Some reminders on days like today:
Whenever someone sells a stock/bond/mutual fund, by definition, there is someone else on the opposite side buying the same. Your decision that an asset is overpriced is their same decision that it is NOT.
While this board likes to highlight Blackrock, Vanguard, et al. there are huge foreign institutions that also play in the markets and they will be having their say too. I think many foreign players had parked capital in US assets and are in the process of unwinding those trades because they need liquidity at home to protect themselves from tariff impacts. That is why the dollar has softened recently. Once these flows settle out, I would expect the dollar to strengthen.
Oil is now around $60 per barrel which should translate to ~$2.50 per gallon gas (in my neck of the woods). This is deflationary and will drive down costs throughout the economy as SD has highlighted in many posts.

Gas up here was $2.74 a gallon today, it’s dropped a lot and fast.
It was just at $2.84, so around here, it’s dropped .10c a gallon in about a week or so.
The lower gas prices alone should translate into some falling prices that we can really see..
Despite what I’ve read about egg prices dropping some 65% at the wholesale level, the egg prices up here haven’t changed much at all. We’ve still got a 2 carton limit in our grocery stores.. so hopefully this eases.
We should have a great tourist season this summer if the gas prices stay low- and this is good for us all.
I dare say that we all could use a vacation, or at least a few good day trips this summer, we’re long overdue for some good weather and fun.

Here in Collin County, TX …. price at the pump for regular was down to $2.65 and trending DOWNWARD … until resistance to the tariffs started in earnest …. now that same price at the pump is back up to $3.10.
Oddly …. The exception are the stations pumping subsidized gas from Venezuela … they are at $2.99.
I’m looking at around four dollars or more here in Eastern Washington.

Reminds me when the casinos in AC first opened. They used to bring in hundreds of day tripper, slot playing people from the major cities, all with a reasonable bus drive away. The casinos would give each person a free ride, $10 cash and a voucher for lunch. Some of the resident retirees of AC would catch a bus from AC to Philly first thing in the morning, right to the bus station. (About 1 hour) Read the morning AC. Newspaper on the way. They would then get in the waiting bus back to AC, read the Philadelphia newspaper, collect their $10 have lunch and go home to take a nap. They did this almost daily which turned out to be a nice little additional income plus something to do. Never underestimate the “Seniors!”

I agree. I have been in the ‘it will take awhile to get to the meat of the problems’ camp all along. The mess and the manipulations by those leaving the joint, must be immense to try and deal with.
Give it time and some slack to those just stepping into their jobs. The Trump administration is barely three months old and some like Bongino just got started.
Rushing important, critically important decisions and legal issues is not a wise idea at all at this time with the enemy hot to cause major damage to the Trump agenda and to those working to make America better again.
Dot the I-s and cross the T-s before exposing what they have and what their final actions will be. Get it right so the enemy has no room to maneuver into a place of control and power and can try to prove the MAGA Trump team wrong before the mid terms are upon us. The IC is still littered with enemy combatants who will do all they are told to in order to stop any attempts to find the evidence, Indict the perpetrators, release the truth and send some major players to jail.
Walking through the complex issues in the intelligence services is daunting to the max and there are probably land mines, planted by the enemy before exiting their jobs, all over the place that could cause major problems if triggered.
This is almost the most overwhelming, dangerous task that has been given to any of the Trump team imo. God speed to all the true patriots in the midst of the foul swamp dealing with the mess at the FBI and CIA and DOJ.

In this case, blood cultures identified gram-positive cocci in her blood, indicating that her sepsis and ARDS were likely caused by either a Staphylococcus aureus or Streptococcus pneumoniae bacterial infection.
Her parents brought her to the Texas University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas for treatment of her apparent bacterial sepsis due to underlying chronic tonsillitis and chronic mononucleosis. At the time of admission, the girl’s father specifically requested that she be treated with inhaled budesonide by nebulizer. The UMC Hospital staff refused this request, and appear to have treated her as if she was suffering from COVID rather than ARDS, and administered an intravascular infusion of steroids. IV steroids suppress the immune system’s ability to fight bacterial infections, and the father was aware that inhaled Budesonide is an effective, lower-risk treatment relative to IV steroids when treating ARDS.
Awful situation. Too bad the parents didn’t know where they could obtain Budesonide inhalers or had a DR that could help correctly treat.

A resolution to get rid of Boasberg is on the way. This does not require a 2/3 vote in the Senate, just a simple majority. With the RINOs in CONgress I don’t know if this will work but it’s certainly worth a try.

I assume PEs are price-to-earnings ratios, but I don’t know what compressing them means, and I don’t know what choosing not to be in those assets means, either.
Compressing the P/E ratio means that either the earnings have gone up, or the price has come down. Choosing not to be in them (equities) means your in something else like bonds or cash.
