The Dept of Homeland Security has revoked the Student and Exchange Visitor Program certification for Harvard University, thereby essentially cancelling their ability to enroll foreign students into the school. Harvard was notified of the status and the letter shared by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem.
The notification comes the day after Yaron Lischinsky, an Israeli citizen, and Sarah Milgrim, an American woman (a young couple about to be engaged), were gunned down at the Capital Jewish Museum around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday. The suspect Elias Rodriguez, 31 of Chicago, repeatedly yelled, “Free Palestine” when he was arrested.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students in its escalating battle with the Ivy League school, saying thousands of current students must transfer to other schools or leave the country.
The Department of Homeland Security announced the action Thursday, saying Harvard has created an unsafe campus environment by allowing “anti-American, pro-terrorist agitators” to assault Jewish students on campus. It also accused Harvard of coordinating with the Chinese communist party, saying it hosted and trained members of a Chinese paramilitary group as recently as 2024.
“This means Harvard can no longer enroll foreign students and existing foreign students must transfer or lose their legal status,” the agency said in a statement.
Harvard enrolls almost 6,800 foreign students at its campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts, accounting for more than a quarter of its student body. Most are graduate students, coming from more than 100 countries.
Harvard called the action unlawful and said it’s quickly working to provide guidance to students.
“This retaliatory action threatens serious harm to the Harvard community and our country, and undermines Harvard’s academic and research mission,” the university said in a statement. (read more)

The directive by DHS had been weeks in the making, not just due to the cowardly double murder by Rodriguez. Noem had pointed out the infiltration by CCP. Don’t you remember the very embarrassing arrest and conviction of preeminent head of Harvard’s Biological Chemistry Dept., Prof. Charles Lieber for secretly working for and lying about his Chinese research projects and his monetary rewards? The last news I have about him was that he was allowed to go to China(!!!)to seek employment at any Chinese university that wanted him. He was the biggest catch in Trump’s big effort to clamp down the roots of massive unabated Chinese intellectual property theft from US colleges during his first administration. Biden cancelled the successful project as 117 professors from Stanford wrote open letter falsely claiming Trump’s effort was raaaaycist. The only foreign students that should be allowed at Harvard are Canadians to bolster their hockey teams.
UC San Diego does the same thing by accepting Chinese (CCP) students by the boatload as they pay full tuition (from the Chinese government). This reared it’s ugly head a few years back when the faculty selected the Dalai Lama to be the main honorand and speaker at graduation; a big continent of these Chinese students held open and aggressive protests!
This doesn’t surprise me at all. Last June, I attended my granddaughter’s graduation at UC San Diego. The keynote speaker was Al “Unhinged” Gore. He started out calmly but then escalated as he went on and on about climate change.
I felt sorry for the graduates. It was their day for celebration.
