When the body is brought into the basilica, the Litany of Saints chant is sung. The camerlengo, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, leads the procession.
In a change ordered by Francis, the pope’s body will no longer placed on an elevated bier in the basilica. Rather, the simplified wooden coffin is placed facing the pews, with the Pasqual candle nearby.

In my earnest study of the history of mankind from a Biblical perspective [the Bible is actually a history book more so than a religious publication, although there is plenty of religious goings-on], I have found that the most frequent abuse of the word of God, comes from men who stray from the original intent. In the Old Testament, the Nation of Israel was decimated and dispersed for appropriating the idol worship of the local pagans against direct orders from God. In the New Testament, the farther subsequent generations moved away from the living ministry of Jesus and his instructions, the more fractured the controlling leadership became. Everybody wants in on the act. It is very lucrative to offer a pain-free trip to heaven in exchange for donations. Somebody somewhere should mention hell as the alternative location. Betsy, I am interested in reading the specific passages in the KJV AV 1611 that alludes to Peter actually going to Rome. I know Paul did, as he has Acts 9:15, a directive of God to bear his name before the Gentiles, and kings and the children of Israel and also, the Book of Romans, of course. He was in Rome and indeed, got his head removed there. No other apostle is mentioned as being in Rome that I can find. Thank you for your time.

I like to converse on the common ground of what God, Jesus or one of their directly appointed speakers say about a subject related to the spiritual, historical and doctrinal understanding of the body of Christ’s redeemed. That is exclusive to Biblical verses not adapted, changed, edited or removed by single or committee activists who want to help God with his writing skills.

But if you read the link, you can see the discussion and the debate which indicates( by some) that Peter was indeed in Rome. It depends on how one interprets the Biblical scriptures and language. That at least was my understanding.
Adaping, changing, editing, and worst, removing the Word of God is forbidden. I’m not sure if interpretation falls within these. As you can see, however, it hasn’t stopped what seems to be a subject which has garnered plenty of that.

Timothy 2:15 ‘Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman than needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.’ What God says, where he says it and to whom it applies requires believing that what is written is exactly what he means. And then, earnest prayer for guidance and a humble heart to inquire. The holy spirit can read the heart of the investigator and impart knowledge to the sincere. I gave up posting for Lent. It was very hard indeed, with Sundance’s non-stop, relentless, hammering of the fake media narratives. Not to mention all His patience meticulously reporting all the shenanigans and tinkering TPTB continue to assault us all with through their various methods.
I chose not posting as my Lenten discipline because I am so poor in humility. It was humbling when I realized after a few weeks that my mouth and opinions should stay shut more often, lol. I don’t really contribute much in this world but take plenty. I had more time to be a comment reader, a listener of sorts. I was refrained from posting mostly through all the excellent snark and humor posted daily and learned that laughing more at the dumbass shit going on, means less time being pissed about it. Treepers are awfully funny.
I prayed quietly for you all the whole 40 days. I thank you all for who you are and especially you Sundance. I’m grateful.
The Pope has passed. He changed all burial protocol, so the bumpy ride begins. The hat tip was in that little handy work. All things nefarious seem to start with an unprecedented procedure, that begins the unraveling and upending of tradition. Straight from the commie handbook perhaps.

A young Pope would have more time to out live the faithful who would oppose and see through the agenda more easily than our young, who we now know where ill formed in the faith by design. As Sundance always says ” Once you see the puppet strings, you can’t go back to when you didn’t see them.” I’m afraid it applies to everything these days.

As a related aside, the whole Catholic and Protestant thing is heartbreaking. I love my Catholic and Protestant brothers and sisters in Christ. When people ask me about my faith, I tell them I am a Christian and part of Christ’s Church. This will, undoubtedly, be an unpopular sentiment here.

If he can stick around long enough to marginalize the commies in the College of Cardinals and the rest of the hierarchy, that would be enough for anyone to ask. Then there would be a much greater chance that his own successor will be an actual Christian Catholic. Sadly though, I don’t see this happening.
There are no guarantees. Pope John Paul the first lasted 33 days as Pope before dying at 65. The best thing about him was John Paul the second succeeded him.
As much as I love Cardinal Sarah, he is too old at 80 years of age. Hopefully someone much younger and strong in every way, very similar to the Cardinal’s outlook, yet stays around long enough to clean up the crap in the Vatican.
He appointed 22, nearly half, of the cardinals. He didn’t want Trump’s policies to prevail and he told his closest aides that so we will see which power faction wins.
I would recommend Cardinal Sarah’s book “The Power of Silence”. It is absolutely exquisitely written. It would be too much to hope for to have him as the next Pope.
