Is the reason there are stable-coins because Bitcoin is a USD proxy?
Gold-backed stablecoins, not air or promises that it’s valuable, but backed by an actual asset, which is the point that I am wondering about.
Now, if the U.S. was to go back onto the gold standard as it was before Nixon took the nation off it, now there would be a comparable to the China/Russia gold-backed stablecoins. Otherwise, what gives bitcoin it’s value? Word of mouth or ____?

My mother had 3 checks stolen out of a blue drop box last September.
Mailed Sunday, bank was calling on Wednesday because they detected fraud and froze accounts.
Checks were “washed” & altered.

I have brought that up here several times. DOJ does not have 50-100 grand juries going with 5,000-10,000 MAGA lawyers to prosecute everything.
