Fatal Overdoses in U.S. Fall to Prepandemic Levels
The number of people who died of drug overdoses in the U.S. dropped dramatically in 2024, a promising sign amid a national fentanyl crisis that has fueled a surge in drug-related deaths in recent years.
Drug-overdose deaths dropped by 27% to around 80,000 deaths in 2024 from about 110,000 in 2023, according to preliminary data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday. The deaths reported last year fell closer to levels not seen since before the Covid-19 pandemic, which exacerbated the country’s drug-overdose crisis and led to a surge in deaths.
Yearly declines in new overdose deaths are rare and tend to be small, making 2024’s drop unprecedented in its scope. This is also only the fourth year in more than three decades in which the U.S. reported fewer drug fatalities, but also the second in a row after a modest reduction in 2023.

SCOTUS ALERT“Birthright Citizenship”

Tomorrow, May 15, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear oral arguments on behalf of and against Trump’s Executive Order, which claims to “protect the true meaning of birthright citizenship” and deny such to those who have claimed automatic legal citizenship in the USA strictly on the basis of being born on American soil.
“Section 1. Purpose. The privilege of United States citizenship is a priceless and profound gift. The Fourteenth Amendment states: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” That provision rightly repudiated the Supreme Court of the United States’s shameful decision in Dred Scott v. Sandford, 60 U.S. (19 How.) 393 (1857), which misinterpreted the Constitution as permanently excluding people of African descent from eligibility for United States citizenship solely based on their race.” the issue at hand is “the constitutional guarantee that virtually all individuals born on US soil automatically become citizens.”
This alleged “constitutional guarantee” is based solely upon past court misinterpretation, misrepresentations, and misapplication of this section found in the 14th Amendment, “Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.”
The intentional misuse of this language resulted in literally millions of “new birthright citizens” born to foreign citizens in the USA “illegally,” which then were used as “anchor babies” through whom the illegal alien parents could claim a right to legal U.S. citizenship as well, as illegal foreign parents of a so-called “birthright citizen” baby.
This is exactly why foreign citizens travel to a U.S. border from around the globe to give birth to a baby on American soil as a means of bypassing and subverting our Federal Immigration and Naturalization Laws. This was caused by “the courts!” In order for the courts to misrepresent, misuse and abuse this language from the 14th to pursue an anti-American agenda, the courts had to ignore a few critical facts concerning the 14th Amendment.
1. The 14th is one of three “reconstruction” amendments dealing strictly with the families of former slaves. The 13th abolished slavery in the USA but failed to make former slave families citizens. So, the 14th was adopted to afford members of former slave families at that time, legal citizenship in the USA. Following 13 and 14, the 15th Amendment was adopted to grant former slaves voting rights in the USA.
So, ALL three amendments must be read in the context of the purpose and intent as it related to “former slave families” at that time, not separated from each other, or taken out of proper context in order to pursue some modern political agenda.
2. The U.S. Supreme Court denied former slave families citizenship and voting rights in the infamous Dred Scott case, even after the slaves were freed via the 13th. The court further denied former slaves voting rights even after the passage of the 13th and 14th, making it necessary to adopt the 15th.
Just to be clear, when we talk about the current Supreme Court, with only two constitutional conservatives there, Thomas and Alito, we are talking about the same court that also found a right to gay marriage in the 14th Amendment, which of course has nothing whatsoever to do with marriage or gay rights.
True Birthright Citizenship
This type of citizenship is not derived from governments, lawmakers, constitutional text, any Amendments or court opinions. All “birthrights” are “inherited at birth from the natural birth Father.” End of story!
In truth, the terms “Birthright Citizenship,” “True Citizen,” and Natural Born Citizen” are synonymous terms. They hold the same meaning, and are derived from the same source, The Laws of Nature.
These Rights are “endowed by our Creator,” not created by or subject to government whims.
The reason lawyers and judges have so convoluted these terms is…they do so with a specific anti-American agenda in mind.
The odds of today’s left-leaning Supreme Court getting this right are slim at best.
If they get it wrong, they will have permanently eliminated all true natural birthrights for every true American citizen, now and for the future.
It doesn’t get any more serious than this!

Those terms ARE NOT synonymous!
Per our Constitution, citizenship is garnered via two distinct methods.
Yes, one method is to be a natural born citizen which means born on U.S. soil to a citizen mother and a citizen father. There is no ‘official’ or ‘legal’ definition of this because . . .
The second method of inuring citizenship is granted to Congress whom are charged with establishing a uniform rule of naturalization.
Naturalization is defined as conferring citizenship.
Thus, one becomes a citizen by being naturally born as a citizen, or one becomes a citizen due to some act of Congress identifying one as a citizen.
Foreigners who wish to become citizens may petition to go through the process (instituted by Congress) to become naturalized.
However, what is confusing to many, is that any law Congress has passed allowing others other than natural born citizens to ‘be’ citizens, is also an act of naturalization.
And Congress HAS PASSED naturalization laws which bestow birthright citizenship to people born in the U.S. whose parents may have not both been citizens (ref. The Naturalization Act of 1790, 1795).
Hence, birthright citizenship, as a set, includes those citizens whom gained citizenship via being naturalized by Congressional acts, AND THE CLOSED SUBSET of natural born citizens.
‘Birthright citizenship’ is therefore NOT synonymous with natural born citizenship.
This other term, ‘true citizen’, is not anything I have ever heard.
But, for arguments sake, if anyone claims that citizenship via a Congressional act is not a ‘true’ citizen, then the logic behind that seems to be that Congress is not a true Constitutional body, and thereby anything they do is false . . .
After listening to Sen. Ron Johnson on Warroom this morning I am left with this: Due process for criminal, illegal aliens but no due process (diligence) for the budget of this country. That’s how effed-up we are.

They’ve been having soft walkouts for the last couple of weeks. Newark is just a mess.
Because of construction, the airport has been reduced to a single runway at times. Hours of delays for passengers. Delta claims they are reducing flights there because of demand reduction, but really because it’s turning into a hassle for airlines to fly out of there and keep schedules.
On top of that, the FAA radar systems at PHL have been wonky (years of spending without improvements); just saw that their floppy disk based mainframes keep crapping out. So Trump Budget Cut Complaints are incoming I’m sure as the NYT root cause…

Lawyers for Judge Dugan – the one that helped a wanted illegal alien evade ICE are claiming she has unlimited immunity in the court room. Yet the court says that the president’s immunity is limited to legal acts, so Dugan has more power than the president. Just another example of how corrupt the courts have become.
Yes, the Supreme Court has basically ruled that judges can do anything, even criminal acts IN “their” courtroom. Her lawyers add that her immunity extends to the “courthouse generally.” They include that phrase because Dugan’s acts were outside “her” courtroom, which prior cases have said her super powers of immunity no longer exist.
“Even if (contrary to what the trial evidence would show) Judge Dugan took the actions the complaint alleges, these plainly were judicial acts for which she has absolute immunity from criminal prosecution. Judges are empowered to maintain control over their courtrooms specifically and the courthouse generally,” the court filing read.

The SCROTUS is a disaster. Chief DH Roberts is the reason. Just can’t help wondering why Alito and Thomas remain so quiet. Sotomayor, Jackson and Roberts can’t keep their mouths shut.
Roberts has made public comments three times now that show his bias against President Trump. And Sotomayor has, IMO, revealed her bigotry in her own words. She has made it plain that she thinks immigrants of color are superior to white culture that needs to be remedied. The latest was when she referred to needing to win the battles – against what? Yes, Roberts has disgraced the court yet blames President Trump for its loss of credibility.

So many of us have had experience with a spouse or family members who have or had alzheimer’s. We recognized the signs. There was probably plenty more to see behind the scenes but those around him hid those things.
Yes. I was the POA for my friend with Alzheimer’s and saw the signs during the 2020 election campaign- it was plain to see once you’ve seen it up close.

Many years ago, when my husband and I were in the process of trying to sell our house and buy a larger one, we went with a “Christian” realtor that a friend had recommended to us, although he was hard to reach, as he seemed to be on the golf course most days, rather than in his office.
But he called us, all excited, one evening and said that he had a lead on a house that would be perfect for us – we had said that we were looking for something that was at least 2000 sq ft, in a certain area, and we had a pretty tight budget. He said this house was in our price range, in a great neighborhood, and was 1972 sq ft. We jumped on it and put a full price offer in that night…well, lo and behold, after we got the inspection done, we were told that it was actually only 1729 sq ft, which meant that we had overpaid by at least $10-15K, AND it wasn’t any bigger than the house we were selling. When we confronted him, he basically said “tough luck – the papers are signed”!
Long story short, by the grace of God, we we able to get out of the deal (NO thanks to him) and got all of our earnest money back. A few months later, we found a great house, being sold by a realtor who was clearly NOT a Christian, but was well known in the business for getting great deals for his clients. We went with him, sold our house for top dollar, and got into a better house at a better price!
Sadly, that story has been repeated time after time throughout my life – if anyone has to “parade” their faith (Like Polly Pockets Johnson does at EVERY opportunity – just like Judas Pence) then I immediately know they are corrupt, compromised, AND totally useless!

Lowes, over the internet com, Spanish, no English. Two years ago, had a delivery by Lowe’s, twice. Each time one delivery person spoke English, the other did not. The English speaking one actually bragged they were “illegal.” That they were related to a local politician in another state. This is just a small part of the problem we face. Far too many unknowns, trained, waiting.
