Two things- “we built the greatest public school system the world has ever seen”.
Yes we did, and Ronald Reagan acknowledged it, and he attended public school himself.
There has been a prolonged attack on “the public schools” in America, and I see too many on the side of tearing them down instead of restoring them. The communists and many so-called conservatives are on the same page.
The other thing, 1979 was not the beginning of the federal government’s involvement in schools. Not by a long shot.
He’s right about the Department of Interference. It’s become worse than that, though, it also is the Department of Money-Laundering and Rent-Seeking. Good Riddance.

The Dept of Education spends $100 Billion a year to be 40th ranked of the top 40 nations. We were ranked 38th for a while but recently dropped to 40th.
The DOE spends way more per student than all those other nations ranked above us yet we are ranked last. We spend several multiples higher per student than these other nations.
Time to take a different approach.
President Trump and team are attempting a Federalist approach. Remove the issue from the Federal govt and return it to the states where it belongs.
I have heard there are/were 9,000 DOE employees working in DC alone. What are all those workers doing from DC? Clearly, they are not close to the classroom educating our kids.
In the process of removing the bloated bureaucracy from education, I don’t see any reduction in funding for education. I simply see an attempt to spend the money more efficiently.
As far as needing congress to vote for the DOE’s dismantling, we must remember while that may be true, President Trump’s Sec of Education Linda McMahon has the keys. She has been given clear orders to turn the lights out and lock up when she’s done.
Keep it simple by keeping it local.
A quick search shows the Federal Department of Education has 4,000 employees and a 2024 budget of $268 billion.
Be careful if you search using DOE because results will include the Department of Energy too.

I got the $100 Billon figure from Judge Jeanine’s comments above. I went back and watched it again. To clarify, she said they wasted $100 Billion a year so they surely spend more than that.
The 9,000 employees in DC figure I got from a different interview a few weeks ago. The number stuck with me because it’s 1,000 employees more than the 8,000 FBI employees in DC that Kash Patel talked about. He wants to move those jobs out of DC and move them out across the country to “go be cops”.
Crazy how much waste is taking place. Overdue for a major cleanup.

Spot on Judge! As someone who has spent many years working in the public school system and watched the degradation of it, she is correct. The Dept. of Ed at the federal level is a complete waste of monies.
Education over sight deserves to be back in the hands of the states and local school systems and most importantly the PARENTS since their taxes pay for it all so keep the money local. She’s also correct that there are certain parts of the former federal Ed dept that are going to be kept under federal maintenance that will be part of other depts going forward. Certain areas, like special needs, are not being eliminated from federal control totally. More emphasis needs to be made publicly on this point by the Trump team so that people understand the details.
Yes, Special ed, title 9 enforcement, and anti-discrimination will continue, although some like anti-discriminatiin may be transfered to DOJ, Civil rights division.
“Closing down the Dept. of Ed” sounds great to those of us who have been wanting it since Reagan, but there are some, such as parents of “special needs” kids, who may freak out upon hearing it.

Think I’ve made this comment before, but I think it bears repeating. I was a mediocre 400m runner in high school in the 80s, meaning I could place but not win. I ran faster times than this 40 years ago. Kids are faster now than then. I guarantee this kid would not finish in the top 6 (scoring positions) in the men’s competition, let alone set a record.

Exactly what I do, especially when there’s a flood of snarky, unhelpful comments by the usual players who never have anything positive to say. I just leave for awhile or only read some of the featured articles. Even Sundance can be a little too negative and biased at times for me.
I am never at a loss for words of exasperation. I do try to pepper in half assed attempts at humor and maybe a thought provoking line or two, occasionally.
Since I was a kid I always tried to make others laugh during embarrassing or distressing scenarios as a way to make me feel better.. I apologize in advance for any undue suffering.

The Constitution didn’t give the Judiciary any powers of review or consent. Our Founders plainly stated at the time that the Judiciary had judgment but not power nor enforcement. They have no “check” nor “balance.”
And, these literally hundreds(!) of adverse actions are finally forcing that point. Which has been forced before, though not to this scale.

I would like President Trump to write an executive order creating an Executive Branch Court that sits higher up the food chain than the congressional created federal courts. Have the judges ready to be sworn in 5 seconds after the order is signed so they can override the lower courts objections.
If one of the other coequal branches of government can create a court that has authority over another coequal branch, then neutering the other court’s power over the Executive Branch is fair play. Especially when we know that a judicial insurrection would never happen against a commie democrat president, brain dead or not.

my reading of the above stature, federal judge Boasberg, in attempting to hinder the deportation of violent criminal aliens, and continue to harbor them in the United States, has committed about 50 serious federal felonies.
As there is no “king’s X” provision allowing federal judges to commit serial felonies in the course and scope of their employment, President Trump should direct the Attorney General to send federal marshals to arrest Judge Boasberg. and refer him to the appropriate US Attorney for prosecution under this section of federal code.,and under as many counts as pertain directly to his rulings.
That should keep Judge Shitforbrains too busy to issue any more jackassical rulings or injunctions, and expedite his impeachment for cause and removal from the federal bench, on his way to federal Supermax.
Start charging federal judges for the crimes they’re committing, and this bogus lawfare being directed at Trump will disappear like ice cubes in a sauna. For that matter, tasing a couple and dragging them out of federal court by the hair should curb their enthusiasm for recent shananigans in about 0.2 seconds.

During his first week in office, Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Paris Agreement, which commits countries to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. He has also frozen funding related to initiatives on climate change.
Lawmakers’ recommendations in the 181-page document, obtained by Defense News, align solidly with the White House’s desire to abandon efforts addressing climate change, initiatives championed during former President Joe Biden’s administration.
The fiscal 2025 appropriations process has not been standard. A six-month stopgap spending bill passed by Congress last week may lower defense spending, but it also grants the Defense Department far more authority to decide how to spend its budget.

What’s more, trade with China—$240 billion in 2023—keeps Moscow afloat, but it’s a one-sided relationship. China buys cheap Russian energy while selling finished goods, leaving Russia a junior partner. Moscow is not comfortable and even resents playing second fiddle to Beijing.
On the other hand, the United States could offer a sweeter deal: access to global markets, investment in infrastructure, and a tech lifeline. For Russian President Vladimir Putin, who thrives on pragmatism, the allure of rebuilding Russia’s economy might outweigh ideological loyalty to Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The potential for such a development is more than hypothetical. A negotiated settlement in Ukraine where Russia retains some territorial gains but withdraws from most of Ukraine could be framed as a “win” for domestic consumption. In return, the United States could push NATO to pull back from its easternmost footprint—perhaps even reverting to pre-1997 boundaries, as Russia has long demanded, or a planned return to prior agreed-upon limits along with an enforced neutrality for non-NATO nations bordering Russia, like Ukraine.
Such an arrangement wouldn’t dismantle NATO but could ease Moscow’s paranoia about encirclement, making a pivot away from China palatable. It’s a low-cost concession for the United States: NATO’s core remains intact, and Russia’s ties to China diminish.
Of course, it’s not yet a reality. Putin and Russia’s elite are wary of U.S./NATO promises. Plus, China could counter with sweeter deals—more loans, more weapons tech. But that remains to be seen.
The Ukraine leadership is also a wild card. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is proving himself to be less predictable and more capricious than the Trump administration anticipated. What’s more, Western European NATO members are all less inclined to seek a peace settlement with Putin.
Therefore, part of the Trump administration’s effort is to force Ukraine to the peace table, which is happening as I write this, and convince NATO members such as the United Kingdom, France, and Germany to accept a peace deal. The United States must also find a way to meet Russia’s conditions while not losing Ukraine’s agreement to a cease-fire. Both should be achievable, but time will tell.
However, as far as Moscow is concerned, Washington has better cards to play than Beijing in terms of market size, technological edge, and the relief of a powerful NATO backing off Russia’s border countries—all of those appeal to Moscow.
At the same time, such a deal would add salt to the wound of the Chinese regime, which already finds itself in the Trump administration’s crosshairs concerning the Panama Canal, rising trade tariffs, and the accelerating American economic decoupling from China.

A new investigation by KCAL News using LAFD data found that since 2019, the number of fires connected to a homeless person has increased by the thousands. In 2024 alone, there were nearly 17,000 such fires.
A separate investigation by NBC4’s I-Team tallied nearly 14,000 homeless fires a year earlier. The report found that some of the fires were sparked as a result of encampments illegally tapping into the city’s electrical system to power items in their tents. Regardless, the upward trend in these types of fires is clear. The 13,909 homeless fires in 2023 were nearly double the number in 2020 when 43% of all citywide fire incidents involved a homeless person. Today, more than half of the fires do, even as the homeless account for less than 1% of the city’s population.
Gigi Graciette, a reporter for Fox 11 television, says fire officials have been advised to evade questions about homeless fires from local journalists. “Even when [high-ranking fire officials] know for a fact how a fire … was indeed connected to an encampment or to an unhoused individual, they are not to say that,” Graciette said during a February 21 broadcast. “They are just to say it’s under investigation,” she continued.
Where is Congress on this Judicial Activism
Seems to me House Speaker Johnson and Senate Majority Leader Thune should way in on what’s happening in our courts to stop President Trumps policies and actions.
They could, at least, voice concern that the actions of the lower courts is unprecedented and concerning.
The Executive Branch is out there by themselves fighting against these courts eroding the balance of power. If these judges are allowed to do what they are doing the the Executive Branch will become powerless against the Judical Branch.
Congress needs to step in.

Every time I hear something like this I get sickened by the thought that so many people accommodated this sick perversion to this extent, ever.

Considering the amount of financial bets (shorts) for it to go down – which could cost the institutions billions, as well as expose their long time skullduggery – their desperation is obvious.

From what I’ve heard elsewhere about what is in the files, the CIA was watching Oswald’s snail mail from the moment he returned to the US until the assassination which means they would have been watching him in other ways, too, and my best guess is that they simply ALLOWED the assassination to take place.

China is an expansionist country because it has to be. It cannot feed its people, nor does it have the raw material for industrial expansion. In order to expand it has joined with WEF to try to take over the world. WEF thinks China’s model of rule is the answer to their goals of world control. They are too stupid to realize China will swallow them up when they are through with them.
China has militarily encroached upon all of its neighbors at some time. It has encroached into Africa by buying off dictators or financing projects and building them with their excess labor. It has built a base on the Red Sea to project itself into control over the Suez Canal. It is building islands and arming them in the South China Sea to control shipping through which over 60% of the worlds trade passes. It has taken over the Panama Canal. China bribed at least one (if not more) US presidents.
China has infiltrated the Canadian and United States government with secret agents. It has been running an anchor baby scheme to get Chinese nationals voting rights as well as the right to run for president in the US. It has purchased land around our military bases. It has flown spy balloons across our country.
President Trump is countering this threat by retaking the Panama Canal. He will secure the Suez Canal with agreements with Arab countries. There is not a military answer to the South China Sea but there is an economic answer.
President Trump will in due time remove the Chinese from the American Hemisphere. He has said he will build an iron dome for America. He has said he will purchase 48 icebreakers. He is making offers to Greenland and Canada to join the union.
When President Trump places tariffs on China their economy will at some point collapse. China will become dangerous. They will cut off the South China sea. If they are in control, they would cut off the Panama Canal to Us traffic. The west coast of the US would be blockaded from the rest of the world. By having icebreakers, we could navigate the northern route through the Artic to Europe. This will become more important if the Artic melts back. Thus icebreakers.
China has ICBMs. To build an iron dome President would need anti-missile sites along the Canadian and Greenland Artic to intercept the missiles on the rise from China or Russia. With bases there we could also keep track of Chinese and Russian submarines passing through the Artic.
Economically it would make Russia and the US as the stakeholders of the Artic with all of it’s vast resources with a small portion belonging to Norway. It would essentially block China out of the Artic and give the North American Hemisphere all of the raw materials and energy it would need for it’s industry for the foreseeable future. China would not have the money to continue it’s military and navy build-up nor to continue with it’s economic expansion into other countries.
Russia is friends with China and Iran because it does not have anybody else to help it protect itself from Europe who wants it’s vast wealth of raw materials. Russia knows China wants the same thing and is not a dependable friend. President Trump will befriend Russia and make trade and security agreements that will help Russia to become a prosperous country along with America.

FTA: “Turkish police on Wednesday arrested Istanbul’s mayor Ekrem Imamoglu — a key rival of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan — claiming they were investigating corruption and terror links. At the same time, they took into custody at least 100 other supporters of Imamoglu. In the days since they have expanded the scope of their arrests and now are detaining those identified as protesting Imamoglu’s arrest.
At the same time they arrested Imamoglu, the authorities closed several roads in and around Istanbul, banned demonstrations, and shut down portions of the Internet. Turkey is now restricting access to multiple social media platforms including X, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.
The crackdown followed severe electoral losses by Erdogan’s party in local elections. It also came just before Imamoglu was expected to be named as the presidential candidate of the Republican People’s Party (CHP).
A day prior to Imamoglu’s arrest his university diploma was invalidated by his alma mater Istanbul University. Having a university degree is a prerequisite for running in elections under Turkish law. Taking away Imamoglu’s diploma now renders him incapable of ever becoming President.
“We are facing great tyranny, but I want you to know that I will not be discouraged,” Imamoglu said in a video message posted Wednesday. That message was broadcast all over Istanbul which remains under the control of Imamoglu’s party. It was even put out over loudspeakers in the street.
CHP leader Ozgur Ozel condemned Imamoglu’s arrest as “an attempted coup” during a fiery speech at Istanbul City Hall. “This isn’t just about stripping Ekrem Imamoglu of his right to run for office—it’s about robbing the nation of its right to choose him,” Ozel declared. Imamoglu’s wife, Dilek Kaya Imamoglu, echoed this sentiment, calling the arrest “a targeted political operation to eliminate Turkey’s future president” and vowing to fight back against what she described as “a direct blow to the nation.”
In a dramatic escalation of political tensions, the Istanbul Prosecutor General’s Office has now announced the seizure of the construction company co-owned by Imamoglu. The move effectively bankrupts Imamoglu and destroys him financially.
In response cities all over Turkey have exploded. Demonstrations involving hundreds of thousands of people have been seen in Istanbul, Ankara, and a host of other major municipalities. University campuses are also being rocked by mass protests in which Erdogan has been branded as a “dictator” who must be forced out of office. ”

Ever since Obama let Erdogan build a mosque here in the US, I have been convinced Erdogan wants to recreate the Ottoman Empire… and that is exactly what he is doing.
I think Erdogan is as dangerous as Iran – it was he who coordinated the take down of Assad. He is now stealing parts of Syria and Lebanon….
