President Trump is swinging the BIG UGLY hammer against the panda and the Beijing dragon behind it.
President Trump (Via Truth Social) – “Yesterday, China issued Retaliatory Tariffs of 34%, on top of their already record setting Tariffs, Non-Monetary Tariffs, Illegal Subsidization of companies, and massive long term Currency Manipulation, despite my warning that any country that Retaliates against the U.S. by issuing additional Tariffs, above and beyond their already existing long term Tariff abuse of our Nation, will be immediately met with new and substantially higher Tariffs, over and above those initially set.
Therefore, if China does not withdraw its 34% increase above their already long term trading abuses by tomorrow, April 8th, 2025, the United States will impose ADDITIONAL Tariffs on China of 50%, effective April 9th. Additionally, all talks with China concerning their requested meetings with us will be terminated! Negotiations with other countries, which have also requested meetings, will begin taking place immediately. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” [LINK]
It must also be noted, this global reset and tariff system is visibly the fracture point between the Tech Bros and MAGA economic nationalists. Elon Musk and Bill Ackman are now directly in opposition to President Trump and the global trade reset.
You know that ‘cleaving’ I was talking about? The issue of the Tech Bros -vs- MAGA? Well, tariffs are the trigger.
Tech Bros do not know borders. Their industry and business sector are borderless. Tariffs are bold economic lines around a border.
- Musk vs Navarro
- Ackman vs Lutnick
- Sacks vs Hassett
Tariffs are where the interests of the Tech Bros financially diverge from MAGA. The globalists and multinational corps who know this, specifically the EU team, will exploit this fracture point. They will target U.S. Tech industry in their tariff avoidance strategy to create division. This is what EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen is talking about when she says “countermeasures”. Watch for it.

I have to believe (naively I’m sure) that Musk has known all along that he was serious about the tariffs…
Is this why the talk of Musk leaving DOGE has popped up all the sudden?
Well the good news is it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to do a decent forensic audit, especially with such a target rich environment. All it takes is an assertive mindset, some good data analysts, and clout behind you to break down barriers.
No, but it takes DATA…and that is what Musk brought to the table…the worlds best data miners….
Musk just pulled them all together….
Lets us not forget this was not done out of the goodness of Musk’s heart…he gets the data out of this…
Yeah, maybe about how the money moves but he’s not harvesting SSNs….I think you listen to too much liberal bullshit…
No data is leaving the control of the government I assure you…
If it did, the liberals would be going berserk…as if they aren’t already….
Yes, he was the catalyst and the visionary, but now that he has set the strategy and approach, if he is the great leader that I think he is, he will have built a legacy team to carry on. After seeing the Brett Baier (?) group interview he did with his very impressive group of lieutenants who were very successful in their own right, I think the team is well positioned for success.
Quantum computing may help.
Wasn’t his plan all along to get DOGE going and then exit? I remember hearing a days limit when he first got started—90? 120?
Correct. 130 days. That is his limited Gov Employee status timeline. But some of the timeline discussions seems to be moving up. Depending on who’s discussing it of course.
Year and half …summer of 26 was my understanding.
That is the deadline for DOGE itself; July 4, 2026.
Yes it was. I don’t know why that person is acting like it wasn’t.
Tesla has many assets in Chyna he has to play nice with Panda.
Needs to move his puzzle pieces back to the states. The End.
You’re incorrect on Tesla. They don’t import from China. Tesla is the most fully American-made vehicle on the market. No one else even comes close. They control almost the entirety of their supply chain in America, too, and don’t have to worry about part imports and foreign vendors much. They’re a completely different animal than all other auto manufacturers in the U.S.
Tesla ALSO manufactures in China. They are the number one call seller in China. But the cars made in China are sold in China, other Pacific nations, and Europe. Those cars are not imported to the U.S.
Chinese-made Tesla vehicles often will use other Chinese-manufactured battery systems. That is because the ChiComs’ battery tech is at least a decade beyond anything in the U.S., and Tesla’s battery tech in the U.S. is a decade beyond any other U.S. manufacturer.
Musk doesn’t have to give up anything for Tesla. The longer the trade wars go, it is likely that Tesla becomes the strongest, most prolific automaker in the U.S. Look for an acceleration of Tesla adoption by consumers, and a likely doubling of market share by next year.
Musk has many other things going on and was never going to be there full-time for very long. Also too much to expect he would agree with everything Trump or his larger team was going to propose. The tariffs certainly must impact some of his business operations, such as possibly EV batteries for Tesla, and he might not be too happy about that. But he hasn’t stormed off and quit in protest, at least not yet, so we should give him a break and not jump to premature conclusions. He is doing a great deal of good with his DOGE efforts.
All batteries in U.S. Teslas are built in-house by Tesla here in the U.S. Their batteries aren’t as “good” as what CATL is putting out in China from either a long-term reliability standard, nor by charging speed, but Tesla has succeeded in something else. Batteries being made by Tesla now are the cheapest-to-manufacture battery of any EV battery in the world. Prices are going to be coming down further.
U.S. Tesla doesn’t lose anything to the tariffs. Since Tesla is the most fully-American manufactured vehicle, including the vehicles with the largest percentage of parts manufactured in America, Tesla is the best-situated U.S. automaker to not only survive but thrive in the tariffs.
Musk and others need to stay in their lane
after all, he has made a lot of money on
the backs of US taxpayers
time to zip it
Has Musk made any comments, especially negative comments? Don’t you think you kinda did a rush to judgment here in a rude way.
Yes he has where are you getting your news from carrier pigeon
get your facts straight
I don’t see any facts from either of you, only rude opinions. Let’s start with you
Where are your FACTS?
Tesla owners silicon valley on x posted a snipit of Elon saying, “ “I hope it is agreed that both Europe and The United States should move ideally in my view to a zero tariff situation, effectively creating a free trade zone between Europe and North America.”
Then there is this… https://www.yahoo.com/news/battle-elon-won-t-win-034449830.html
Can I do anymore research for you?🙄 Really not hard to find if you take 15 seconds and scour headlines from citizenfreepress.com
Literally EVERY libertarian thinks this way. Musk is no different.
He returned two human beings stuck in a space station and caught part of the equipment again. He hasn’t used us taxpayers nearly as badly as our elected ‘officials ‘ have used us.
Tesla’s are subsidized but at least they have value. Trannies for Palestine is not only worthless but antagonizes the religion.
I agree with you. Also, without Musk then there would have been no DOGE.
My guess is that Musk can gather up all of his operations and move them all into the USA. He might as well get started early so that he has a great place in line.
I
Teslas are the least-subsidized vehicles in the U.S. market. Not kidding.
Really? Without Elon Musk, Trump probably wouldn’t be President, is how I take it.
Donald Trump would have been President with or without Elon.
Leftists love to say Elon is the reason President Trump won, and that is just wrong — or a lie — which leftists know how to do very well.
President Trump won in 2016 without Elon.
President Trump won in 2020 without Elon.
President Trump won in 2024 without Elon.
We voted for President Trump. Elon had nothing to do with it.
Must we forget Elons purchase of Twitter and transforming it into a Free Speech platform for all.
This was pivotal in TRUMPS 2024 election win. JMHO
All is fair in love and war.
If you love your country you have to be prepared to go to war.
If you love your company more than your country,… well move over, country first
One battle at a time.
Our Commander in Chief has spoken 🇺🇸
Pray for his safety.
Amen Sis Amen ❤️🙏🏽
Amen Betsy, in fact, I encourage everybody to pray daily for President Trump and his cabinet. Thank you.
This is like Eisenhower’s broad front. Press them everywhere on all fronts.
Or, Flood the Zone. Same thing. I think this helps explains President Trump’s patience with the rogue judges. Let that issue grind away while every other front is attacked and one by one they crumble.
And the dems are campaigning against themselves.
Sad how so little was taught of our history and of our Presidents.
President Eisenhower was a great President.
POTUS EISENHOWER Was a GREAT ” Place Holder ” for Transition from WORLD WAR 2 into the NUCLEAR AGE –
POTUS TRUMAN WAS Riding the WAVE to Finish the War and SPLIT Korea, Europe and the Middle East
POTUS EISENHOWER WAS The STABLE HAND That KEPT ” The Genie ” ( – THE BOMB – ) in The Bottle
POTUS KENNEDY WOULD HAVE STOPPED Vietnam and the CIA , imo

I suspect the divide between China and the US will not heal–EVER! Next–Taiwan crisis!
Good we shouldn’t be in bed with godless commies to begin with!
They will shake your hand and steal you blind. Trump knows they cannot be trusted, that is why he is putting the spear right thru the heart, no bs’ing around
General Stilwell agrees.
Goes for India too, unfortunately. Our nations have vastly diverging origins. We can’t play nice forever.
We can not Greg M.
For many many many years we heard about how wealthy America is and how we can afford to help out the poor and unfortunate in the rest of the world.
We have been made to think that the American taxpayer must take care of the poor starving in Africa, India and China.
Ameican citizens use to live in a country that was secure, safe, and lovely.
Our big cities were amazing, lovely small towns and rural areas.
Now after 80 years of sending so much of what made us great, we now look like the decrepet and very dangerous third world crap holes.
This can not go on.
Yes, always a zero sum game.
In a careful read of History, since the days of Stalin and Mao, Communist China has always been a chimera – Freda Utley’s works would be a good read. The idea of agreement, was the “spider to the fly”, always has been.
Communists within our Government, Laughlin Currie, Harry Dexter White and others facilitated the destruction of Chan Ki shek, while Marshal, forced meetings between Shek & Mao. The advantage was always given to the Communists. John Birch,
a Military Officer, was assassinated by Mao’s group, as he was helping the Nationalist Chinese learn to stop Chinese assaults.
The Han are either at your feet or at your throat.

here is a fact I know about because at the time I “was in the business”
before we outsourced products to China
we outsourced them to Taiwan
There’s a cultural divide that can’t be bridged.
East is East. West is West. Never the twain shall meet.
Or… You can’t fit a square peg in a round hole.
Maybe not. China needs American markets and American dollars to survive.
We can exist without Chyna, can they exist without the U.S.?
WW can exist without their products, bad thing is they already own land in the US.
can’t heal an open wound and frankly, its always been open.
Chinas economy is in panic mode right now. They can’t withstand a trade war with anybody.
Hell, XI barely even has control of his own country.
Those around him want him gone. This little temper tantrum will end pretty quickly, if he wants to stay alive.
Or it could play out like Argentina and the Falklands did when Argentina’s military junta tanked their economy. War abroad is often the first resort of a government in trouble at home.
It is entirely possible that China couldgo to war with us. The problem is that the US has sent a staggering number of it’s weapons to Ukraine for Russia to blow to hell. In the event of a war Russia will without side with China. Together they could easily win a war against us. Think about it, both Russia and China have hypersonic missiles that cannot be shot down while we here (thanks to the communist Obama who stopped their development) have none!
Russia is a western Christian nation. The Russian Orthodox Churchbis in ascendency. The Chinese communists are atheist as are all communist nations.
God can’t usurp the power of the state. They are all fiercely irreligious.
The PRC is living in a State of Confucian.
And then preside over Earth’s ashes.
Russia will not side with China they to smart for that
China is not going to war or with us or anyone else that’s not gonna happen
yes…Taiwan!!!
I don’t believe they are intelligent enough to do this right now. I believe their first move will be something else, in which they shoot themselves in the foot.
Who is “they”?

China Cuts Off Rare Earth Mineral Exports to U.S. in Trade War with Trump
https://www.breitbart.com/asia/2025/04/07/china-cuts-off-rare-earth-mineral-exports-to-u-s-in-trade-war-with-trump/
Oh, no! We’re doomed, DOOMED!
I’ve posted this before.
Reserves of titanium minerals worldwide in 2024, by country (in million metric tons of titanium dioxide content):
Australia: 215
China: 110
Canada: 51
Norway: 37

Ukraine: 5.9

Colossal Cache of Lithium Found in US May Be World’s Largest
“It could change the dynamics of lithium globally…”
10 Sep 2023
A new study, published in the journal Science Advances, estimates that the McDermitt Caldera, a volcanic crater on the Nevada-Oregon border, harbors a colossal 20 to 40 million metric tons of lithium. Based on these newest figures, the caldera dwarfs the amount of lithium in even (previous world leader) Bolivia’s salt flats, home to around 23 million tons.

Rare Earths Discovery Near Wheatland, WY So Big It Could Be World Leader
American Rare Earths Inc. disclosed in a technical report on Wednesday that it found 64% more rare earth minerals than it had originally envisioned. “This exceeded our wildest dreams,” CEO Donald Swartz told Cowboy State Daily.
February 07, 2024
2.34 billion metric tons which is 2,304 million metric tons versus China (previous world leader) at 44 million metric tons.
Thank you.
What about them cutting us off of pharmaceuticals?
They might be doing us a favor since big pharma tends to overmedicate us!
This is a big tell… and best learned now. We’ve allowed China to addict us to drugs.
India is also providing essential medications.
This is yet another proof of why the USA must bring manufacturing of all necessities to maintain our self reliance and independence back to this country and not rely on foreign mining and manufacturing sources.
So true!
We get many Pharmaceutical from Ireland
Most of them come from India anyway.
That one will be harder to obtain because of environmental protections.
That’s why we are seeing Musk and Sacks getting so involved in Ukraine.
They don’t give a damn about lives lost, they want to get their minerals from a place with zero concern for its citizens.
Anything in Alaska?
Well, there goes the batteries for the electric cars. What a shame. Not
Cannot wait to see Elon make a killer gas guzzler!
Definitely correct. Great post SD. Trump wants monies paid back to the US even if they go to mutual zero tariffs. EURO folks stole alot of money from us. As did China and everyone else in the world. Payback is a b.
PDJT at his finest! The stock market will correct. Let the world melt. 🇺🇸 America first…
If you don’t sell the loses are unrealized.
The market will take off like a rocket once the tariff dust settles.
In all honestly, I’m liking the ‘cleaving’ of the USA from the rest of so-called western powers that is taking place. Their Build Back Better slogan, infatuation with wind & solar power and overblown sense of importance will all ring hollow very soon, after they bend the knee to the USA!
I doubt (extremely) that I could pass a test re economics and all, but I sure do enjoy reading, line by line, all that Sundance lays out by way of clarifications, explanations, and education….because I can understand it as I read it. The gift and choice to make the complex understandable. Echoes, in print, of Rush Hudson Limbaugh.
I miss Rush . . .
Totally agree. I’ll bet elRushbo is up there smiling!
Excellent.
Warned: watch for the CCP shipping via Vietnam.

They do that with Canada now
Luck they’re still on the s**t list then.
This was Wilbur Ross’ warning last week on Kudlow.
However, I remember PT suggesting that if any country tried to thwart the system, the tariffs would grow exponentially.
Maybe our clandestine services are now being put to good use!!!
Speaking of sand…..had to make a trip to Walmart this morning and noticed this in their outdoors and garden section: bags of “washed play sand”. Yikes. What a frail bunch of toddlers are being fed and sheltered today by neurotic mothers because, apparently, someone has presented a demand that the sand the toddlers are going to play in must be washed first.
And who has to BUY SAND for kids to play in? We just played in the dirt and I taught my city-born sons to do the same—dig a hole in the lawn, fill it with water, which makes mud, and then after it dries out, it’s just dirt again. Go play in it.
I suppose it has to be re-washed every time one of those toddlers pees in it.
“I suppose it has to be re-washed every time one of those toddlers pees in it.”
No, just if it is not covered when not in use by the kiddies. Otherwise they will find toosie rolls in it.
If it is not covered then it gets used by the neighborhood cats as a litter box. They LOVE sand!
Kids exposed to dirt and the outdoors very early in life will have stronger immune systems.
Even once neighborhood cats start availing themselves of the large litter box you just installed for them.
In short order, sandboxes become an active ecosystem full of fauna and flora.
You’re showing your age. As a child of the 50’s I often wonder at the miracle that we all grew up.
And grateful for my age! I was born in 1944 on a farm in dryland country, NE MT.
I was raised free range. Be home by sun down.
Me too! I considered my brothers and me to be adventurous explorers.
We once ventured into a dry creek bed and imagined we were lost in the desert.
My mother got caught in “quick sand” muck in the swamps of LaGuardia airport when it was under construction.
We come from a long line of it’s a big world to explore when you’re a free range kid!
Nothing better than to have been born in the ’50s and raised free range.
Free range in the 50’s on the coast of NC! Barefoot in the sandspurs. Crabbing, fishing, clamming and swimming. Sunburned and no sun screen. Showers under the outside hose. Kids need to experience this.
Sounds like a bit of Heaven to me, Lindy!
Free range San Diego kid here. Playing in the tide pools, snorkeling, surfing, canyon hiking. Be home when the street lights come on… Sadly, kids today don’t know what they are missing.
Yard darts were fun.
Life on the farm sorts the whole antibacterial paranoia for sure. As kids, we used cow flaps for frisbies, shared bathwater, mucked barns, holed up in the cow stalls for the warmth, drank unsterilized water, ate cereal with fresh milk, petted all the animals fearlessly, jumped in dirty old leaves, dug in the mud n cuck and seldom got sick or infected. Life was grand.
Exactly. The only time everything came to a stop and we had to get in the car to drive the 18 mile round trip into town to the doctor was when we had stepped on a rusty nail that came clear through our shoe and we needed a tetanus shot.
Sandboxes are fun! But gravel piles are where boys go to dream of being men.
Gravel pits!
Running full speed down a huge gravel pit, knowing if you fall it isn’t going to hurt.
Just yesterday I was able to get an overly coddled 5 year old boy to enjoy taking his shoes off to feel the sand with his feet.
This girl couldn’t resist the challenge of a grain bin! I’m a survivor! 😉
What was the sand ‘washed’ with?
Shudder!
In my youth, it was washed with stray cat poop. Perhaps they have concerns about silica and asbestos now?
That gave me an idea….. Scented Play Sand!
Pumpkin Spice or Lavender Mocha for the spoiled little brats. 😂
And then there is the latte version. Starbucks would make a killing!
President Ronald Reagan said on 29 Nov 1988, “It’s the American vision of creating a new nation of free people, a country that would be a light unto the nations, and a shining city upon a hill. It is that vision that brought each one of us here to Washington, and I know that you each will keep faith with that great American dream that burns within our souls and within the soul of every American.”
We now have a real leader, President Donald John Trump carrying that vision forward for us the American people…
GO, DONALD, GO!

Its an easy guess that Musk believed Trump was serious about tariffs, illegals, VISA misuse/fraud — all things that impact his businesses etc. Musk backed DeSantis early on, clearly preferring the jolly band of globalists, neocons, etc., who manufactured DeSantis over America First.
I wonder — does Musk know of loss/reduction of government contracts that he and his companies depend on? Will we get an honest, thorough evaluation of Musk-company contracts awarded by DOD / NASA / IC ?
He wins contracts through competence and his competition wins them through kickbacks.
Some of those contracts should never have been offered nor awarded in the first place.
So far, everything he’s done and found with DOGE has been made public on the Internet.
(Not at the level of individual identification, of course.)
So my guess is “yes, but”.
The “but” being that defense and especially espionage tries to keep its spending secret.
So we won’t be told whether some classified program even exists, never mind whether it’s classified because it needs to be or because it would be embarrassing if the public knew how it was being abused.
Your first sentence is so sweet and so full of happy sunshine. How do you know the basis for contract awards to Musk’s companies?
My comment was about whether Musk is upset because certain contracts his company(ies) depend on are being curtailed or canceled. If not authorized by statute, programs and associated contracts need to be canceled. This is no slight to the companies with those contracts — its the governments fault for offering them in the first place.
Musk builds things and delivers. That is the honest difference.
And? I don’t get how this relates to my comment.
It’s been no secret that Pres. Trump was going to use tariffs as a major tool in his ammo box. He spoke of it many, many times during the campaign.
Why are the tech bros just now reacting to it? Did they not believe Pres. Trump?
If you have followed the arc of Tech, Peter Thiel recruiting JD Vance, the creation of Palantir, the funding of Vance’s senatorial run, and eventually the roadmap to connect Vance to Trump, this is a video speech you absolutely must not miss. JD Vance was sent to the AI Summit for a reason.

Trying to bring awareness to this without hurting the feels is hard.
It’s almost as if there was a plan…
“Musk vs Navarro
Ackman vs Lutnick
Sacks vs Hassett”
Well I guess we are going to see who stays and who goes.
Interesting times, indeed.
Ackman is a snake
He’s pooping the bed on X.
Sacks is weird.
It must be considered that there is nothing more difficult to carry out nor more doubtful of success nor more dangerous to handle than to initiate a new order of things; for the reformer has enemies in all those who profit by the old order, and only lukewarm defenders in all those who would profit by the new order; this lukewarmness arising partly from the incredulity of mankind who does not truly believe in anything new until they actually have experience of it.” Nicolo Machiavelli
They wouldn’t be caught dead with an American Flag.
Machiavelli has a proper view of the world so corrupted by a combination of the bad side of human nature and the stupid and/or inattentive serfs who allow the perps displaying that to take advantage of them.
And when it finally gets bad enough and the serfs wake up and send the perps to the gallows or guillotines, it usually doesn’t turn out well because, once again, the serfs are stupid and/or inattentive.
Old Nicolo was an astute student of human nature.
Time to free the average Chinese citizen and destroy the CCP which is part of the global deep state. Banksters and CCP are the same.
Good!
Hey EU, are you paying attention?
First the EU has an odd way of exploiting the “fracture” between Big Tech and MAGA Movement … note their recent shakedowns of Zuckerberg and Microsoft via the EU “anti-trust” legal scam, to collect $Billions is “fines” and “settlements”.
If the President’s team is reading CTH … reminder …. they hold a card that puts every penny of capital invested overseas by ALL the US Companies (not just Big Tech) at risk as well as removes the legal rational used for H1B Visa’s and University Exchanges …. the US Government can review, adjust and end EXPORT LICENSES and FINANCIAL PERMITS that actually enable US Businesses and Banks to go off-shore.
The President’s Team also holds another card vs China Inc. that will hurt their pocket books DIRECTLY. Cancel China Inc.’s access to US Equity Trading Markets and remove permission for the Bank of China Inc. in all its permutation of names to operate in the US in any form.
China Inc. is allowed to play in the big game Stock Markets and Exchanges of all types and China Inc. Banks are here in the US, only thanks to an Executive Order by somebody using Biden’s Auto Pen

Completely understand your points. Yet, foreign banks in the US have been around for decades. If I am not mistaken, HSBC or the Bank of China used to rent space in Trump Tower and had for a long time.
I used to walk by Banco Santander in Manhattan all the time. Years before Biden became President.
True there have been foreign banks in the US for a while but not directly owned China Inc. Banks … it just seemed that under Obama’s “official” term in office and then again under his 3rd Term supervising JoeBama Biden’s auto pen, Branches of the China Inc. Banks were sprouting like mushrooms everywhere … especially next door to very sensitive US Companies … and the Bank of China Inc. appeared in the Cayman Islands as well.
I may be mistaken but the appearance of all these actual China Inc. Owned Branches aligned with EO’s signed by the auto pens of 2 specific Presidents.
Plus, HSBC was “technically” not a China Inc. Bank but that is UK-Honk Kong Holding Company. For some odd reason, the special financial arrangements made to use Honk Kong as a “safe interaction” point between West and China Inc. is still in place.
Yes, but I did research this, and it was the Bank of China that rented at Trump Tower.
ICBC, prior to Obama taking office.

Cleave is one of those funny/odd English words that has two diametrically opposed definitions.
Cleave can mean to cling to one another in such a way that they cannot be divided as is used in some of the wedding vows.
Cleave can also mean to divide asunder in such a way that it can never be rejoined.
I am rooting for the former, not the latter.
My observation of Elon Musk is that he is not motivated by money. I think he has a strong sense of justice.
I also think that the other two billionaires mentioned understand that if this ship of state is not righted, there won’t be an America
to do business in. These guys are not going to get a better deal anywhere else.
Just as America has stood as the guardian of most countries in the world for the last seventy-five years,
I believe we are also the standard bearer
to bring the world into a new golden age.
God bless Trump!
😅 China Retaliates Against Tariffs by Putting Worse Fortunes into Cookies
https://babylonbee.com/news/china-retaliates-against-tariffs-by-putting-worse-fortunes-into-cookies/
You gotta love Bab Bee
I gave up on fortune cookies when the one I got said, “ Your fortune is in another cookie.”
Since that was my only cookie, I never knew the answer. True story.
If the “cleaving” is inevitable then let’s get on with it. We need to have all of the players reveal their true team colors.
Let’s not be too hasty to judge Elon.
He stood up DOGE.
He has MASSIVE corporate interests that are currently funded by FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS.
His corporate interests RELY on Federal Government FRIENDLINESS and PROTECTIONS.
He’s OBLIGATED to defend the corporate interests he’s ACCOUNTABLE for
… including Overseas MANUFACTURING & MARKETS
… including markets & countries where he could ENCOURAGE their transition to FAIR TRADE
—> Leading to as orderly an American Reindustrialization as we might hope for.
Doge was not his idea
it was Lutwick’s I believe
and btw
one can criticize one action
while praising a different one
To be fair, he didn’t say it was Musk’s idea. He said he stood it up. Which he did.
The bottom line is that Musk should stick with DOGE and leave the economics to the professionals.
Only those from Ivy League schools should have any say in matters of economics … … … or war.
“In every disaster throughout American history, there always seems to be a man from Harvard in the middle of it” Brave search.
Time for the SIEO to end! What’s that you ask? The Sugardaddy International Economic Order!
I thought today was gonna be another “historical” DOW drop based on what the knee jerk doom and gloom crowd predicted…. Currently -316 (-0.83%)
Now at -470. Oh what will I do? /s
Buy!
Nasdaq is in the black now, along with Tech Bros stock
Even the S&P 500 swung stayed near even or positive all day until ending slightly down at the end.
An interesting note about the NASDAQ. This is where CRYPTOCURRENCY – BITCOIN is tracked, as a “Technical Stock”. The Major BITCOIN folks have all be saying NO RECESSION and things are going well.
SOMEONE told the others to knock it off.
Last night the DOW futures were down at one point, close to minus 1500.
A long time ago, I was told that institutional investors trade/buy on Tuesdays…maybe some early trading to cause a higher close?
I don’t believe that anything is unplanned; President Trump has had four long years to strategize. While everyone else plays checkers, he plays chess…we all know that. As a very successful businessman, he can foretell which folks are going to embrace what.
This is all probably right on schedule. And, seriously, I’ll never believe that any moves made by Elon Musk are not entirely scoped out by Trump, beforehand. What we see happening, is never what it really is.
But that’s just me.
China Ships 2.5 to 3.5 Million 40Ft. equivalent containers to the U.S. Every Year
Grok: Since a 40ft container is 2 TEUs(Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit), we can convert this TEU estimate into an approximate number of 40ft containers.
Assuming all containers were 40ft (though in reality, a mix of 20ft and 40ft containers is used), dividing the total TEUs by 2 gives us:
8 million TEUs ÷ 2 = 4 million 40ft containers
10 million TEUs ÷ 2 = 5 million 40ft containers
However, not all shipments use 40ft containers exclusively; 20ft containers (1 TEU each) are also common, particularly for heavier cargo.
Industry estimates suggest that 40ft containers typically account for 60-70% of the total TEU volume on this trade lane due to their efficiency for lighter, voluminous goods like consumer products. Adjusting for this mix, if we take 65% of the TEU total as 40ft containers:
8 million TEUs × 0.65 ÷ 2 = ~2.6 million 40ft containers
10 million TEUs × 0.65 ÷ 2 = ~3.25 million 40ft containers
Considering these factors and the dominance of China-U.S. trade, a reasonable estimate for the annual number of 40ft ocean containers shipped from China to the USA is approximately 2.5 to 3.5 million containers.
This range accounts for variations in economic demand, port data, and the proportion of 40ft versus 20ft containers used.
For a more precise figure, detailed shipping manifests or customs data for 2024 would be needed, but as of now, this estimate aligns with the scale of trade activity observed in recent years.
This is the question, isn’t it.
Smooth, polished, speaks well for a …. Wait a minute!
Wrong up-and-comer!
I see that Frau Ursula has already offered up lifting tariffs on what she/they EU call “industrials.” To them this means metals and steel industries.
EU offers US deal on free trade in industrial goods
Negotiating with that wax figure is a non-starter. But their offer is consistent with SD’s analysis that they will use tech industry bros to separate MAGA+Tech Bros.
Hoping that President Trump tells her to Go to Hell.
Trying to save Volkswagen.
Tata said they paused shipping Jaguars and Land Rovers.
Maersk shipping going to take it on the chin.
Thank you President Trump!
China is our enemy. They are killing us with fentanyl and flooding our country with cheap, built with slave labor substandard products. They have stolen our technology. They should be banned from owning U.S. land and from attending our colleges.
I am not sure 50% tarriffs are enough. 100 and 200% may be warranted, maybe even no trade.
God bless you Mr. President for your courageous efforts.
If Ackman is a Tech Bro, the Tech Bros should be careful. Ackman would have no problem killing off his crew members so he could get an alien through quarantine to make a quick profit. 🙄
@sundance I wonder how Winnie The Pooh (Xi Ping) is taking this news? This whole tarrifs thing has probably solidified and sealed the deal between Russia (Bear) and China (Dragon) I guess BRICS is here to stay as well.
🐉 versus 🦅…
Go, eagle. 🦅!
Poor Poor Walmart…..Maybe they will actually get a decent bakery, seafood, beef dept to expand sales.
Pardon my unfounded speculation: I would expect that Elon (and maybe some of the other tech bros) have known about the tariff plan for awhile now. If they can maintain a holding pattern for a couple of years, wait for the IC sector to move to the US or another allied country, then they’ll reap huge rewards.
In short: to hell with China. Hit ’em with 500% tariffs, force production to come back home, then enjoy the benefits of a more self-reliant and more secure nation. No more IP theft!
Maybe we eviscerate the incredibly unwise appetite for AI and all the evils that it will predictably bring, as well.
Thanks for the help Techzilla. Pipe down or we pull your plugs. Y’all don’t run sh!t except for your borderline terrifying companies.
Go make something that helps Mankind not enslaves it or you get put on the Bond Villain List with the rest of ‘em.
Have never understood how conservatives can think Ackman was on our side. He only ‘left’ the left due to the rampant antisemitism. Ackman is still a big backer of Planned Parenthood, used his elderly father as a propaganda prop to get people to take the Covid jabs and has his companies listed on the London Stock Exchange not the NYSE. Just because he is a billionaire doesn’t mean he is a good choice to be in the spotlight either. IMO he is a perfect illustration of today’s materialistic culture equating billionaire with knowledge and know how. Ackman is a Wall Street pillaging parasite, who is the type of Wall Street that Trump is fighting against.
Can someone explain to me why the Tech Bros aren’t royally pissed at the amount of intellectual and proprietary theft they’ve experienced over the years by the Chinese? I would wager that almost every product ever sent by them to China for production has been copied (i.e. ripped off, stolen), and then produced and sold independently by the Chinese. Where’s THAT outrage?
This is about crushing CCP revenue. PDJT may well win WWIII by fighting it with economic weapons. Corporations with assets in China might want to spend some time envisioning a Chinese future that does not include the CCP. Are tariffs the “spark that sets the prairie on fire”?
I do not have much time for a long explanation, because I am on the road to visit various family members, however…
History has shown that England (e.g.) free-traded itself into dependency and mediocrity, which was exacerbated by its adoption of Socialism/Communism in the later 1800’s and down to this day, with the bit of positive indigestion caused by Margaret Thatcher, 40 years ago.
Despite that example and all the negatives surrounding England and its free-trade Socialism, which served only the people involved in ruining domestic industries so that their international investments could prosper, a combination of intellectual arthritis began to infect America c. 1914, along with economic rheumatism from the Socialist New Deal and then spiritual catatonia with The Great Society of the 1960’s.
This allowed the free-traders – helped by idiotic unions and a lack of imagination in industry – to start sending jobs abroad in the 1970’s.
I still recall reading in the 1970’s how the Japanese were buying American iron ore from Michigan, shipping it to Japan, and then returning it as cars and appliances and I-beams for prices cheaper than American-made!
Something was severely wrong there: rather than saying “How do we fix this and become competitive again?” the powers-that-were (i.e. corrupt politicians and industrialists) decided to see how they could invest in those Japanese companies and start sending more raw materials and production to other cheaper countries.
Thus began the “Globalization” narrative at the same time as “The Service Economy” narrative, reaching its worst height and most sneeringly arrogant height with MAObama’s infamous statement that…
“Those jobs are never coming back!”
MAObama, of course, WANTED America to be destroyed, while he profited from its destruction, like a scrap-metal dealer drooling over a bombed out city in Yugoslavia in the 1990’s!
I want MAObama’s face and his snooty, upturned nose rubbed into his own excrement-filled statement through MAGA policies, i.e. by the return of manufacturing employment, by the return of factories of production and of domestic energy production, and by the return of American raw materials being used in those factories to produce a Golden Age by 2030!
I want to see diligence, creativity, and persistence returned to the schools, so that future generations can produce their versions of The Wright Brothers, of Thomas Edison, of Henry Ford, and all the other great American scientists and inventors of the past.
Enough of Communist policies rewarding mediocrity and worse not just in schools but in everything!
A Golden Age needs golden-age thinking and you will find only the atheistic thoughts of Envy and Revenge and Rule by Idiocy in Karl Marx and his philosophical descendants!
Your observations are fantastic in their accuracy, brevity and hoped for outcomes. Your knowledge and experience reflect a person of age that has experiences and accurate reflections of past events. Since I am also aware of many of these events, we can only wish that younger MAGA people will read carefully and see how they have been abused in the name of the new world order.
Many thanks for the kind comments!
Yes, younger MAGA people are needed who will A). have children and B). teach them the basic Virtues (not “values”) of our Judaeo-Christian Civilization!
So who now hates Elon Musk the most?
The left or a segment of the right?
We can criticize without hating.
Elon is the one who can get very nasty when he doesn’t get his own way.
Can you give an example? Perhaps?
Do you recall the cave rescue incident?
No wonder MCConnell is so anti tariff. His wife’s family’s shipping company from China may take a big hit.
This may be the week to turn over the giant congressional rock as well, and watch the cockroaches like McConnel and company scurry for cover under the light of MAGA.
Dust around the rock with Fipronil before kicking it over, just to be sure.
WOW … it would be fun to watch a turtle “scurry” … I’ve never seen that. I betcha his eyes really bug-out though!
Yes. If trade moves towards zero, shipping companies, longshoremen, etc all take a big hit.
I think Trump is well aware of that, and I think the hit he’s delivering to some of the turncoat Americans like McConnell is all part of the design.
Their fathers and grandfathers were likely overpaid union toadies and since unions were the reason a lot of companies left the US I have no sympathy for them. Should I add not allowing robots to make ports more efficient to my reasoning?
I would like to think that the longshoremen would have noticed a long time ago that they were doing far more offloading of foreign goods from ships for import than loading of American goods for export. Should be obvious that a trend like that is not sustainable.
Who suffers more; the American longshoremen, or the Chinese investors, i.e. government of China, who have control over the ports?
I wonder what Nan The Terrible’s portfolio looks like.. Probably making money no matter what happens..
Nan has tremendous intuition on the financial future.
McConnell & all of his globalist Congress cronies will take a bigger hit from the US Chamber of Commerce when those previously very large “campaign donations” and non-cash “gifts & perks” shrink because the good ol’ boys in Congress can no longer get pro-globalist / anti Main Street policies past the Oval Office…..

Vance hides.
He was nowhere to be seen when his pal Vivek was blasting Americans over the H1B issue.
BTW Americans are being harmed just as much by Elon’s precious H1Bs and F1 student visas, and this could all be for nothing if Americans end up in line with the rest of the world for all those jobs being brought back.
Americans will absolutely do hard, dirty manufacturing jobs, just not for a pittance.
What happened to America first?
Sacks was an awful pick because he’s a globalist and called us all racists for objecting to his H1B plans.
Tech bros – selling out their country for a buck. We used to have a name for that.
It was called being a “quisling”.
We used to have a name for people that wouldn’t accept it either. American, I believe. There was a constitution that was enforced, or else…
Keep in mind that for the Tech Brothers to be able to sell out their country … somebody in the US State Department signed off on the Licenses (after review by all the Departments of the US Gov Executive Branch) they needed to move off shore …. and … President Trump now controls the fate of those licenses.
False. It all depended on a Federal Reserve banking system and easy money. That’s it. End the Fed. End all the immorality we see around us. It’s not complicated .
Also check out that the passage of the 16th amendment which made federal income taxes legal was in February 1913, the year the un-federal, un-reserve and un-bank was founded. Made stealing taxpayers money legal. Coincidence?
