G’morning Winston. The charts are nice but solely focused on imports (I know that is the point of the article) however, it would have been nice to show a percentage of US manufactured goods outside of the pie charts…Just to show scale.
My concern is with other countries quality control(QC) or lack there of. U.S. quality control is good but is lessened even more so by base products of foreign manufacture where QC is an afterthought.
Bring back our manufacturing (steel, lumber, electronics, etc.), employ and pay our citizens, and get the governments hand out of our wallets. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.

“Today, 30 percent of our infrastructure is in excess to need,” Flosi said. “I’ve learned no matter how much we work to improve quality of life, we will not get the desired effect as an Air Force If we don’t focus on excess infrastructure.
“It all requires funding and manpower to maintain but provides no benefit to the mission, our airmen, or our nation. Divesting, consolidating, and/or reallocating this infrastructure will free up funding to improve quality of life and the quality of our service.”

When I first looked at it, I couldn’t believe it, because there was a hole in the steel and this is steel that was, you remember the width of the windows of the World Trade Center folks. I think you know if you were ever up there, they were quite narrow and in between was this heavy steel. I said how could a plane, even a plane, even a 767 or 747 or whatever it might have been, how could it possibly go through this steel? I happen to think that they had not only a plane but they had bombs that exploded almost simultaneously, because I just can’t imagine anything being able to go through that wall. Most buildings are built with the steel on the inside around the elevator shaft. This one was built from the outside which is the strongest structure you can have and it was almost just like a can of soup
Unprotected steel (not fire proofed) fails at 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. The impact and fire ball of a heavy commercial airliner (a reason they chose 767’s flying cross-country) ripped the fireproofing off leaving just unprotected steel. A standard house fire , not fueled by jet fuel, gets to temperatures above 1,200.
There is no other outcome when multiple floors fail due to the steel supporting them fails. It’s a math problem.
Also look a residences, roofs fall in faster in the era of trusses. Trusses are strong but they fail at the gusset plates when exposed to high heat from a fire. A traditionally framed house won’t have a roof collapse as fast (more of the wood needs to burn away which takes a bit longer than gusset plates failing).
Alan Kilsheimer is a world-renowned engineer. I used to do business with him at his frim in DC. The morning of 9/11 they were racing him up to NYC to help with saving the buildings. He did the calculations of all factors involved on a napkin in the SUV on the way up to NYC and he told the driver to turn around they were going to collapse.
That being said, building 7 makes zero sense. And he wasn’t called up for that one.
And inquiring minds have been asking questions about that building ever since 9/12/2001…
Since they regularly demolish old high rises, why not try to recreate what happened to the towers, and see what happens?

There was no fireproofing to be ripped off, from the steel on the upper floors. It was unprotected. The coating used on the lower floors contained asbestos, which was banned during the construction of the towers. So they simply completed the towers without it. That was reported at the time.
One foggy night, a heavy bomber slammed into the Empire State Building and exploded. Next morning, there it still was, sticking out of the building. The structure was still sound.
Nothing caused by “jet fuel” can cause an entire building to collapse neatly into its own footprint. Let alone two of the tallest buildings in the world. The only way for that to happen – as we saw with “Building 7” – is controlled demolition. Exercised by a company with truly remarkable skill.
So, the truth of what actually happened there is far more sinister than any official cover-story. This is psychopathy of an unbelievable degree: an operation that required months of planning while the future victims just walked past.
To be fair …. that was a “Medium” B-25 Bomber that stuck the Empire State building and NOT a “Heavy” Bomber (i.e. B-17, B-24 or B-29).
The weight of a B-25 is a fraction of the 767 Airliner.
The B-25 was traveling at < 1/2 the speed of the 767 Airliner.
The B-25 carries a fraction of the fuel of the 767 Airliner.
Also, the B-25 used AV-GAS and not JP-8 Jet Fuel. The AV-Gas was gone in a flash while the JP-8 burned for allot longer and allot hotter during the time it burned.
The theory of the collapse of the towers may be as you said but the comparison to the B-25 hitting the Empire State Building is an Apples to Oranges comparison and not valid.

The problem I keep bumping into with a controlled demolition is why?
What would be gained if the CIA or our government was involved? You wouldn’t have needed the structures to fall to bring in a 9-11 Patriot Act by Congress. All you needed was an attack on our homeland and fear. Just the act of these planes being hijacked and flown into these buildings killing Americans would be enough. Enough to bring about a military response, the creation of Homeland Security, etc., and eventually the Patriot Act.
I mean if the enemy(terrorists) were able to somehow wire these buildings for demolition, then I could see the reasoning behind it. Not that they could pull something like this off without collaboration, but then why go to all the trouble of hijacking planes.
This is why I have a difficult time believing a demolition. It just doesn’t make sense.
There real point of concern, is acknowledging we live under powers who have zero compunction about doing this to their own people, to achieve an agenda objective for power’s sake.
This is what the JFK assassination (and others) is all about – agents within our own government doing the unthinkable to Americans and America.
After all, aren’t we supposed to be a nation of the Rule of Law? Aren’t we supposed to be a nation of Christian morals and ethics?
It’s using these as the overall premise of our belief in our leadership, that has people shaking their heads at the thought of that things like 9/11 and Covid-19 could well have been inside jobs, inflicted upon the American people for power’s sake.
We’ve been lied to by both political parties for so long, about so many things, that the evidence both parties are colluding and working together for the exact same goals, makes these thoughts no longer contained within the realm of far-fetched conspiracies.
That’s why so many people want these issues addressed and cleaned up.
I fully understand the doubts people have about who runs our government, the actions of our CIA and in fact all of our intelligence agencies, and how they may be running our country instead of the people we elect. I’m one of them.
I can even see them pulling off the JFK assassination for foreign policy reasons, Vietnam, etc., but why a controlled demolition of these buildings?
Did they really need the buildings to fall to bring about the Patriot Act?
Could they possibly be behind the murder of over 3,000 Americans? What kind of organization could plan this and just how many people would it take to pull off? Right? It couldn’t be just a few bad characters to pull something like this off, and the number of people involved has to be plenty. How do you keep it a secret?
Lets just say they were behind the terrorists getting here, getting flying lessons, having sufficient financing, organizing them into terror groups and choosing the planes to hijack. They couldn’t just pick any plane right, it needed to be large planes full of fuel flying coast to coast. Then the planning to get past security, get on the planes, and organize their terror plot to gain control of the planes. That takes an unbelievable amount of planning , organization and financing to pull off. You better believe there is a money trail, and someone knows it.
Now, even if our intelligence agencies were behind all this, and they knew it was going to take place, why also go to the extent to plan and organize the demolition of these buildings. That would take some doing as well, and a great deal to finance.
Again, there would also be a money trail. But why? Why the controlled demolition of these buildings? I just can’t wrap my mind around this kind of thinking. Just because they can? Just doesn’t make any sense to me.

And, “Building 7” was intended to prove the point – as well as to demolish NYC’s “anti-terrorism response center” when it was thought that officials might have gone to it. The building was demolitioned in a picture-perfect way … as were buildings 1 & 2.
You could see molten metal pouring out of the structures, well below the point of impact. Photos of the debris show steel girders sliced in half at a 45-degree angle. Very simply, these are demolition charges. Both buildings fell neatly into their own footprint.
Any company who could admit to such an incredible accomplishment would have the world beating a pathway to their door. And, let’s face it, the “demolition” community is a very small and closed community. It took months to place all of those charges and wire them up under everybody else’s nose. The Government certainly knows what actually happened and who actually did it. But they don’t want to reveal it, because this is what gave them the PATRIOT Act.

In the meantime, PDJT’s approval ratings have gone up. So something is registering with people and it isn’t in the negative. Adding my take here – a significant plurality, if not outright significant majority – of Americans were offered hope during President Trump’s first term. Even those who voted against him, even despised him, admitted later their lives and livelihoods were far better under Trump’s MAGA than under the Democrat’s “Build Back Better”.
Now, with President Trump back for a second term, the people can actually see the results coming, before they are realized. They see the absolute insane opposition to what they themselves voted for, and respond by giving President Trump higher and higher approval ratings.
I think most Americans now know it’s going to be bumpy, because they now know most of the DC pols and the judiciary are against the betterment of American citizens’ lives. i feel like its self-evident. the one that is “legalized” and under the guise of “compassion” gets little to no oversight and grows monstrously for decades.

Trump is saying if you are here illegally, we will make it easy for you to go home. If you don’t do it and try to stay as an illegal, you will definitely be removed and you are never coming back. When you have a majority/plurality of humans being treated the worse way compared against the minority, it will always correct itself; and if they push it to far it will be the type of correction we do not want to see.
Average Americans are being metaphysically exiled from Earth. This is the only nation we “belong in”. No one else lets us go to their nations and become one of them/treated fairly under the law and with opportunities. So, we are stuck here, and here now treats us like an undesirable community to be cleansed.

Breaking into CECOT would out of the question.

That “drawback” in the United States is called the Constitution. Article III courts cannot legislate since that power is assigned to Congress alone per Article I.
Thus, in a constitutional democratic federal republic such as ours, the “door is always wide open” for Congress to pass laws as the majority wishes. POTUS can agree or veto but Congress can override that veto if two-thirds or more of Congress wish to do so. SCOTUS can only judge the law as Constitutional or reject it as unConstitutional. But if rejected, a law can be revised to meet the court’s documented shortcoming(s) and passed again.
Our legal problems have usually resulted from SCOTUS reading things into the Constitution that either aren’t there or that were inferred by a majority of SCOTIS justices using a tortured interpretation of the laws or inferred “rights.” Most of us and the Republicans prefer an originalist justice who follows a strict interpretation of the Constitution. But the Democrats appoint justices who use a very liberal interpretation (which really means they fabricate an interpretation to suit their objective, no matter how tortured that interpretation may be.)
