoy Morgan Ortagus and a ‘slew’ of national security officials bit the dust – replaced in Trump White House.
Can Russia help and for what reasons? Iran has always doubled down that when hardliners who have always used a long-standing demand – the 0 enrichment pipe dream (which has remained). From George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Nikki Haley, Mike Pompeo, and John Bolton. Many of them understood that insisting on total Iranian capitulation was the quickest path to derailing diplomacy and laying the groundwork for war. Iran’s program advanced unchecked over time and diplomacy stalled. By the time the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) known commonly as the Iran nuclear deal was implemented; Iran had expanded its program to 19,000 centrifuges, amassed over 10,00o kg of low-enriched uranium. The last 20 years of persistent demands for 0 enrichment, has only resulted in a more advanced Iranian nuclear program by postponing realistic, enforceable limits on enrichment. Shutting down Iran’s 20,600 + centrifuges is not required for President Trump to achieve his stated goal of preventing an Iranian nuclear weapon.
Enrichment is the sticking point as US-Iran talks are cautiously ‘hopeful’ Forever looming though, is the lack of a wider Washington Middle East strategy. Iran will “exploit these different negotiating positions…as soon as the regime smells desperation.”
Witkoff, on Monday – April 14 2025, stated “Iran does not need to enrich [uranium] past 3.67 percent,” only to proclaimed on Tuesday that “Iran must…eliminate its nuclear enrichment and weaponization program.”
In one day, he went from a position that could offer the basis for a negotiated deal to echoing administration hawks, such as national security adviser Mike Waltz (insisted) that the total dismantling of Iran’s nuclear program is the only acceptable goal. Israel now talks about war soon with Iran.
What happened to the innovative solution we hear for bridging this deal-ending divide? It is not clear who first suggested it. Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi has said that the Omani mediators made proposals that removed obstacles. Other reports (namely the Guardian) credit Iran with the idea. Others say it was suggested by Oman and adopted by the United States.
The idea is that Iran joins Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in a nuclear enrichment consortium. In some versions, other regional partners are also included. Such a consortium could resolve the paradox created by the American demand that Iran give up its uranium enrichment and Iran’s insistence that it will never give up its uranium enrichment. Components of the enrichment process would be spread across countries with each sharing all but none fully possessing all. Iran could have its enriched uranium, but Iran could not fully enrich uranium.
Where is this all going? Where and how does Putin fit into being able to help?
President Trump has often spoke about how devastating the next world wide war would be because how utterly decimating the power of weapons in warfare these days will be for the whole world. I doubt he will let things escalate into war for a couple of important reasons and for his legacy for starting a war without being attacked first.
We pray and hope the PDJT would not allow himself to be pushed into this zero 0enrichment pipe dream, only because Iran has proven to double down.

The statement by Trump omits the fact that Trump changed the demands from no weapons grade enrichment to no nuclear program at all. Iran had already agreed to inspections and no weapons grade nuclear enrichment program. The issue is Israel vetoed the deal because they can’t abide Iran even having a nuclear program for peaceful purposes. Israel wants war and they want us to fight it. They are pulling out all the stops to get this war.
