Earlier today President Trump held a 2-hour phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The objective of President Trump is clear; however, he is battling against recent history and the domestic political environment within Washington DC.
President Trump provides a summary via Truth Social: “Just completed my two-hour call with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. I believe it went very well. Russia and Ukraine will immediately start negotiations toward a Ceasefire and, more importantly, an END to the War. The conditions for that will be negotiated between the two parties, as it can only be, because they know details of a negotiation that nobody else would be aware of.
The tone and spirit of the conversation were excellent. If it wasn’t, I would say so now, rather than later. Russia wants to do largescale TRADE with the United States when this catastrophic “bloodbath” is over, and I agree. There is a tremendous opportunity for Russia to create massive amounts of jobs and wealth. Its potential is UNLIMITED. Likewise, Ukraine can be a great beneficiary on Trade, in the process of rebuilding its Country. Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine will begin immediately.
I have so informed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, of Ukraine, Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, President Emmanuel Macron, of France, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, of Italy, Chancellor Friedrich Merz, of Germany, and President Alexander Stubb, of Finland, during a call with me, immediately after the call with President Putin. There is tremendous opportunity within a strategic U.S-Russia relationship, both economically and for the stability of the world as a whole. It is clear from his statements both today and previously, that President Trump sees this opportunity with clear eyes.
Unfortunately, there is less consistency within American politics than is needed for a strategic reset. Indeed, from Vladimir Putin’s perspective how long would a good relationship hold up given the pendulum swings within USA politics. A strategic partnership today could easily become a vulnerability tomorrow if the administration changes. This is a complicated dynamic to navigate.
Global corporatists and their aligned intelligence apparatus both here and abroad do not want President Trump to have a strategic relationship with Vladimir Putin. Global stability is against their interests.
Russia in general appreciates brutal honesty and it is apparent from the communication out of Moscow that leadership within the Russian Federation respect and appreciate President Trump. But President Trump will not be around after the next four years and things can change quickly.
Can Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump organize a strategic change in the dynamic? That’s the $60k question.

These European leaders have done nothing for three years but kept pouring gasoline on the flames of the war by their supply of weapons and intel. From what I can tell from some outlets, Lindsey Graham and his 71 Senate cohorts are in control of our Government’s foreign policy. They just may have too many millions of dollars to personally lose in the advent of peace and IMO will not allow it. It would be good to know.
I say this because whenever the Ukraine situation looks be close to resolution there is a flurry of activity from Graham and others to prevent it. They are making this country look weak.
Graham and his close proximity to President Trump is becoming a serious issue. The power plays by Lindsey and his Senate cohorts with regard to foreign policy is quite dangerous. A serious look at where the money we send to Ukraine goes is essential and should begin immediately. I suspect it will answer many questions about the resistance to a peaceful solution.
I think President Trump is well aware of the nature of Graham and the others, and is very familiar with the adage, “keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
This is where Trump could show he means business. As we used to say back in the day: “He should stand tall in the weeds”.
An important question: could Europe, in addition to the US, benefit from a friendly business relationship with Russia, putting aside the sabre-rattling?
Any business relationship would have to be more profitable than the current war/munitions business that the current adversarial relations provides. Tall order. We have been here before with the relationship between Reagan and Gorbachev. Money through trade does amazing things to keep these people occupied and busy– which would then mean they’d stop focusing so much on their war.
When the money starts rolling in, they’ll be very motivated to keep that coming and therefore, not so busy pissing eachother off to the degree that it’s led to this war.
I see that trade talk by Trump as him dangling a carrot in front of them both to get them to snap outta their current frame of minds and begin to look forward into what a great future they both could be creating for their people.

If you think about it, it’s been a pattern with Trump throughout his life- the man loves to make money and he sure is good at it- he’d rather make peace and money than war.
But you can’t make money, re-build, heal and move forward unless you let the past go and look towards the future- is what Trump is trying to make all these nations at war see- this is how I’m seeing what he’s up too.

The resumption of dialogue between the Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Turkey is a sign that the countries are on the “right track” towards peace in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Monday.
“Negotiations between the sides in the Istanbul meeting have resumed, suggesting that, in general, we are on the right track,” Putin told journalists following a telephone call with US President Donald Trump on May 19.
Putin added that Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov and Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov would later report on the details of Monday’s telephone conversation between the two leaders.

I will be candid. There was a time when Benito Mussolini confidently called himself, “El Ducé.” Indeed, he was “The Leader,” until suddenly he wasn’t.
I confidently predict that “Z” will not be much longer for this world. History very simply teaches me to expect this now. (Otherwise, I will not speculate at all.) Folks in his position do not need to purchase “retirement accounts.” 🤷♂️
And, once he has been properly and forever removed from the scene (and, only until he is …), the underlying dynamics of the situation will be much more exposed. And, perhaps, only then will they begin to heal.
Zelenski will not be assassinated any time soon. Engaging that possibilty is, IMO, wishful thinking which doesn’t account for the realities in Europe and the UK.
The EU/UK hates Russia and Putin. That hate is long standing and runs very deep. There is nothing in them which seeks an end to the bloodshed of the war. Ever notice they seldom, if ever, talk about ending the bloodshed? Trump does, they don’t. The current EU/UK bunch, like their fore fathers, are determined to force Russia to its knees, making it a servant of Europe. Zelenski is an essential part of that dream. Hence, he’ll live on.
So, when Trump says he wants to end the bloodshed, and I think he’s serious, the only ear listening is Putin. It’s not the EU/UK people and it’s not Zelenski.
Trump knows all this. At least that’s what I believe. My view is Trump is inclined to get out of Ukraine and join hands with Putin and Russia. But, going against the EU/UK/Ukraine people amounts to ending a relationship with people the US has been friends with forever.
How is that going to sit with the Washington Beltway crowd? Think about guys like Lindsey Graham and Chuck Schumer who love Zelinski and walk in step with the EU/UK. Think they’ll go along with the US pulling out of Ukraine?
Lots of moving parts to this. It’s going to be interesting to see how it plays out- over the next 2 or 3 years.
Ukraine has its own Nationalist Extremist movement that goes way way back.
They are not in lock step with Europe, and while Europe may shrug at the losses there, the modern leaders of that movement are very unlikely to forgive the man who led them into it and achieved only destruction.

Trump is continuing to change the post-World War II dynamic around the world. He smashed the WTO with his tariff policies, and he is surrounding Iran militarily while negotiating with them. Iran is weaker than it has been in a long time. People assume what is going to happen based upon the old order since World War II, but the consequences based upon the old order aren’t happening, leaving a lot of elites off balance and complaining that Trump brings “chaos.”
But Trump knows exactly what he is doing and why. In the Middle East he is pulling Qatar away from Iran. He is giving Israel wide latitude to win a defensive war against Hamas. He is upending NATO’s efforts to paint Putin as a monster, and withdrawing support for permanent war in Ukraine as a proxy war between US and Russia. All the planning and efforts of the Victoria Nuland and the neocons in Ukraine since 2014 is in ruins.
It’s in Trump’s hands now, and he is establishing a new way of thinking about the world, an effort to end permanent conflicts and permanent wars which will harm the business model of a lot of elites. While the people of the world will celebrate peace, The elite ghouls are not happy.
Having stunning republican gains in upcoming midterms due to having made elections actually free and fair, would go a long way toward reassuring russia that they can have a longer term good relationship with the USA.
Some other major challenges are the deficit spending leading to massive debt and the illegal immigrant invasion. Sometimes I think that finding and prosecuting and preventing election fraud, may be the single most important thing for this administration to do. If election fraud is fixed, then there may be time to handle other things. If election fraud is not fixed, then even if other things are addressed, all the gains may be lost.
