As the Deep State Intelligence Apparatus continues its long-standing position in opposition to President Trump, perhaps the Trump administration finally hit back at one of the lead elements.
General Timothy Haugh has been fired from his position as Director of the National Security Agency (NSA) on Friday. Additionally, his deputy Wendy Noble has been removed from the NSA and reassigned. No explanations yet made.
(Washington Post) – The director of the powerful wiretapping and cyber espionage service, the National Security Agency, was fired Thursday, according to two current and one former U.S. officials.
Gen. Timothy Haugh, who also heads U.S. Cyber Command, was let go along with his civilian deputy at the NSA, Wendy Noble, according to the officials.
Noble was reassigned to a job within the Pentagon’s Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence. The NSA is part of the department.
Haugh, who assumed his dual position just over a year ago, was traveling on Thursday and could not be reached for comment. Sean Parnell, a spokesman for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, did not respond to a request for comment.
The current and former officials said they did not know the reason for Haugh’s dismissal or Noble’s reassignment. (more)

Grady, USN, the Acting Chairman of the Joint Chiefs since 21 February 2025. The Sec Def and Sec of the Air Force may weigh in and of course President Trump may have some directions to the DOD on this matter.
There is a possibility that whatever he was relieved of command for is so egregious that he faces a courts martial but I wouldn’t hold my breath for that to happen.

I don’t know much of anything about anything. But I’d ask you to consider that that the agency has lots of silos, down to the program level. Some of those people in charge of those programs have built fiefdoms, systems of patronage, and are corrupt. Because that’s what happens when you have all of these silos and the oversight isn’t built to really fix anything but disloyalty to the institution and it’s rules of conduct. Just as the whole “intel community” operates, its subcomponents operate.
Haugh and Noble weren’t fixing that. All of the brass there except Martemucci and the CMSgt have been embedded in the agency and in the state of Maryland forever. They’re going to have to dig deeper.

Thinthread was an internal NSA program and once it was FINALLY recognized as a good thing was asked what they could do with 1.2 billion dollars in funding. They said we don’t need that much. We could do it with 300 million. Wrong answer. The head of their program was fired, NSA brought the contractor eventually to get that money into NSA management and they, of course, chose the much more expensive, but no more capable and not yet implemented Trailblazer which also didn’t include the protective measures for US citizens that Thinthread had.
After 9/11, they ran the stored NSA data through Thinthread and not only found that it would have predicted 9/11, but that there were more terrorist actions planned that, fortunately, didn’t take place, including more planes. [see below]
NSA’s response – completely shut the program down.
Any version of Thinthread they tried to get implemented ANYWHERE else in the fedgov like the spysat agency National Reconnaissance Office, Customs and Border Protection, and CIA after 9/11 was prevented because it would embarrass the NSA and General Hayden, the guy who insisted that Trailblazer should be used, who was promoted TWICE after “the greatest intelligence failure in the history of the NSA.”
