The largest NATO base is currently being constructed in Romania and Brussels cannot afford to permit the Romanian people to be an impediment to their militaristic progress.
The narrative is the same each time; if the citizens of the targeted country vote to support their own nationalistic interests, they are Russian sympathizers.
The pro-EU rally organizers are the same people who showed up in Warsaw, Prague, Budapest and Tblisi.

Simion, 38, opposes military aid to Ukraine, is critical of the EU leadership and says he is aligned with U.S. President Donald Trump’s Make America Great Again movement.
Analysts have said a Simion victory could isolate Romania, erode private investment and destabilise NATO’s eastern flank, where Bucharest plays a key role in providing logistical support to Ukraine as it fights a three-year-old Russian invasion.
In Bucharest on Friday, an estimated 15,000 people rallied, waving EU and Romanian flags and chanting, “Russia, don’t forget Romania is not yours” and “We want our country forward not backward.” (read more)
In the larger picture the European Union is a failed effort. Much of the political support for Ukraine stems from the EU refusal to accept the predictable future.
The control agents in Brussels cling to power through control of the economic conditions, and from that perspective they will align with any entity who permits them to retain a strong financial position. As we watch this dynamic continue to unfold, I would not be at all surprised to see the EU align itself with China. Indeed, there are already indications this is happening.

Simion really put the cat among the pidgeons early this week when he said if he is elected he will appoint Georgescu as Prime Minister. Seemed a bit rash to me pulling the EU tail so hard, but he knew the impact it would have in his favour with the voters, if not Brussels.
Georgescu being the Presidential candidate the EU succeeded in banning.
The question is: how come Simion was not?
Look back to the December election – Simeon was a 3rd rate center right candidate. Georgescu being denied the right to run threw his support to Simion and the EU has not had time to reformat a legal challenge as Simion had been considered unelectable !! ha ha their pride neglected to consider the effect of #1 & #2 throwing their support to Simion. After attempting to influence the voters failed (EU and USAID funding) the Romanian legal system was selected by the EU as the tool to eliminate the pesky Georgescu but it took all the time until a couple of weeks ago to completely and finally eliminate him with a 5 years ban. But it was a one time shot as the legal system could not handle two challenges.
I suspect that Simion was in the plan from the start as they knew that a backup was highly likely to be needed. Quite possibly this was the main plan used as a diversion to put Georgescu into the real position of power, the Prime Minister. If so it was a real blinder of a plan.

I’ve lived in Romania. It’s a beautiful country, and the people are very nice. They suffered hugely under communist rule. When I was living there, I warned my friends that the EU was not the magic wand they expected it to be, and I was disappointed when they joined. I believe most Romanians have learned their lessons and realize the EU is not their best friend. I wish them well. As a nation, they deserve much more than the EU will give them.
