I agree with you. No one should ever follow blindly, and if criticism is not allowed then they need to don their jackboots! Don’t expect miracles, but do expect the time you have while Trump is in office to get your affairs in order. I am always stating it here.
Become as self sufficient as possible. It is the greatest protection for you and your family. Don’t rely on the system, try to move away from it. If you can achieve that, it doesn’t really matter who is in power, or what disaster may befall you.
Keep your pantry full. It will reward you during times of sickness, or unemployment.
Grow as much of your own food as possible. Its healthier, and the exercise benefits you, and when food prices rise again, and they will, you will have things to fall back on.

Yesterday I was trying to find some evidence that the Kristi Noem purse-snatching even happened.
All I could find was a story by CNN, with “sources” and Secretary Noem’s own account, filtered through police and DHS “sources”.
Why don’t the official sources have names?
The first question when something like this happens would be, was there a camera?
We were told right away that there was a camera. The obvious next question would be, “where is the footage from the robbery?”
It was not addressed in updates to the story, the updates just gave more detail as to what was in the purse, such as the brand name of the wallet.
If I wasn’t already suspicious about this (I was), seeing no mention of any release of a photo, and no comment yet from the restaurant, my doubts increased.
Just a little while ago, I got on the computer to see whether I was just being foolish. Certainly there would be a picture of the man by now, so the public could help identify him, right?

I am just a nobody but my purse is always within my sight and on my radar, especially if I am carrying $3,000 in cash! (Honestly, in that case, my purse would be on my person at all times.)
And anyone approaching me/my family is automatically noticed and “scanned” to determine if they are friend or possible foe! Maybe I am just more situationally aware than most, due to life circumstances, but the fact that the Secretary of Homeland Security is this “Code White” is more than a little concerning! The question that no one seems to be asking is if there was a firearm in her bag? I understand that – when we used to go to Mexico, my husband would carry a dummy wallet, which contained an expired driver’s license and a few of those credit cards that would randomly be sent to us in the mail, along with 50 bucks in cash. If that got stolen or he had to “hand it over” then we weren’t out much. But $3,000 is a lot of money to be carrying in cash, at least in my world, and it sounds like everyone should have been way more aware!

Same!! I actually carry a small backpack type of purse because I have shoulder issues and this alleviates any pressure. But whenever it isn’t on my back, it is looped through a strap to my chair or it is right in front of me so that anyone who move towards it would immediately be in my vision before they got to it. Maybe the fact that I had my wallet stolen out of my purse when I was a teenager, in the era of disco, makes me more suspicious and alert? Report that I read said the thief was sitting next to her and used his foot to nudge the purse off her chair and he put it under his jacket and walked off.

If that report is accurate, then frankly it’s incredibly concerning! This woman is the head of the Department of Homeland Security, responsible for overseeing the removal of thousands of criminals and gang members. In doing some news story drive-bys, it seems to me the entire narrative now about illegals is that we should be deporting the illegal alien criminals. Ok, I’m good with starting with the really bad ones, but Trump was elected to purge more than just the gang-banger illegals. If you are here illegally, you broke federal law to do that and are a criminal.
No one really knows how many illegal aliens have come here over the past two generations, but it’s certainly in the 30+ million range and likely much, much higher. Biden alone let in 10M. I don’t think 50M is out of range.

I keep hearing that 56% agree with deporting ALL illegals. It burns me that some believe that our nation is not sovereign and doesn’t get to have any say in who we let enter; I know young people are taught this, a niece (with a very leftist mother) once told me “I think we should let them all in.”
I literally gasped, I just can’t fathom people who believe we are the free for all destination for anyone from anywhere who comes for any purpose – and we aren’t expected to have any control or rights in the matter.
I resent this idea greatly. We are a sovereign nation; our ancestors fought for our independence, and their progeny shaped our laws. As a nation with laws – including specifically immigration law – WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO DECIDE WHO ENTERS AND WHO STAYS.
That right is not stolen from us just because thieves stole in.
I’m betting that 50M number doesn’t include the media that should go.
This is one item POTUS and his supporters have been poor at communicating.

The thief in the earlier robbery was also a white male, wearing dark clothing, a dark baseball cap and an N-95 mask, according to the victim, who said she viewed the security video of the man stealing her purse.
She said that after she heard about Noem’s theft, she almost called police because her experience sounded so similar.
A police detective contacted the woman Tuesday, mentioned the Noem case and asked her whether she was also involved in politics. The woman said she isn’t.
The Secret Service is investigating the Noem case.
Washington police said they had no comment on Noem’s case.

Did the first victim have SS protection? Just asking. My assumption is the SS primarily protections the person but I would also think they would be concerned about their personal effects as that would be a secondary route to the person. So even if she left the table, the purse would go with her one way or another. It would SS standards have yet to be corrected.
It seems possible that Noem might have slightly let her guard down in holding her purse close due to the perceived comfort of being able to rely on SS.
I hardly ever carry a bag that is not a “crossbody” type anymore; if someone tried to steal it I’m sure I would notice as they’d have to get it over my head.

There were no questions about gun ownership or anything one would deem nefarious when obtaining my Real ID; simply provided copy of birth certificate, marriage license (and death cert for my late husband, because of changing my last name when married), proof of residence, and that was it. All of those are easily obtainable documents as instructions on where, how to, obtain were in the initial instructions.
That was in 2012 or 2013 (been a while) so things could have changed, but pretty sure the local news would have had stories on any changes and current news stories don’t mention anything other than what I had to provide back then.

It is kept at State Level, for now, because Voter Registration is directly linked to applications for Drivers Licenses and State ID Cards …. puts allot of NAMES on Mail in Ballots in play for the elections. That being said, I share your outrage that these questions even exist in the REAL ID Act.

Tesla (TSLA) reported earnings last night and is the current poster child for a market that makes no sense.
The current P/E is 131 but what really stood out to me in the quarterly report was EPS of $0.27 and an operating margin of 2.5%.
That’s a grocery store!
So here’s a company with about a buck a year in actual earnings (predicated on the current run rate) and it sells for 131 times that trailing, more than 200x forward assuming the 27 cents holds and more-amusing, this morning is trading up over 7% on that dog-squeeze set of numbers!
Tesla is not alone in this regard — its one thing to “believe” but quite another to pay over 100x trailing earnings and double that on current performance for a company that has an operating margin most-akin to a grocery store and its primary product is a consumer good, specifically automobiles, and is not some “new guy on the block” but rather is a well-established manufacturer of same.
This is a company that, at 20x actual operating earnings in a world of grocery stores, whether in fact or by operating margin ratios, with an expectation of strongimprovement over the next 12-24 months, ought be selling at one tenth, approximately, its present stock price.

I still don’t see where President Trump is accusing him of sabotage, he’s just pointing out that Zelensky’s positions aren’t helpful and Crimea isn’t part of the negotiations.
President Trump really wants to make this deal, that’s why he hasn’t walked away yet.
My point about sabotage is that President Trump isn’t stupid, if he accused the reluctant other side of deliberately wrecking the deal (sabotage is deliberate) it would be over at that moment.
It will likely end up with him walking away anyway, but he will have given it his last best shot, and he also lessens his chances of looking like the bad guy to millions of people by getting into a fight with Zelensky.
I don’t think there’s a person as happy as myself that President Trump is back in office. I know that he typically doesn’t get as much support from millennials, but I’ve gladly voted for him both times. Unfortunately, I find myself increasingly unhappy. Not with President Trump but with the situation in general. All the negative noise and the overbearing stranglehold by the government bureaucrats and deep state. It really wears you down. I feel so invested in his administration that every action seems to impact me personally. At one time, I never understood people who wanted to disengage from the world, buy a plot of land, and create a homestead. The thought has become increasingly appealing to me. I’m just disillusioned with the world in general. Not to mention if I had children. The thought of sending them through a public school system is frightening.
I feel like it’s all too much. The constant barrage of negativity from the media, the annoying elected officials, and condescending liberals trying to impose their left wing politics on everyone else. Living in the (Democratic) People’s Republic of New Jersey doesn’t help either. A part of me knows that as soon as a communist gets back in office, all this nonsense will resume like it never ended. I’m trying to enjoy it now while it lasts.
I’m even disappointed with people supposedly on our side. You have Rand Paul screeching like the world will come to an end if tariffs aren’t lifted. We even have people here with nonstop concern trolling. There was a poster last week crying about how they must exempt toys from tariffs, because god forbid, the children won’t have imported junk from China for Christmas. Then there are others whining about how their parents are on a “fixed income” and can’t have any disturbance from the tariffs. The entitlement and selfishness of people is like nothing I’ve ever seen.
We’re now seeing rhetoric that PT wants to reduce the tariffs on China, which honestly would be a huge disappointment. He’s feeling the pressure, no doubt. There is no trade deal with them that will ever be successful. They lie, cheat, and steal and don’t honor any of their commitments. Look at the deal that was made with them in President Trump’s first administration. It was a complete failure, and they didn’t abide by any of the terms of that agreement. This time will be no different. They’ll be glad to work something out, because they know they’ll just ignore it anyway. You have US companies who have no interest in finding construction solutions (moving factories elsewhere, streamlining operations, etc). They want the status quo and don’t care at all about what’s good for Americans.
I really hope that President Trump does two things: 1. Pressure companies to shift their operations out of China. 2. Invest and incentivize rare earth mining in the US, so that we can get it operational quickly. I can’t think of two policies that will pay greater dividends long term.
Don’t even get me started with Wall Street. I’m someone who used to love following the market and investing. I have great disdain for it now, aside from buying index funds. It’s extremely disconcerting to see these people throwing tantrums, because they don’t like tariffs. Not to mention the volatility in the bond market. I don’t think that the Wall Street/Main Street divide has ever been larger, and yet, they seem to hold most of the cards. Any legislations now appears to need Wall Street’s approval to do it.
I know I have to stay positive, but it’s so difficult when there are this many factors working against you.
I’m far older than you Chris and yet I totally empathize; sometimes you read about the huge morass of corruption and the extent of the anti-Americans actively working against the restoration of our Republic and it is very demoralizing.
I’ve often thought my one complaint about President Trump is that he waited too long, we’re too far gone, though I don’t think enough people realized the situation decades ago for him to have been elected.
I hope you spend some time in prayer, some time in the great outdoors, appreciating God’s handiwork, and away from the daily grind of watching politics. You sound as if you’re risking depression, and like the parent on the airplane, you only can help if you tend yourself.

Still really trying to wrap my head around the “Due Process” fiasco in our country for the last several years.
Apparently Legal Americans can be denied “Due Process” and J6 is not the first time this has happened. One incident of “Due Process” being denied to an America was a close friend of mine who happened to be a state Senator.
Yet it seems that Non-American Illegals who are ALL criminals who never asked for due process when they entered illegally supposedly cannot be deported until they receive their “Due Process.” in a court of law.
Mind you over 90% of illegals NEVER show up for their court hearings given to them at the border. For that matter if an illegal is arrested for a crime over 90% don’t show up if they get released on their own recognizance or with a bail costing lost of money. Depending on the crime they will just commit more crimes, or flee south of the border until things cool down.
The demoncrats can’t even define ‘due process’ – its simply become mindless repetition for them.
Legally, it means notice and the opportunity to be heard.
This is one somebody here came at me with, about how we should have done something about RealID before.
The thing is, many of us have been trying.

10 year prison sentence and permanent felony on your record for first offense.
2nd offense or 1st offense and involved in a crash: death penalty.
It is the easiest crime to avoid, you make a conscious decision to drink and drive knowing the potential to kill someone is high.
Will the state even inform the feds on date and time of release? If not, I doubt they will camp out hoping to catch him.
