Senior White House official Taylor Budowich, Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought, and James Braid discuss the details of President Trump’s Big, Beautiful Bill.
The legislation is described by Stephen Miller as the culmination of all President Trump’s campaign promises.
.

“Here are 50 MAJOR wins from Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill that the media is ignoring”….
If most of this stuff is in the bill, then the WH is not doing a very good job selling it.
——————————-
I think the golden Dome is a boondoggle. Unless we start understanding how to intercept and make hypersonic weapons, this is all just noise.
We can’t trust our current defense industry to make weapons that are suitable for modern warfare.
“I think the golden Dome is a boondoggle.”
It’s Strategic Defense Initiative (Star Wars) v2.0 and the stated cost projection is hilariously low. Because there are INTRACTABLE, FATAL flaws in intercepting long range ballistic missiles using other missiles (cheap countermeasures/decoys are far cheaper than more interceptor missiles), inbound missiles must be intercepted in their boost phase which means soon after launch and that requires a space based weapons system, ALL of the highly sophisticated components of which have NEVER been produced and tested.
“The estimated cost of the Golden Dome missile defense system is around $175 billion, with initial funding of $25 billion proposed to kick-start the project. The system is expected to be completed by the end of President Trump’s term in January 2029.”
Hilarious…
Just spit-balling an idea here.
We need to produce industrial size shotguns, and deploy them anywhere an enemy might deem as target-worthy…for defense against drone attacks.
You spit-ball well…
The Russians have a vehicle mounted system like that for intercepting these very small, short range drones but obviously didn’t expect an attack so deep inside their territory.
A European firm makes a special 12 gauge shotgun round for drones using titanium pellets for small unit use in the field. They claim a 100 yard range using a certain barrel choke setting, but 50 yards is more likely and that might put the user within the outer fragmentation range of the explosive on the drone. Just as an example:
AI: The fragmentation range of a typical hand grenade, like the M67, has a casualty radius of about 15 meters [16.4 yards] and a fatality radius of 5 meters [5.5 yards]. Fragments can potentially travel as far as 230 meters [251 yards] from the point of detonation.
However, stopping it at 50 yards is vastly preferable to not stopping it.
One Estonian company sells a highly sophisticated small drone for DIY arming or surveillance use:
https://www.krattworks.com/isr-ghostdragon
Sorry but it’s harder than hell to hit a drone with anything.
They’re better off trying to develop a CWIS type weapon like the navy developed after the kamikaze pilots destroyed a lot of ships in WW2.
Germans already made’em…Krupps has the blueprints….gotta X-late from Deutsch…
“The system is expected to be completed
by the end ofbefore President Trump’s term in January 2029.”You can sell what you know to make, or you sell what you think you can make – ‘we just need at little $ for R&D’ (and 5-10 years)..trust us…./so
Team Trump, and many others have literally been talking about it 24/7, including social media people like Charlie Kirk. The problem is that too many people see the word “spending” or “deficit” and they freak out, refusing to listen anymore past that. It doesn’t help that goons like Massie and Paul fan the flames of ignorance.
When I make comments on videos about this topic, any response to the information shared here is met with crap like “lol you just want to bury us in more debt!” or “trillions and trillions of more debt, shut up”. It’s almost like talking with liberals, it’s concerning.
Golden Dome does not need to be 100% perfect to be worthwhile. It only needs to be good enough to put doubt into the minds of the enemies who might try to send missiles against the US. If they know their missiles might not get through and know the US will retaliate with overwhelming force, they will be deterred.
Good list. BBB is not the best , but it is the best that can pass the morons who compose our congress. It needs to pass, not for any cost cutting , but for the boost to production and GDP. We have passed the point cost cutting fixes anything. Our Debt to GDP ratio shows that. The only solution lies in increasing the GDP side of the equation. We must keep the bond markets from imploding as that would take us down. Listen to recent Scott Bessent interviews.
Slightly different account on the white house web site
https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/06/50-wins-in-the-one-big-beautiful-bill/
Here are 50 reasons why President Donald J. Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill is the best chance in a generation to pass critical reforms for which Americans voted:
Thanks for the link and the list. In conjunction with the video discussion Sundance added, it really clarifies the situation.
INDEED, IT DOES!
It’s One Big Beautiful Clarification!
Everyone must realize there are not 53 Maga Senators and 220 Maga Republicans in the Senate and House. There are far more RINO’s in both houses, so attempting to get anything passed is a struggle at best. MAGA must contiue to pepper their House and Senate members to pass this bill. Is it perfect? Hell no, but we can’t wait for the perfect bill to arrive by some miracle. Pass it, primary as many RINO’s as possible and keep the momentum moving forward.
The bill has one section that is a big NO, it violates the 10th Amendment, which may be why it is there so the bill gets kicked to the curb by the courts:
Republicans in the House Energy and Commerce Committee quietly added in Section 43201, Subsection C.
The amendment reads as follows:
No state regulation of AI for 10 years.
It would seem to be a direct violation of the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which states that all powers “not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”
Also Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin is among the 40 attorneys general who sent a May 16 letter to House Republicans arguing against the feds being able to block the ability of states to regulate AI.
https://katv.com/news/local/arkansas-officials-oppose-federal-plan-to-stop-state-regulation-of-artificial-intelligence-scott-richardson-attorney-general-tim-griffin-big-beautiful-bill-moratorium-ai-regulation-technology-deepfake-openai-chatgpt-deepseek-energy-commerce-committee?
The last thing I want is for my state to try to regulate AI (or any technology).
What part of the bill does Musk object to? My objection is that all of this is in ONE bill rather than FIFTY bills.
If you had listened to the video then you would understand why ONE reconciliation bill is needed.
You must be a troll.
Most Americans are not going to see a double digit decrease in taxes compared to 2024 but rather taxpayers who do not itemize deductions will not see an increase versus what their taxes would jump to if the Trump tax cuts and specifically the standard deduction reverted back to 2017 levels.
7. Deporting 1 million illegal immigrants per year — no more catch and release. [entirely theoretical]
8. Builds the wall—finishes it — 701 miles of serious border protection. Massive!
9. 10,000 new ICE agents — law and order at the border. Huge!
“The new budget includes over $160 billion for immigration enforcement, with approximately $45 billion specifically allocated for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention operations. This represents a significant increase in funding for ICE compared to previous years.”
$160 billion is about 1/5th of the bloated DOD budget!
Frankly, I think that cost is insanely high.
$115 billion/18.6 million illegals not yet caught = $6,182 each.
$45 billion/200,000 detained + 184,889 tracked illegals = $76,937 each.
As I have pointed out several times, simply changing a few words in one paragraph of one US Code, that change being the sole responsibility of the POTUS as stated in that Code itself OR the simple enforcement of another long existing Code would solve the illegals problem in very short order by quickly IDing most all of them and by punishing with prison time those who hired, transported, or harbored/sheltered them.
However, to quickly remove many millions of illegals would seriously damage the US economy and because the pols don’t want that and the Chambers of Commerce don’t either, that route isn’t taken. Instead, they raid Home Depot parking lots (see below).
So, just like the judicial coup that could be almost totally nipped in the bud by simply ENFORCING an EXISTING rule and requirement, this is yet another FARCE.
National Immigration Center for Enforcement
@NICEnforcement
New NICE data reveals a stark reality—nearly 99% of the 18.6M illegal aliens in the U.S. continue to roam free, even 120 days into the Trump administration. Despite a 21% increase in ICE detainees. Only 1.26% are detained or tracked (49,005 in facilities, 184,899 enrolled in GPS monitoring). Even if Congress quadrupled ICE detention beds to 200k via reconciliation, it would only raise that to 2.1%.
Todd Lyons is doing all he can, but resource constraints are the core issue. Bafflingly, with WH approval, House Republicans chose to go $30B below the $110B ICE could have received—resulting in a 100k bed total.
When the money hits, WH/DHS must allow Todd and co. to go beyond criminal aliens—600k are roaming free—but the have a non-detained docket nearing 8M, and 1.4M final orders of removal. Final orders must be prioritized alongside criminals, setting a 2M mass deportation floor.
NICE Pres. RJ Hauman: ‘Congress is inching closer to a historic investment, but the bed total, tracking, and criminality prioritization won’t make a dent in a 18.6M population. We need a massive shift to deliver on a clear electoral mandate.’

Everyone should take a look at Charlie’s list. He took the time to succinctly show us what is in the BBB. What a patriot, MAGA man.
This is a huge win for codifying the MAGA agenda in a single bill —–read the 50 wins for MAGA in BBB
https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/2025/06/50-wins-in-the-one-big-beautiful-bill/
That is the point of all points! We spent years and months cheering for Trump’s campaign pledges. It’s all there in One Big Beautiful Bill. And the more you read and understand it, the more beautiful it gets.
Big and Beautiful Bill; and the biggest effect will be the end of CRs and getting a real budget; one sponsored by representatives instead of corporate lawyers. Defunding agencies and departments. A CR is due 9/2025?? A good shut down to take the time for a ‘real budget’ to emerge; free of waste, and over expenditure! The deficit will be history, the gold standard will have US back on firm ground and money in our pockets.
A Budget; constitutionally sound, easily understood by a seventh grader and really explained in school/civics. ‘Earning a living’ becoming a reality.
Following the Constitution the expenditures will be for Military and commerce. The raising of children will be back in parents hands.
God Help US
Economically sound, ‘family’ back in the frame, merit system in place once again, safe borders, legal elections, free individual lives, 2nd intact, Constitution in working order……..
<“the biggest effect will be the end of CRs
My reading is it’s basically a set of earmarks, but the normal appropriation process still is required so if appropriation bills are not passed by 30 Sep there will need to be a CR.
The BBB represents such an historic shift in power away from government back to the average American, that if the Deep State contrives to successfully steal the mid-terms, expect the Democrats to prioritize impeaching Trump for the third time.
This level of empowerment of the working class is to the Democrats as Jenny Craig is to Michael Moore, War and Peace (in Russian) to AOC, an AA meeting to Hunter Biden, a written copy of the Constitution to half the judges in this country! They will try to destroy the President, for the umpteenth time, for having the temerity of actually meaning all those promises he made.
I mean, what is this world coming to!
J
Put the Musk thing out of your mind and imagine where we would be at this moment if Kamala Harris was the 47th president instead of Donald Trump!
I take it back…it’s too gruesome to contemplate!
Trump will speak with Musk tomorrow. We’re in a good place!
It’s 3 am….
Ouch!!
The White House would be celebrating gay pride month and lit up at night with rainbow colors stolen from God! Veterans get a day gays get a month! Not having to see that or go through a whole month of gays celebrating their perverse behavior is reason enough to support President Trump! JMO
I can’t find the quote immediately but Mike Johnson said this BBB has been around for over 1 year.
Trump was not in office 1 year ago.
50 major things for Maga.. Sure but a multitude things not Maga. How does a Palantir Surveillance state help MAGA?
The Big Bill thing existed for over a year, maga sauce was sprinkled on it in January, and Trump backed it.
I still think everything campaign promised can be split in its own bill, and that there is no need to continue with the Joe Biden 6+ trillion dollar”Emergency but now structural” spending spree with a 2.5 trillion deficit and 1 trillion pentagon and Palantir surveillance state endorsement.
The thing is what, 400 or 500 pages? And at the end of the year we are all crying because the Democrats pushed a 1200 page omnibus Christmas megabill monstrosity. (That always gets passed because the poor congressmen want to go home and celebrate with their families… sad sad) And now all of a sudden big stupid 400 page pork bills are a good thing?
Trump should and could have led and structured a clean maga bill (and a plan to balance the budget!!) , and be more hands on rather than let congress run for 1 year. It’s not too late, just needs to stop tweeting about it and actually brow beat the people in congress that produced the atrocity. This is a time where he needs to lead.
Garbage post. If you split it into different bills, all but one would need 60 votes in the senate. Dead On Arrival.
All that other spending and stuff you are talking about is from the discretionary spending, which this bill legally can not deal with. This bill deals with the mandatory spending. Watch the video before commenting on it next time.
And this bill hasn’t existed for a year, Johnson has been working on it for 14 months because it takes forever to wrangle the votes of a slim majority.
The GARBAGE that you describe is the BIG BAD BILL.
Bob Mendez is right.
So is Musk.
This bill is filled with massive spending increases, and a massive amount of pork and dangerous ai technology, which is hidden among a bunch of minor MAGA subjects to try to get the BIG BAD BILL passed.
Again you are talking ‘budget’ not BBB; the budget is yet to come!!
You obviously didn’t listen to the above video/discussion. Get lost, ignorant
You obviously have never read this which describes THE primary and eventually financially fatal problems with government spending and how to fix them. How many of these reforms have been taken against the ACTUAL owners of “your” government:

…. well, what the sewage plant smells like over on Neyland the morning after a UT home game.
I’m talking about Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill” which, as is the pattern in DC over the last two decades plus, always has meant the exact opposite of whatever the bill is named.
Reality comment to that column by Denninger:
The basic problem has been observed over time – as people come to realize they can vote for policies that pay them, and they are either not informed of the fact that there is no such thing in reality because exponents say eventually the interest expense goes vertical if you do that beyond taxation, and if you tax people at a high enough rate to avoid that they stop earning at the threshold because there’s no point if you can’t keep any of it, then they will vote for exactly that.
At 50% + 1 vote you are screwed because the lack of comprehension that there is in fact no free lunch AND the fact that politicians will NOT vote themselves out of office means that once you get there the path forward is going to be EXTREMELY ugly.
Worse, the larger the inertial effect that nation has (and the US arguably has more of it than any other nation in history, except for perhaps during the Roman Empire) the longer it goes on and thus the more-serious the problem becomes before it blows up in your face. But it WILL blow up in your face.
What is the reality of what can get passed with 50+1 votes while still avoiding a massive tax increase and while correcting some of the damage done over the past 4 years particularly and the past 2+ decades?
I am including in the term “damages”: more concrete barriers to future invasion of illegals via the wall and personnel/equipment, deporting a huge number of the invaders which requires additional resources at this point of time, beefing up our beaten down national security protections (not including unconstitutional surveillance and negation of any of our rights), spurring economic growth and securing the economy.
PS I do think extraneous items such as the AI intrusion on state rights should be eliminated so that that/those topics can be fully explored and debated. There are probably more such poison pills scattered around the 1,000 pages.
So many lies.. The alligator emoji army has been unleashed. LOL. 🧟🐊
Far far better than you all have tried and failed to upend President Trump. He will not fail because God will neither be mocked nor denied.
Trump should and could have led and structured a clean maga bill (and a plan to balance the budget!!)
Perhaps you mean this Trump?
I would vote for that
You’re talking budget fixes not the BBB; the budget fixes will come 9/2025 with a ‘real budget’, not a CR; a CR keeps everything status quo; a constitutional backed budget will defund agencies and departments, gold standard to get US on terra firma and working along with the BBB it’s a win win situation for US.
Real money, real jobs, real schools, real groceries American grown, real medicine, real stock market, real responsibility, real borders………..and the reality of a sovereign wealthy country starts with Our Constitution being followed to a tee, legal elections, AND a budget.
Much easier to let un elected bureaucrats run the Country into the dirt than force the Judicial and Legislative branches to perform work for their paycheck. 4 day work weeks, endless months off, self-promotions and pay raises are incentives to ignore the people they are supposed to represent yet never will.
I spotted your sarcasm without /sarc. Just in case you meant it:
A budget would be drafted by Representatives, declared legal by the judiciary, and voted on by legislative/administrative getting the final word.
A budget can get rid of departments, personnel, committees, even foreign aid, financing other countries, AND mainly wars in other countries started by the CIA/UN/NATO/IC for profits to those branches of government. Graham and the like will never get to other countries on Our dime…..foreign travel should never be in Our Budget; they can use computers. We would get out of NATO/UN and defund the CIA/IC with a constitutional budget.
At the end of the day you have to convince enough people. You might be able to do some of that with threats, but probably not enough to ensure passage. There isn’t a MAGA majority in either house. You aren’t going to magically primary or defeat enough in 2026 to get there either.
The 10 year moratorium on state ai regulation in the bill is a concern.
Let the Feds roll out AI all over the place – 10 YEARS, your bank, your phone, your mail, McDonalds apps, anything you deal with in daily life can be AI’d….using YOUR money and taxes and federal credit card to do it to you…
Forget the McDonald’s apps….I worry about that “Gas Buddy” or “Upside” apps…after loyalty cards…
.
I so enjoy listening to Stephen Miller talk.
.
Endorse this – heard him on radio yesterday presenting the case. Essentially should convince anybody that the “BBB” is a must and time to stop the prevaricating.
Why does it cost a single dollar to pass a piece of legislation ?
Exhibit 1A
“Congress shall make NO law…”
There is NOTHING Constitutionally legal about ANY of this nonsense.
That’s how far removed from reality proponents of this thievery are.
To hell with the law {Constitution}…
“Revenue” for the Federal Government is Constitutionally defined as Our Public Monies {OPM}.
Thou shalt not covet OPM.
POTUS knows that one does not pay a contractor until the “job” is completed to satisfaction.
And yet POTUS, and others here, demand that We The People keep paying year after year after year for worse and worse results.
We The People have already paid over $36T for all these wars {poverty, drugs, terror}…
All these “issues’ have been paid for a hundred times over.
FedGov has already taken in over $3T in “revenue” this year {Jan-May 2025}…
3 Trillion dollars…
And “they” need more…
Or else !!!
Shut FedGov down.
DOGE is MAGA.
POTUS is not.
All three branches of the Federal Government are beholden to the mob {Federal Reserve Bank}.
Any American who voluntarily pays one red cent of their earnings to THIS Federal Government is a traitor to The United States Of America.
POTUS is of, by, and for the Government.
The Truth has no agenda.
POTUS has chosen to secure the Government {IC} “from” The People…
As OPPOSED to securing Our {We The People} unalienable
Rights.
There is absolutely no excuse for withholding ANY civilian {political} information {FOIA} from We The People.
Only military secrets are “classified” information.
Transparency my ass…
To FedGov…
GFY
Go Fund Yourself with tariffs.
There is no way on God’s Earth for economic growth {prosperity} with the United States monetary system held hostage to a corrupt criminal enterprise, the Federal Reserve Bank, extorting Our public Monies {OPM} by privatizing the gains {money changing}
and socializing the
losses {spending}.
Money produced in the private sector is called profit and is accretive to the value of the currency {USDollar}.
Money created by Government is called debt and is dilutive to the value of the currency.
Not rocket science.
This is We The People against the mob {Federal Reserve}…
And POTUS has sided with the mob…
Against We The People.
Personality does not factor in mathematics.
In God We Trust
{All others pay cash}
Trust God
Fear not
PS
Five minutes with Elon {or Vivek} and the criminal enterprise FedGov {Federal Reserve} is essentially “foreclosed” {RICO} on.
That’s the power of Almighty God.
“Lean not on your own understanding.”
God
The Big Beautiful Bill is not a ‘budget’…….it’s a bill to right some wrongs – constitutionally sound by the way. A wish list if you see what I mean.
The ‘ real budget’ is yet to come; this is a wish list to be taken care of first. A lot of Our wishes on this BBB.
The ‘budget’ not a CR will close departments, eliminate waste, maximize efficiency, and the ‘government ‘will be a lean mean constitutional machine using the gold standard as Our footing; not the FED, but true capitalism, real stock markets, supply and demand, money in pockets economy, thriving opportunities for employment.
It all starts with a budget……..following the Constitution every step of the way. Ya know how many sheets of paper can be shredded; it’ll fuel blast furnaces!
The BBB is a “budget reconciliation”; within the methodology Congress uses and as passed in H. Con. Res 14 last 10 April.
“SECTION 1. Concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025.
(a) Declaration.—Congress declares that this resolution is the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025 and that this resolution sets forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034….”
As a separate action, the White House OMB submitted its FY2026 “discretionary budget” to Congress on 2 May. It is this “budget”, exclusive of the BBB that the Congressional appropriators will debate. If they fail to pass appropriation bills by 30 Sep (“No money shall be drawn from the treasury, but in consequence of appropriations made by law;”) there will be a need for a CR/”shutdown”. This is without regard to what happens with the BBB.
A ‘budget reconciliation’ is not a Budget; neither is a CR a budget: they just keep the government ticking financially to obligations made by ‘history’ of money spending to continue. A formal budget would have to balance the books; recognize waste, get rid of glut, and make wise decisions allowed by Our Constitution; a country in the red can’t survive; it has to surrender to debt at some point.
Understand how getting US in debt make US vulnerable to graft and corruption, but mainly becoming a ‘New Kind’ of Government; communism comes to mind, NWO too!!
There is no ‘balance sheet’ in a budget reconciliation not CR; they actually allocate for spending money We don’t even have!!
SETTING Budgetary Levels; IS NOT a budget.
“There absolutely has to be a CR shutdown; this is without regard to what happen with the BBB;”….. YOU are 100% accurate on that statement.
This is all you need to hear, then you realize it IS all about Elons EV mandate.
Commies going to commie
Math that increases debt and spending is not the math I think the country should be using.
Please specify, and please show your math, how this bill increases debt. Please also be sure to include the determined variable of tariff revenue into your equation.
Or, bug off with your bs declarations.
Thanks.
“Or, bug off with your bs declarations.” – Is this really necessary?
Yes
Unfortunate. I defy tyrants no matter where they are.
I did say please and thank you.
Please ‘bug off’ with your BS. Thank you. /s
Or, we could just acknowledge that people have different opinions. When I see more information, my opinion about something can change in a day.
Ad Hominem attack seems to be a strong suit around here.
Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller explain the inconsistencies and convolution of CBO figures starting at 9:50 in the video.
I understand your point and agree with you, but the bad math is coming from CBO. It took me a while to see this.
Yes, Stephen explained that in the video.
You need to watch the video again. Stephen Miller explained the math the CBO is using to score the bill. It’s nutty.
This is a case where “math” is being misused by government weenies. Critical thinking requires that you don’t just say “they used math” but that you evaluate how they applied it.
When Congress created the current budget system, they mandated the “math” that CBO has to use and the 10-year costing timeline. We have long had the argument about “static” vs “dynamic” scoring, and it’s more about how bills are sold to the public than actual dollars and cents.
Stephen Miller: Lazer Blade. 🤜✝️🤛
overall, a good synopsis of how things work with reconciliation and rescission bills.
They did totally side-step the no tax on Social Insecurity; that part was tweaked somewhere by someone, and it’s putting a little egg on their faces. The Senate, if they were smart (I know…wishful thinking), would tweak it back to a real “no tax on Social Insecurity.”
🤷♂️
https://traditioninaction.org/HotTopics/R005_Mus.htm
I love when Miller said it’s sad when said tax cuts are considered bad for the economy.
Stephen points out the idiocy of Rand…
This talk is very good and explained things I didn’t understand.
Dislike Kirk but some good clarity on the Bill by Stephen.
Patriot Act 2.0 with much better software and yes $40T debt. Let’s celebrate. Palantir for everyone.
The 50 “beneficial” items in Freedom Rings comment look great but no matter how much one wants to trust the President what else is hidden in the Bill, about to be signed into LAW??
The “Good”, the “Bad” and the “Ugly” need to be stated up front and clearly, so President Trump’s supporters know what is coming. Hopium and trust the plan no longer works. I can live with some sort of “spiral improvement process to the FEDERAL spending process” as long as I know the WHOLE Story.
A few items not mentioned …. forget the dollars of the DOGE identified reductions and waste:
The discussion of the differences and limits between “discretionary” and “required” spending is total BS as long as Congress leaves open ended “Reprogramming Authority” in their spending Bills and the President signs this AUTHORITY into LAW … which allows recipients of the Federal Spending Authority in the BILL (Law) to DIVERT Funds as the recipient sees fit.
What about the status of ALL the dead budget lines found by DOGE. Are those still alive …. and …. were they funded and are they still available to receive reprogrammed Money??
These last two nearly make any other reform useless if not fixed.
By the way, open ended Reprogramming Authority allows money to be DIVERTED away from even some of the “50 Beneficial Items” depending upon the political motives of the recipient.
As a retiree: is the Federal Government (Executive and Congress) still allowed to BORROW massive amounts of money from the Social Security and Medicare funds??
[Since the Social Security and MEDICARE BENEFIT funds have to be “handled separately”, I await the discussion to stop the modification of these funds to be used as welfare programs.]
Without a legally binding ‘Budget’ voted into law they can use CRs, Reprograming Authority , diversion of any available funds – SS, Medicare included – budget reconciliation, AND every maneuver to carry a gigantic deficit.
They can control money they don’t have, spend willy nilly, have travel junkets, glorious vacations, very little work, jet travel, even meals without a legally binding Budget!!
Why do you think Congress hasn’t written nor passed a ‘balanced budget’ for decades??
Seems a lot of people are misunderstanding that Trump’s bill is a reconciliation bill…not an appropriations bill. It’s not appropriating new funding…it’s adjusting where current funding goes by modifying laws and tax policy…it can’t touch discretionary spending.
But it can modify AUTHORITY within the BILLS and Laws of both types of spending.
It can remove dead budget lines.
It can curtail use of Government benefit Funds as sources of money “to be borrowed”.
The President’s Team can discuss how they plan to some sort or incremental or spiral process to improve the process of authorizing FEDERAL spending.
Don’t bore me with limits or “what I don’t understand”. There is still too much left unsaid to take the leap off the cliff into trust the plan. Just explain it, even in bullet point form of some sort.
I didn’t reply to you and wasn’t speaking to you specifically.
My explanation to you is this: President Trump is trying to save the country. I voted for him because I think if anyone can do it, it’s President Trump. I support the bill because this is what President Trump wants. It is a distillation of what he wants and what he had to include to get it passed.
I’m generally not a backseat driver. If I don’t like something, j say “I’ll do it.” I hope we are in agreement that you and I couldn’t possibly do what President Trump is doing.
So, support your man in the arena. Pray he can pull it off in the most convoluted and dangerous snake pit imaginable.
I beg to differ with you:
“”SEC. 20002. ENHANCEMENT OF DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE RESOURCES FOR
SHIPBUILDING.
In addition to amounts otherwise available, there are appropriated
to the Secretary of Defense for fiscal year 2025, out of any money in
the Treasury not otherwise appropriated, to remain available until
September 30, 2029–”
So yes, I agree that appropriation bills must be passed but BBB contains a number of what could be called “earmarks”.
I stand corrected.
Some suggest:
The importance of the Big Beautiful Bill is that it continues the grotesque US government overspending to continue growing the sovereign debt.
The growing debt is one of the main tectonics of the Plan to manage the decline of the US as the China-led axis rises.
The Plan shall execute. Nothing will stop the Plan.
Trump is fully on-board with the Plan, this is evidenced by him pushing the Big Beautiful Bill and several other things.
Regardless of what “some suggest”, there’s probably 25 votes in the House and if lucky 7 in the Senate for debt reduction.
What will be a “Digusting Abomination” will be if the tax cuts are not extended. This is about 80% of the cost of BBB according to CBO.
Elon is have trouble figuring this out, what with the ketamine hangover and all. The effect of tax increases, if not passed will be catastrophic.
Like Stephen and Taylor point out the CBO does use dynamic scoring. So, it won’t cost as much as Elon hallucinates .
The part of the strategy that has to be sold to the public is a viable plan to get spending levels back to the “adjusted” baseline that existed before the pandemic. If there are arcane congressional rules that prevent that from being included in a reconciliation bill, then that should be clearly articulated, along with the playbook to get the spending cuts formally included in the budget. If we don’t drastically cut the annual $2 trillion deficits, we will break the bank.
A little math
1) Every $2 trillion deficit adds $80-100 billion to the annual deficit through increased interest payments.
2) Annual interest expense is already close to $1.2 trillion, or 20% of federal spending.
3) With $38 trillion in debt, a 1% rise in interest rates on that debt would increase the annual deficit another $380 billion
If we don’t do something to reduce spending, we will be past the point of no return in a debt-interest death spiral. Given all the waste, fraud, abuse and basic pork in the budget, and absence of any demonstrable institutional oversight on where we spend money, with a proper implementation of DOGE-like concepts in budgeting and process controls, cutting a trillion or more out of the deficit is a very viable goal, IF WE AND CONGRESS HAD THE WILL TO DO IT.
The question is, why does the U.S. government issue bonds? Supposedly, there are several reasons claimed, but they are all bogus:
To finance its operations and cover budget deficits.
To raise capital for public projects and infrastructure.
To manage monetary policy and interest rates.
To provide a safe investment option for individuals and institutions.
The sovereign U.S. government can print, that is, spend all the money it wants without selling bonds and paying interest. It does not need money to cover the budget deficit or raise capital or provide investment options for anyone. The government is a creator of money; it is not a necessary borrower of money. So, why does it sell bonds, i.e., sell debt?
It sells bonds in order to transfer our, the taxpayers’, money to investors by way of interest. Interest is paid exponentially, and thereby, a contributor to the money supply. It creates inflation always by its very nature.
The public does not know this, and the elite who run government and the media will not tell them this. The rich keep getting richer, and the worker falls farther behind, as they are parasitically ripped off and bled of their wealth. It never changes.
I’m not sure the government can violate the laws of double entry accounting. If it could print money without issuing debt, someone has to receive the money. I am curious how the process of just printing it would work. Are you saying they can print the money and pay for everything on the expense side of the budget? While I believe that the federal reserve system fractional reserve construct is a means of enriching the member banks, I don’t see how there could be an accounting process whereby the government just prints money. It would be great if they could – then we could completely eliminate the income tax.
‘If we don’t do something to reduce spending, we will be past the point of no return in a debt-interest death spiral. ‘
Correction:
We are already past the point of no return.
And according to some, this is all by design, nudged along by veiled powers who saw decades ago that the US decline was unstoppable and decided to steer it instead.
Toward an end state preserving their position.
Who might those powers be? Cui Bono.
When did they start steering it? Before 9/11, which now appears to be a pivot they executed to start the surveillance state among other things.

Well, its easy to see why Musk is in such an uproar concerning the BBB. It calls for foreigners coming to our country to pay more. With a company mostly hiring those people, it would hurt the pockets. Way to go President Trump.
This discussion was so well worth listening to. I see that it was posted on the White House site which means that I should be able to locate it again.
Now I understand even more what losers Massie and Rand are.
Losers for sure; if they don’t know the difference in reconciliation & appropriation bills, they have NO BUSINESS representing ANY Americans
‘Losers for sure; if they don’t know the difference in reconciliation & appropriation bills, they have NO BUSINESS representing ANY Americans’
No doubt they know how it all works far better than you or I – they’ve been immersed in it for years.
All of it continues to grow the gargantuan debt by stupendous amounts, in an accelerating interest feedback loop now.
Trump supports continuing to grow the debt by stupendous amounts.
The growing debt is part is the mechanisms sinking the post-industrial US.
Don’t get entangled in the complications. Don’t let the 50 Reasons take your eye off the ball. Keep it simple. K.I.S.S. They are sinking the US with accelerating debt, and Trump is goading them on to do this.
Dear Sundance, I know that you’re a really busy man.
Ive been on this website for quite along time and you’ve opened so many of our eyes to so many things in government.
Thank you for all you do, but can you please please please write an article about this big beautiful bill?
I know you read the comments here and as you can see so many people are arguing over this thing.
Can you just maybe give a quick summery of this?
Is this a budget bill?
I see so many people complaining about this thing.
I myself don’t mind some of the spending in it, I like the tax cuts.
Those will really help me and my family.
Thank you sir.
Hope to hear from you.
It’s a reconciliation bill…not an appropriations bill.

Why does the military need $1 trillion ? Why? Why is no one asking this very basic question?
It’s not in the bill.
Title II of the bill is all new FY25 money for DoD.
Yes but it’s not a trillion flowing through this bill. People are speculating what the appropriation will be in discretionary spending and adding the figures. Trump wants the addition for ship building is what I read.
If its there, its because Biden depleted our military to a dangerous low and President Trump knows just how vulnerable we truly are to the likes of China.
‘…Biden depleted our military to a dangerous low and President Trump knows just how vulnerable we truly are to the likes of China.’
Ah, someone has been observing the military depletion, but perhaps missed that Trump too is depleting it.
Part of the Plan is depleting the military while positioning for major war, according to some.
And now, DOGE-driven cuts as implemented in the DoD civilian workforce by DRPs and other early retirement incentives are causing a major brain drain and leadership decimation, further subverting the military, according to public sources.
Do you think Trump is unaware of all this?
‘Why does the military need $1 trillion ? Why? Why is no one asking this very basic question?’
What is that, about 3-4% of GDP?
That would make it less than 1/5 the spending on “healthcare” (20% of GDP).
The very basic question is “what is the national security strategy of the United States” and from that “what is the national defense strategy to implement that and in turn what is the defense capability required”.
Different strategies imply different defense requirements and resources.
This would be a great opportunity to see just what Musk is made out of. Is he humble enough to admit he was wrong, that he did not realize the bill going through the Senate is not capable to do what he wants done? And, just maybe, his courage will convince the senators like Ron Johnson to do the same and get out of the lime-light and vote for this bill. The senate Republicans have had 40 or 50 years to stop increasing the spending every year they can wait until the next budget is enacted.
That was so informative and clarifying.
Is there any chance that a Democrat would vote for this bill, with all the good and very important things for the country?
They are right and people should listen. Pres. Trump has the mandate and has a plan that he has demonstrated to have worked. So there is no room for argument – least of all from politicians who have accomplished nothing on their own and have no plan of their own, or some billionaires who are drug-addled and not paying attention.
Didn’t he promise to reduce Spending the way 80,000,000 voters wanted? There can be zero reasons “Good for America” to increase the Debt ceiling!
Something nefarious is afoot! Perhaps the Donald is too stupid to see it! Or maybe, they pay Miller extra to lie like that?
